  1. TSN needs to do something, something in the panel is off. I think Kate is good at speaking and her presence, but the "character" they have her doing isn't working with the viewers. I also feel Henoc has great energy but is not a clear, polished speaker.....he is mumbly, I think he has been poorly cast, he can add something to the panel, but not as a mainstay IMO.

  2. I think if we handle and frustrate the Elks D-line and run game early we should take this one with little resistance, but IF that D-line and/or running game get some traction against us, they could make it a game.

I don't want either their D-line which "should be" really good based on personelle or their run game get any momentum. We know If we can handle the Edm. defensive front the backend isn't as strong, and Ford while an amazing sandlot player isn't going to beat anyone playing a passing game in the pocket.

Add in 30,000 plus fans, and perfect weather, we should be set up for a "happy ending"

  3. I am excited to see some of our "newer" Cdn talent. Kelly has shown some flashes, Makonzo has shown flashes, Shay and Smith are highly touted.

Lawson has looked good and looks healthy, Clercious, outside of the last game has looked good, Ike is showing flashes, Petterson as well, Wallace is looking very promising......

All together that is a lot of potential and promising CDN talent we are just scratching the surface with, I really want to see all of them get some rotations, get up to speed and get the chance to prove/show that they can turn into our next crop of CDN's. However we don't need any of them to be thrown to the wolves, we have the luxury of bringing them along patiently..... although it does sometimes feel like it's too patiently...I expect hope as teh season progresses more of them will see some increased loads....

Back to this game...Ayers seems quick and to be a reliable tackler...can one of the guys/gals who know more about him then I do, let me know if I he may be a fit at DE against a guy like Ford. He is smaller and younger than our true ends, but he may be able to hold contain better against an athlete who plays sandlot football like Ford.....or maybe I am thinking way too much into the contain game.....I just don't want to see Ford breaking contain and making an explosion play again....

Jokes aside, I would not hesitate to run 6ol with eli in on both passing and run downs. I'd much rather have him in vs the edmonton DL, than a banged up NI wr or Sterns(to get cooley on).

Eli as a TE/6 OL to assist in blocking...EDM has a very, very good DL and if he does sneak out now after the highlight reel grab last week....he will have to be respected even as a decoy... It doesn't effect the ratio and a healthy ELI, I agree is better overall to the team than a hobbling Demski. (for clarification...no I am not suggesting he is the better receiver, just perhaps a better overall fit against a really good D-line compared to a receiver who is hurt)

  5. Good

    All our DB's

    All our LB's (that played)

    Wheetfall

    Eli with a TD......

    Specials

    BC's Team Ted shirts

    2and 0

    Bad

    2nd half Zach

Didn't love some of teh play calls on O especially in the 3rd

    O-line wasn't great

    Willie getting himself ejected

Clercuius had a bad game, no ifs and butts, if he is hurt sit him and let him get healthy

    Ugly

Listening to TSN go on and on and on about Rourke....

Lack of depth at NI reciever-Clercuous played hurt and Demski clearly was hurting.....We need better depth here

Lack of D-line depth....more specifically end....Willie and Vaughters are older, and while still good, I strongly believe they need to be spelled off more

He’s 2nd in the league in pr yards, despite all the other guys having a game played on him, and first in avg. he’s only got 3 ko returns but his 29 yards per is in the top group of guys. Most of whom have broken one and have 3-4 times more returns this year.

Hes been exceptional so far, when he does break one he’s probably going to go on a run and have silly averages.

Im interested to see what Logan can do as an offensive rotational guy, but if he isn’t healthy soon he might not have a path to make the AR.

On top of that, vaval looked really good at times at db in pre season.

I also question the bolded part....I think each week that path is getting narrower

  6. They "should" be better this week, at home and with film on us......but Masoli is a real wild card, he certainly looked "ridged" last game, maybe he has "loosened up" this week in practice, but due kinda looked like he had Kerwin Bell level mobility...

I don't expect Peterson to be as good as last week, but I sure would love to see it again, and I hope to see the "freight train" punish a few players. We completely shut down BC''s run game, it was beautifully done If we can do it again, I don't see us loosing, but with Masoli, they may try and lean on/establish the run harder than last week.......

They are getting IMO a big boost back on teh D-line with Teuhema back, and we changed our o-line, perhaps this is a spot where we could struggle, we handled it so well last week, this week will be a bigger challange.

Beryhill out, probably hurts them, but Clercious not 100% hurts us

I think IF we play specials like we did last week and "win" the field position battles, we should come out on top tonight.....Easily no, I don't think so, but IF we can get them into some adversity early, they may start to allow some self-doubt to creep in

  7. If Cooley comes on, it has to be one of Stearns, Vaval, Ayers or Vanderpool...I don't see another option.....but heck I am wrong all the time...just ask my wife....To me the least weakness to the roster would be Stearns...but that leaves a thin receiving core with Cocoran or Cobb starting as R5 and the other the only real back-up.....I mean possibly Peterson or Cooley could sub in at receiver if we ran into injury issues....

Ayers I hate to take off but he wouldn't disrupt the starting rotation and lord knows we have enough back-up LB's

Vaval, I hate to take off, but if we have to, we could maybe still get decent field position with a rostered player handling duties....BC seems to have weak cover teams, but I don't love this option...

Vanderpool, swaps with Wallace, and easy switch, but our line looks really good and chemistry is so important I kind of hate to mess with it...but it is a "easy" swap without potentially a huge drop off...

Left field option....Woods comes out, Lawson and Jake start with Korny/Schmeck backing up in the middle

  8. IF.... BO can't go(I don't trust Farhan)...what are people's thoughts on

Stearns off, Corcaron and Cobb start and back-up.....yes that's thin....

Cooley (on for Stearns)and Petterson on at RB...hybrid slot perhaps.....

This way we keep Vavel on and leave the d the same and keep Ayers in

I have gone over and over trying to get Cooley in....even as insurance and I feel this is the best of a bunch of not ideal roster moves ..

Booch I think wants Thomas and Lawson on with Korn as the only DT rotation and woods to sit so we can fit Cooley......😎🫣

  9. JT had some push......He looked good enough in the first game, Lawson got some reps...my hope is as Lawson "gets back into game speed/shape" and without rushing it, the rep count tilts from more JT to more Lawson.

Ayers is good, he just has "it" I don't think there is any way we cannot have him on the roster is some capacity...he was a demon on specials last night

Vaval, needs to secure it better, but fearless runner, he could be a gooder

The O-line looked really good, some of them busting downfield, some "grading" I was impressed

Strev. was not perfect, but he can play QB and not just FB....

Wheetfal is no Lawler, but he looks like he can ball

Peterson, surprised the heck outta me.....what a debut for him

Parker had the one play he got beat, but I thought he was in good position most of teh night and if you watch him, he can move, he can close quick

Is the long snapper we released picked up by anyone yet? maybe he gets a call back??

Overall both Hogan and Younger IMO had great 2025 debuts

Crazy that we won and dominated the entire pace of the game start to finish and without our starting QB, our stating RB after the first series, our returner, and our long snapper

Someone on a podcast mentioned Betts had 6 DT's and 7 QB hurries in that game, so not too shabby.  Good test for the OT's this game, they know he's going around the outside, see how fast can they retreat.  Use MCI as a last defence guard dog.

He had the QB hurry, but Ford is such a great athlete he easily pulled away from him.......IF Betts played disciplined many of Fords biggest plays would not have happened......look I think Betts is a great athlete, he is fast, he has an amazing motor and cardio/conditioning is incredibly impressive, but until he shows me he can play a more rounded game I think while great at his one trick, he is just that a one trick and a good gameplan can take him out of his game.

  11. Stayed out of the roster discussion as it has been discussed to death........but trying to find a silver lining...our special teams coverage and return was poor last year....looking at the talent and the 100 LB's we have we better have great special teams play especially coverage.

Ayers to DE....hmmmm, dude looks to be able to play...but DE...heck maybe Younger has a formation look that fit's a guy like Ayers to a T and we all look back on it and go....that was awesome....no idea it does seem odd but I am happy Ayers is on the active

Don't worry all we are going to hear about is Rourke, Rourke, Rourke, Rourke, Rourke, Rourke, Rourke, Betts, Betts, Rourke, Rourke.........Probably a side note of Buck vs. Osh, a half side note of Zach is suspended....and then back to Rourke, Rourke, Rourke.......

Personally, I don't care who we dress or how we do it but for the love of all things Media, please shut Rourke down, and please don't let Strev be sacked by Betts......

I would love to see Mr. aggressive Betts bite a few RPO.......Ford made Betts look like a fast fool in the first game...

I would love to see use confuse Rourke, and nothing would make me happier than a time count or two on him, due to our crowd.........

  12. Ford now has the #1 spot as his in Edm. it is his team to run......from week one, he IMO looked bad, he did not show any pocket comfort, or great reads and throws, what he did show me is that he is one heck of amazing athlete, he is elusive, he is fast and he run, he can make something out of nothing when he breaks contain. The sample size is too small, but as other have stated he needs to show he can be more than a great athlete. Good teams will contain him and make him throw from the pocket....can he do that.....I am not sure he can

Stervelor has never been handed a team as a clear #1...this is the biggest flaw in your argument, you can't compare the franchise guy, the undisputed #1 QB of a team to another team's back-up....Now will Strev ever be a true anointed #1 in the CFL, only time will tell, he has a steep mountain to climb for that to happen. Has he been a perfect QB here, no he hasn't, if he had he would be starting for us or someone else

The stats you showed are facts, neither has been very good, so many variables in those as others have pointed out, but the biggest key here is Tre is leading his team, he is the face he is the undisputed #1 as opposed to Strev. who is the number 2 and from all accounts had to show and earn that spot by beating out two veterans and Wilson...so to your point then is Wpg. smarter than Edm. to start the proven guy........

  13. I remember we usually play well against Rourke, can someone with a better memory perhaps tell me did we "spy" him when we played him, he does well with his legs. If my memory is correct.....but I don't fully trust that.....We traditionally dropped heavy coverage, focused on containing him in the pocket and had a "spy" looking for the run with really good success......am I accurate in that?

  14. My 2 cents

Rourke while I get nauseated listening to TSN talk about him....he did play well; he looked better than he did last year....Next week will say a lot about Rourke IMO...hopefully we bring him crashing down to earth and the turf

Ford is not a QB, he is a great athlete and can "sandlot" with the best of them.....the only time he looked like a QB was when he was like 10 yards back and rolled out to the wide side......not sustainable

Betts gifted Edm. most of their early offensive numbers.....He is quick, I will give him that, but dude you ain't catching Tre Ford....but stubborn is as stubborn does he kept trying and failing miserably allowing ford an unobstructed easy rollout.....I still say Betts has a great motor and is really quick but the guy just can't contain or be patient against the run....His career so far is one trick pony

I am happy for Buck to get his first win....I just hope his second win is at least a couple weeks away.....

  15. Ott needs to practice form tackling......

Either Ott has a week O-line or Sask. has a very good D-line.......

Sask. O-line considering they had some 3rd and 4th's on it actually did really well considering and gave Harriss the time he needed.....

AJ, may not get back on the field if the Canadian kid get's an extended audition, he ran hard.....

Sask. was better prepared and better coached this game, which is half crazy to think about with the substitutions they had....
