Off topic, But My 9 year, My parents and i are driving to Minneapolis at the end of the month in a 1959 chrysler and a 1960 chrysler for a car show.    I have fun memories of driving to places in the US for car shows specific to these cars with my parents 20 years ago and i'm really happy that My son will be able to share them with me and his grandparents.. I wanted to bring my 4.5 year old daughter but she would he too much of a handful driving all that way in these cars.
 

Strev. had a Q and a half to show his stuff, he was unable to sustain a drive, was not able to move them into scoring territory,  locked onto his first read and threw several passes that jeopardized the health of the receiver.   When he replaced Nichols the RB's D tightened the box and started to beat upon him and Harris every time they ran the ball.  Harris ran for 9/50 under Nichols and 9/30 under Strev. which indicates  mighty tough slogging.
You can blame LaPo and his game plan all you want but if they have to rely on Strev. as a replacement, scored points are going to be tough to come by unless he starts from inside the redzone.
 
 
 
 

I guess I can't reach you with logic - so will not try! However someone disagreeing with you does not make them stupid! Just makes them disagreeing with your position. But no matter - I guess you have spent too much time swimming in the shallow end of the gene pool to understand the concept .

Just having an opinion does not make it valid, and if people don't want to be told they are saying stupid **** then they should just stop saying stupid ****. 
If someone comes in and starts acting like the D is giving up too many points, well are we just supposed to pretend that's a valid point? Cause it sure as hell isn't. Not sure why people get so butthurt when they are corrected, they should be grateful that I took the time to help them better themselves. 

not happy with your language here - if you can not express your opinions in generally acceptable terms maybe you should reconsider posting here. Maybe hard to understand but just because someone expresses an opinion that is different than yours does not make them either a moron or stupid. You need to grow up and join the adults in the room.

We should pull Nichols. He only has 239 yards passing right now with 89 of those on one play.

Look.. There are a few posters that are "holier then thou" and when their personal opinions differ from yours will attach your manhood and personal character instead of actually debating their opinion.. It gets tiresome, but there are enough great posters that offset the delusional.
There are even more that reject the jet package, but i assure you, its the most elite, tactically sound play any offence can run.  if you disagree you are ****.
 

Wins, that's the key. Weve been able to celebrate more wins then any other other team except Calgary since Nichols started....just a coincidence I guess.

I’m going to advocate for Matt Nichols. The thread has two questions. 
1. The standings after 18 games determines the playoff participants and home files. How a squad moves in the standings is the primary objective of a coach and team. Games won directly affect the standings. Winning is more important than how you win. 
2. Passing yards are a result of execution for each passing play. The game plan and then situation determines the coach’s call. As the plays, running, long pass, short pass, etc support the objective. Also situational is field position, and score. On Thursday, the bombers had great field position most of the first three quarters and had substantial leads for most of the game. Passing yards become more meaningful with more games to compare the same position, and has less meaning when measuring team success for the playoff standings. 

Maybe when analyzing the play of Nichols we should consider the following:
Nichols first time under fire was game 1
The interior of the Oline is still kind of soft. Nichols ate a lot of balls last night because the defence had come through.
This was his first game with Matthews and second with Whitehead. 
Nichols is just a lowly private on that field. He does as he's told. Play selection has a lot to do with how the game rolls along.
Edmonton has a good Dline.
Why don't we wait until after the next two games to see how things work out.   He did take us to the Western Finals.

Seeing  how Reilly lost games last year and has looked in bc I think I would pick Nichols over Reilly this year and his Salary as we wouldn’t have players like bighill and Mathews if

harris did nothing and the online couldn't stop the onslaught of edm o-line.. so...
