He was actually shaking his head to signal he wasn't going in. He even spoke to the camera and said something like..."There's only 1min 11sec to go. I'm not going in." Then smiled. Suitor followed up with something about if Reilly's injury was serious then Glenn would be getting the next start and there was no point putting him in and risking him getting injured in a lost cause.
As an aside...and for how often I think the refs have it in for us...I was surprised there wasn't a penalty call for interference on O'neill  on the punt block. Not sure who it was but someone tackled him as he was going for the ball. I thought for sure they were gonna toss a flag.

Im a Nichols fan... but last night was worrying - as soon as Harris was down, we fell apart.  250 yards against Stubler is nothing to crow about...  zero interceptions is good for sure...  but I'm not sold on Nichols at all.  

He was good but I think the result would have been similar Streveler. I don't think this QB issue/situation is going away anytime soon, despite what O'Shea thinks. I feel like we offered up Montreal as a sacrifice to Nichols, got him to look good so he can keep the job, and now we can just go on pretending like everything is fine.
Montreal is a bad, bad team. The Bombers should have beat them easily, especially with the defense swarming and Manziel playing poorly. The offense continues to be inconsistent and that issue was magnified when Harris got hurt.

Simply “managing” the game is not enough to win it all and bring home a cup.  The QB needs to “own” the game when out there. 
One play that was funny last night was when Nichols had to run it,  he made it a ways but not enough for a first down... he took a pretty good hit on the play pretty much in front of the Montreal bench, all the drunk bomber fans on that side of the field gave him a big cheer so Matt gets up like he is hulk hogan or something and acts all tough for the fans....then he trots off the field because they never got the first down.  I said to the wife wtf is everyone cheering for, we gotta punt now. 

Unlike the Bomber game against Ottawa where the Bombers had 11 penalties and kept Ottawa’s drives going, the Bombers had 1 penalty in this game. They stuck to football.

Thompkins leveling Branden Dozier was really fun to watch. I like Thompkins- dude is a baller.

There's a reason for that. Recall the play to Adams just before the half to set up the touchdown - Nichols put EVERYTHING he had in into the ball, and it was only a 45 yard pass. Minimal arm strength. 

Bottom line is, you have to think that Streveler wins that game too. O’Shea puts Nichols in that spot, he wins and now I don’t see a situation where he loses his job the rest of the year. 

Heh, heh.  Long-term injuries to those three will give the Bombers the perfect excuse to bring back all the coaches next season.

Nichols being interviewed by Sarah Orlesky just doesn't look happy.  Not smiling or excited. I think he'd be happy to be playing elsewhere.

I have never agreed with that about the recievers... many times Nichols throws are not in the right spot for the receivers, they do all they can to get a hand on the ball but when it ain't the best spot for a catch it makes it look like the receivers fault.
 

Why is it absurd? You ever watch other teams play and see how much more often they throw intermediate routes? Now watch the Bombers. It's either a short throw or a long bomb. And this is the same as it was when  he was here in 2002. Just works a hell of a lot better with Khari Jones and Milt Stegall. The lapolice offence is too predictable and he gets in his own way with playcalling. For example we stopped running the ball last game because they thought Saskatchewan  was going to focus on that anyway, so he did the defenses job for them when this team does nothing without a strong running game from Harris. Your qb is in a funk and you put it all on his arm and don't even try and use your best player... that's an OC handicapping his QB.

I still think a big part of this was the fact that he was so reliant last year on the safety valve of Harris... what other RB in the league had anywhere near 109 receptions.   Teams have taken away the short options.  When you take away half of his repertoire, you force him into making tougher throws.  It's not necessarily that we're not getting the same Nichols as last year, I believe it's that his numbers last year were pretty misleading.   Completion percentage was tops in the league.  But when you're only throwing the ball 5 yards, you should be completing those balls.
Sure would be nice to see a radically different game plan tonight, rather than the same old crap!   And yes, the receivers don't look as engaged... is that from lack of belief in the QB?  who knows... but they certainly need to be playing harder too!

and you'd find a way to turn it into 'proof' that we have always been on the right track with MOS and Nichols and how it means we are now destined for a Grey Cup appearance.

Rod Black says something inane like the D steps up for Wpg but in reality they did nothing and it had nothing to do with being gassed.
Had BLM been sharp in the first half the game would have been out of reach long before the 4th. But...I guess some people only see what they want to see.

Honestly, stop pumping the defenses tires. They didn't keep us in the game by playing great. BLM missed wide open receivers and the Stamps had some drops in the first half. They fixed that in the second half.
