  1. I sold Mike Kelly a stereo when I worked at Best Buy at the time of his coaching tenure. Didn't buy the extended warranty though. There. Glad to get that off my chest, thanks for letting me contribute to this discussion.
  2. A good sign for the D is that Harris has to move out of the pocket a lot, pressure was getting to him. Now they just have to fix that deep drop zone on 2nd and 20 that gave up 21 yards.
  3. I would hope this is the case, but last week MOS also said Brandon Alexander just needed a rest too so some concern is probably warranted.
  4. My bad, I guess after looking at that draft list and seeing so many 1st rounders squandered I just lumped him in there.
  5. I think it's fair to call Kito a bust if we are going to apply that label to Richards (or Waggoner for that matter), and this is coming from a guy who bought his kid a Poblah jersey (and I still have it). Mulumba is on his 3rd(?) NFL team and since GB hasn't stuck anywhere so hopefully he comes down soon but the value of picking him 3rd overall was too high based on his NFL prospects at the time. Robertson was an Al Davis "fastest runner in the draft" pick, I don't seem to be able to find any record of him playing for us.
  6. Hopefully either Spooner or Couture can be that guy and we can use the I spot on another skill position (cough MLB cough).
  7. We did put him on the 1 game inactive I think, to prevent this from happening.
  8. I just went down the Wikipedia rabbit hole that is the CFL draft and by God, I know it's beating a dead horse but those Joe Mack years... we yielded a grand total of 0 rostered players in the 2012-13 draft. Let's remember some guys: Kito Poblah Tyson Pencer Jade Etienne Christo Bilukidi Johnny Aprile Andy Mulumba (we all are still waiting) Kris Robertson All of these players were either 1st-3rd round or supplemental picks. Henoc Muamba was the only player taken in those rounds worth anything for us. Compare that to what Walters has brought in in 3 years: Matthias Goossen Derek Jones (4th round) Sukh Chung Christophe Normand (I love this guy for the small sample size we have seen) Trent Corney Michael Couture Taylor Loffler Faith Ekakitie The jury is still out on guys like Couture, Ekakitie, Conteh and Spooner but if even one of those guys hits we have to be well over quota here. I think Walters gets a pass on the Richards pick, or at the very least you need to acknowledge his hits when slinging arrows for his misses. This isn't the NFL draft where if a guy is picked in the first 3 rounds he should be an instant starter.
  9. Sure looks like the shelf life for 1st-rd Canadian draft picks is not long at all. Even the good ones like Coehoorn are retiring early.
  10. I was thinking the same thing, it must be hard for a guy like Bond to get pad level on Lattanzio
  11. Agreed, Logan didn't do much last week and Rainey the week before.
  12. On that note, it would be nice for Medlock to find his groove again.
  13. If the game gets wet and sloppy, having Harris in our backfield and Nichols propensity to throw underneath could play in our favor. Trevor Harris likes to air it out and our secondary can take the ball away. Either way, should be a gooder tonight.
  14. I am stunned that no one is advocating the ditch out on work option. It's a long weekend, boss will be too busy nursing the hangover on Tuesday to remember you left early.
  15. I'm not so sure it is a quit issue as it is a scheme and execution issue. That falls on guys like Nichols, MOS, Lapo and Hall to fix, which I think they can. The issues that the team has now are flesh wounds compared to what MOS inherited when he got here.
  16. God forbid we ever have to subject our eyes to Boltus-level QB play again.
  17. In other news, Cleveland was right to fire Belichick as no coach is ever allowed to improve after a rough start.
  18. This is a step in the right direction, but far from a solution to the underlying problem - officials missing the obvious calls. Like JBR said before, that BS "catch" in BC that O'Shea had to challenge just to get it overturned should never happen. If the command center can initiate a review, those are the instances why and the fact that they didn't highlights the larger problem. The issue with the Glen Johnson is one that I remain hopeful gets rectified in the off season once Ambrosie has a little more time to evaluate. We know he needs to go, but I doubt Ambrosie is going to come in guns-a-blazin' and just start firing people.
  19. True, but nothing about watching Nichols run makes me think he is Michael Vick 2.0. The defense needs to make that play, especially with the clock ticking and Winnipeg with all the momentum. A tackle there gives the Bombers one more play from 15 yards out instead of 1, a much easier task for the defense.
  20. I would say that next week VS Hamilton shapes up as more of a trap game, especially with them starting at 0-6 VS Edmonton this week. Hamilton looks awful in all 3 facets but they will win eventually, probably at home if anywhere and we tend to play up/down to the competition so far. This is a winnable game VS Ottawa for sure, but it's no gimmie. We need this one, I worry about that Hamilton game and we get Edmonton after that so we need to go on a run here VS the East.
  21. Re: Jyles - It always seemed to me that he was a very risk-averse QB who would take a check down on 2nd and long as opposed to risking a pick on a tougher throw. His stats always looked great after the game but you still were left wondering how he piled up all those completions with the amount of 2 and outs we had. I also recall him having a strong, but inaccurate arm on deep throws. Any streak down the sideline and that ball was into row 5.
  22. Case in point - MTL trying to tackle Nichols on the second last play. He should have been down at or near the LOS.
