  1. Looking forward to this one, should be another close game. I'm in a football mood today, no idea why.
  2. I don't like it either. You choose between a potential home-run against or death by a thousand papercuts. That's how we got MTL last night, Nichols just took what they gave and kept moving the chains. It's how BC (and everyone else) get us in the 4th quarter all the time. I'm a little surprised the Alouette game plan wouldn't be to make a guy like Nichols force the ball deep downfield and take away the short/intermediate stuff (much like BC did last week when they had 3 drop deep and everyone else rallied to the ball underneath). You need to throw into some pretty tight windows to move the ball and with Dressler out that is one less weapon for our offence.
  3. I'm pretty sure I said Ryan Lankford. Damn mods!
  4. I wonder if he was already laboring at that point, he didn't even try to get any YAC and just went right down.
  5. I was sitting in row 1 right in front of that horse collar Cox pulled on Dressler. Pretty dirty and deliberate, as is tradition.
  6. I didn't know we scored all 41 points in the last minute, why is no one reporting this??
  7. Do you ever hear him snipe at guys like Irving or Tait, even some of the visiting media? Not me. It just seems to be the local hacks who can't give two shits to even tweet about what goes on at practice, TC etc. but anytime they can fire off a hot take at his expense because he puts as much effort into his responses as they do the questions they ask and they get offended. Want good answers? Ask good questions. Pretty simple, and if people don't like MOS because he doesn't cowtow to that BS then so be it.
  8. What would it take to fire a coodinator? Give up 13 points in less than a minute.
  9. The ref was staring at the line so he would have had the best view of if it touched the stripe or not. Nice athletic play for sure, but also risky in that it would have been MTL possession if he lets it go out of bounds there but by tossing it back in he leaves open the chance that we recover.
  10. This o-line is playing with a mean streak, hard not to love it when they play for you. Would HATE playing against them.
  11. Also, I salivate when I see Darvin Adams line up in 1-on-1 man coverage. That 2nd and short you could see coming from a mile away, and Adams made a nice grab to stretch the field for us.
  12. Thorpe sure looks like he might be the answer to our import WR question, sure handed and just mows guys over upfield. Very north-south, get the ball and get yards player.
  13. This is exactly it, that is why I love Ed Tait and Bob Irving. They can be critical of the team without running with a predetermined narrative, plus they actually give a **** about football whereas Wiecek can't wait to leave the stadium to go watch the ponies.
  14. But...but... the reporters are the conduit between fans and players!!! We need them to get us answers on how the players need to keep playing hard, battling and giving 110%!
  15. Yeah, Wade Miller has done a godawful job of resurrecting this team from the steaming pile of garbage he inherited it in. When does Wiecek accept his Pulitzer for this masterpiece?
  16. I don't think it was reasonable to expect a rookie like Loffler to come in and play like he did, let alone start him week 1. All credit to Loffler who stepped up when he got his opportunity but I think it people would have had knives out for MOS if he started a 3rd round pick Canadian S on opening night.
  17. The same can be said for Dickenson in CGY, the team he inherited was built to win immediately. MOS/Walters took a team in shambles and has markedly improved each year. While I still have reservations that Nichols is THE guy to take us to the Grey Cup, this team is showing that they can compete with the upper echelon teams (save for CGY, those bastards) and that wasn't the case two years ago.
  18. From what I see, O' Shea has improved year over year and hopefully will continue to do so. There is something to be said for organizational stability and I think that plays a large role in FA signings and player retention. O' Shea is not without his failings and definitely has room to improve as an HC, but I see him as a coach on the rise and personally I am thankful that he is our coach as I believe that he is the guy that can lead us going forward. You see what he does for his players and there is no doubt that they way he conducts himself to them has a positive impact and plays a huge role in guys like Westerman and Okpaulaugo coming here and a guy like Chungh who some thought would bolt the second he could hit FA signing an extension.
  19. Conversely, everyone would be bitching if he went all Chris Jones/Mike Kelly and aired everything out via the media. Some people's minds are made up and nothing MOS can do will change that.
  20. Agreed 100%. Firing a coordinator mid season is throwing in the towel on the entire year and our coordinators (warts and all) would be head and shoulders above any interim guy brought in. We ride out this season and evaluate in the off-season.
  21. I'm thinking Darvin Adams goes on a little run here.
  22. Yeah my thought was more to improve communication, or to separate the rookies so they aren't isolated on one side of the field. I thought too that if say you had Heath and Alexander on one side together and they were running zone, the QB needs to be accurate and on time with the throw or a guy like Heath can jump the route. Just another way to possibly help out the new guys.
  23. I'm no expert so hopefully someone with more knowledge can enlighten me but wouldn't it make sense to split up Heath and Randle on opposite sides to prevent a team from staying away from them entirely as opposed to going unbalanced?
