Sure, I’ll put together a mock when it makes sense. Since I know I’m who you’re asking about.

Remember the mock drafts I shot down last year? And how I told you it was a bad draft year? I do. But in case you don’t …

First overall pick went 16, nailed it. Our first pick at 8 went 20th, nailed it. 10 and 11 (as OL, nonetheless) went 48th and 57th and their situations didn’t change at all. I’m not criticizing his mock draft because he’s a bit off. I criticize it because it’s never even close, because he has no clue.

    Receipts!

Not sure I get the vitriol towards 3downnation and John Hodge. We all love the CFL. TSN and Sportsnet barely cover any off season news. Even in season, while broadcasting games, TSN is pretty light on content other than game summary articles. 3downnation has been around since 2015 and overall does a better job than anywhere else with CFL news. cfl.ca is good, and Ed Tait writes some really interesting content on bluebombers.com. But 3downnation is really my first stop to get any CFL content that I'm interested in - signings, draft profiles, USports stuff, CFL players in the NFL ... I like what they do. And I am in no way affiliated or compensated by the 3downnation corporation 😃

Providing up to date information is what they do well. But, as soon as they start adding their perspective and opinions, they're exposed as bad amateurs.

Hodge being one of the worst.

Hodges mock draft. I can’t see us taking 2 FBs in the first 3 rounds. But I’d love to get a versatile fb who can block play teams and do some power running.

And you would spend draft capital in the first 3 rounds to do this? Or, you would wait until later in the draft to fill out your special teams depth and add an American FB to do some blocking and power running?

It seems like the players' attitude towards voting for awards is quite laid-back, with a touch of humour. The reference to watching film throughout the week suggests their primary focus on the game itself, and the casual approach to filling out the ballot reflects the perception that the awards are more about reputation than a serious consideration. The anecdote about a player forgetting whom he voted for adds a light-hearted element to the overall discussion, resembling locker room banter.

this is the only correct take.

No, thanks. It certainly has not improved the product.

I got tired of watching McEwen point his way into these.

Koe clearly did not belong out there and lost in his own provincial playdowns.

I would love to see the cfl do in game advanced/specialized/charts/ngs stats in a few areas for the game of the week. Yards after contact, tackle depth, qb hurries/hits, player speeds, ball velocity, average separation, play/formation break downs charts, yards per target, tackle % etc.

I would be happy if the CFL could just share the stats.

With all of the rule changes especially for residency qualifying & the addition of extra teams, two pools now, less games played per team. I believe a lot of fans have given up on the game. The format is very confusing & the Brier seems to have lost its lustre. It's all about qualifying for the OLympic Trials now. Not winning your country's curling championship for the curlers.

The best curlers are in Alberta now. The best team is from Newfoundland playing under the banner of Canada. Remember when the Brier was played in big venues like Saskatchewan Place, The Saddledome, Canada Life Centre or Rogers Colliseum? Every year when it was played out West on the Prairies, they'd always talk about setting new attendance records. Now, the venues are 7 or 8,000 seats. Lots of unsold seats during the draws during the week. Next year the Brier is in Moose Jaw. No attendance records will be set.

I am a bit confused by the need for all the changes. I'm a bit old school and thought it meant more when each province was represented by one team, plus Northern Ontario. I was fine with adding Team Canada. That was nice.

But, for example, Alberta's Koe this year. He's been bad all year, yet he had enough points to get a spot Brier. A wasted spot.

All of these changes and we're falling behind the rest of the world at the top. We block too many young curlers.

When was the last time Manitoba won the Brier? Is it 20 years now?

2011. Haven't had a really competitive rink since Stoughton. This whole generation is disappointing.

Dunstone is very VERY good... just having a bad week. He's still easily the best Manitoba men's curler we have right now. And honestly, Canada is so far behind everyone else in the world right now, it's not going to matter much anyhow. Italy, UK, Sweden... all better than us right now.

    Mid.

  10. Dunstone with a bad blunder in 9. Why try to push for an 11th end, when you'll be in the same position? And, both teams had around 3 minutes left going into the 10th, with a much greater chance of making an error and Dunstone stealing one. Just mind boggling.

I didn't think any of the MB teams would make the playoffs. This continues to be such a disappointing generation of players.

I expect McEwen to crumble as he usually does.

  11. The combine (settle down Rider fans) was on our TV quite a bit last week/end. Sure would have been nice to know which of those players were on our (or any other CFL team's) neg list. The CFL misses so often on the easy stuff.
