I forgot about that incident and didn't realize it was Judge.
I don't know what precipitated it and I wouldn't want to excuse it in any way.  I would say though that it appears to have been a one time thing with Judge, versus Awe doing his shenanigans game in and game out.  One of the most egregious things that he does that really bothers me is when a team is taking a knee, he runs in hard as if he's going to try and get a sack on the QB which I think is totally uncalled for.

Judge is an excellent LB and definitely should have been in the running for an all star spot.  I would take him on my team before Awe every day of the week.  I don't feel like he does the dirty, after the whistle stuff like Awe does.

I wasn't sure who posted it but there was some discussion involving Bob Irving, Duane Forde and others who noted that there's a concerted effort to brand Kelly the face of the CFL and in doing so, it might influence voting.
It rubbed me the wrong way.
Don't get me wrong, anything that can be done (within reason) to create hype  in markets that are struggling I'm all for it.  It's why when some around here were griping about how TSN was focusing on BC's new owner so much that I took the exact opposite tact.  We need invested owners like that.  It helps create an invested fanbase.  That said, don't snub a guy simply to fit an agenda - that's just wrong.  Brady has EARNED both the MOP and MOC this season.

so FWIW, both Dave Naylor and Marshall Ferguson have publicly said Brady O should win the MOP over Chad Kelly. Not sure if that means anything, but it's interesting that there is some national media sentiment in Brady's favour, which is surprising to me.... maybe there's a chance they actually get this right?

I don't disagree with you... Those short trips, especially the Hamilton games, are not plane rides which is a huge advantage.
Average distance per trip falls out like this:
    Toronto: 1174
    Hamilton: 1233
    Winnipeg: 1288
    Saskatchewan: 1438
    Ottawa: 1440
    Edmonton: 1463
    Montreal: 1498
    Calgary: 1651
    BC: 1978
And yes, I did factor in TD Atlantic this time.

I didn't (totally forgot about it), that would have actually added to Toronto's total because that was technically a home game for them so counted as 0km, and just would have added to Saskatchewan's distance.  It actually makes the travel distance even less lopsided than I would have expected for Toronto.
    Added it above now.

I picked the visitors in both games this weekend.
As much as Calgary's offence has sputtered, they pulled out that win in BC 2 weeks ago and I think they can do it again.
For Hamilton, I felt like Bo Levi Mitchell's throws were looking a lot more like the old Bo, but his receivers were letting him down.  I think with Tim White back in the lineup this week, Bo will have better support on the receiver side and that they will be able to pull off the upset in Montreal.

I wanted nothing more than for Liegghio to figure it out and become that 20-year veteran NI kicker that stays with us forever.... but man oh man, am I ever thankful for Serge and what he's been able to do this year. That game in Calgary proved that he's ready to to be clutch in the crazy Canadian early-winter playoffs...

Since I'm on a rant about MOP posers...cause that's what they are..how does a QB with 23 TD passes become a serious contender for MOP? Brown had 9 in 2 and half games. 30 is the bare minimum imo or else voters should be looking elsewhere because 23 screams game manager only.
Also since Labor Day..7TD passes vs 5 INTs. Not MOP numbers when the season got real.
Consistency all season long has to be a consideration with a slight bias to performance after Labor Day when you are facing the stiffest competition. In that regard both Kelly and Betts can hardly be considered outstanding. Maybe MPP..most pedestrian.

I'll take a shot at that.
My bias is how he approached sitting in the head chair. I think where his strengths lay are as a Head Coach, not as an assistant coach calling plays. I think he's a motivator, a team cohesion guy, a get good feel for getting the most out of his players, a wally Buono type coach where his coordinators do the X's and o's and he leads the team from the people end of things. He got Montreal to the playoffs two years in a row in challenging environment and I think if the little gremlin man hadn't been the GM and hadn't given the HC job to his bud (JM), he would have grown into a great Head Coach. I know professional sports is immediate results, what have you done for me lately but give him a bit of growing pains leeway and reap the rewards.
