Sard reacted to Arnold_Palmer in 3 stars + HH banjo beatdown
Leggett is simply just a play maker. The MVP of our defense. Whether it's a big tackle, timely INT, forced fumble, perfect coverage, or a big ST play you just put him anywhere in our lineup and he's going to make something good happen. One if not the most underrated player in the entire league.

Leggett inching up the list of my all time favorite Bombers.

minus one thousand stars to refs for this game and the other game in the CFL.
horrible performance today by them.
sask blatant holding, nothing. went un noticed. How can these people not see it when a d lineman is tackled in the open field?
Put improve refs on Ambrosie to do list.
I don't care if it's a hard job. There are lots of hard jobs in this world.

Bombers should make sure Legget retires a Bomber and becomes a coach here.

Not very well, but well enough to win. Some dangerous passes, 1 very bad early pass dropped by a db and that fumble. Much like our D over all. Played well enough to win, but not their best. Good bit of room for improvement.

It would be nice if something like this could make Toronto care. Too many massive tools there for that to happen any time soon.

the way to end this nonsense is to blow in a play, and once it is blown in, injury or no injury, the play continues. The Sask player has the option to continue fake writhing in pain or get up and join the play. After the second time they look completely stupid, this play-acting garbage ends. But it takes refs with the balls to do it, and that requires league leadership to tell them they have the go ahead. Randy Ambrosie has impressed me this far, and I hope he continues to do so.

To each their own.
Matt Dunigan as a color guy for football and Jim Hughson for hockey are my favorites. Both get me emotionally into the game.

Suitor was on 1290 yesterday and must have referenced the fake Rider injuries....AS A BOMBER EXCUSE...about 4 times. No where have I seen a Bomber use that as an excuse for the loss. Did they like it? No. Did the Riders deserve the W, absolutely. Darren Cameron rightly took objection with Rod Pedersen making the same accusation.
Suitor's like Pedersen, only he's played the game and is half intelligent at least. Anytime there's a fire to stoke, this numbskulls go full board. I suppose a Rider fan could rightly accuse Dougie and Westwood of doing the same here.
Maybe it's my bias, but I find Stegall extremely professional. He likes the Bombers, but doesn't stop him from being objective. FWIW 85 said all fair game re: Riders and their "injuries".
And Cuthbert....by golly, he's one of the best in biz.

I, too, am intrigued by this... someone spouts off a random accusation as fact with absolutely nothing to support it...
Curious to see where this goes... or did the troll catch his bait?

Sard reacted to SPuDS in Labour Day Classic: Winnipeg @ Saskatchewan
oh? please feel free to show me were our coach has played fast and loose with the rules of the game in any fashion even remotely similar to Jones has in Sask..

Sard reacted to SPuDS in Labour Day Classic: Winnipeg @ Saskatchewan
isnt that exactly what you said he doesn't do? pushes it to the edge? Well if he clears the play with the officials and its clearly legal.. how is that.. "pushing boundries"??
-
Sard reacted to SPuDS in Labour Day Classic: Winnipeg @ Saskatchewan
except he doesn't. he actually makes sure what he is doing is on the up and up and doesn't just assume or hope that its ok. He does things the correct way unlike some other coaches in the league.
as for the second part, its the timing and the use of this flop on the ground like im dead move thats in question.. not the use of it at all. its readily made knowledge that coaches use this from time to time but to do it exactly when we go to use the hurry up? like, right on cue as we step up to the line to snap the ball? dirty pool old man.

Sard reacted to Booch in New DB arriving?
Just look back to the games when all 3 were in and how effective that was...now mix in Dressler as well into that 4 headed monster...big play capabilities there and would be a nightmare covrage wise..especially when in Cheetah

Sard reacted to Booch in New DB arriving?
yeah he did...but Thorpe still offers more on offence and potentially ST's than Lankford does...that's the issue.
Imagine having Harris, Flanders and Thorpe in certain sets...If the defense is trying to key on one of Flanders or Harris then most likely Thorpe is going to be isolated on one guy and we all know what he can do with yac and making guys miss, or just breaking a tackle...now imagine him one on one and breaking free in an open filed and not contending with the extra guy or two who are pre-occupied with Harris/Flander... instead of Lankford out there who cant play a part in that scheme and is usually just taking a corner out of the fraccass down a sideline

Sard reacted to BigBlue in Advising Management
Ever felt like you were in a Monty Python movie and you were waving your arms madly at the passersby to get their attention .... only you had no arms: that is sometimes how it feels to be a Bomber fan - 'C'mon make that trade.... sign that free agent ... don't stand there, do something!'
Play Poop Johnson, prefer Thorpe to Lankford, bring in a better LB/Db .... do something about Hurl and especially Ritchie Hall
It can be a helpless feeling to be just standing here frantically not waving our arms .... but whats a fan to do with this type of management who is enjoying the status quo as Miller & Walters & Mos sit there sipping their tea
Wave harder

Who has been glossing over the fact that Winnipeg's defense needs to be better? No one. Hell I haven't been happy with our defense for a few years now. They need some pressure up front and have needed back end help for a while. I do think they have the players to do it BUT I don't think they have the schemes to get it done.
We are particularly weak over the middle because our LBs insist, for the most part on being up near the line and getting trapped in that mess rather than hang a few yards off both spying the RB and getting in the passing lanes. On the back end they back way the hell off and hope that their close speed and shoulder tackles are going to work.
As for our offense, they may not be glamorous but they have consistently put up lots of points. I, personally, don't freaking give two craps if they have to dip and dunk or blast it over the top to get the points or if it comes in threes or sixes as long as at the end of the day they have more point on the board than the opposition. The margin of the win might mean something to some fans out there but in the end, whether it is a blow out or a overtime win by a point a team gets two points.
Win or lose there is always something to fix.

the Bombers also threw the ball forward a lot in that game, in situations where it was against the rules to do it in all other situations unless the player throwing the ball was behind the line of scrimmage. Pretty under-handed to do something like that that isn't allowed in all other situations. They should be ashamed.

un·der·hand·ed ˌəndərˈhandəd/ adjective acting or done in a secret or dishonest way. Nothing secret (he was on the field in front of 20k plus people for all to see) nor dishonest (nothing fraudulent or cheating) about it. -
Sard reacted to blue_gold_84 in Labour Day Classic: Winnipeg @ Saskatchewan
Nothing underhanded about it at all, actually. Executing a trick play within the rules of the game is not underhanded at all.
Keep reaching. It's always good for a chuckle in your ongoing crusade to always be "right"...

there is only one option here. If the ref blows the play in, and a player decides to fall over, the play must continue until the next whistle. Do that, and the play-acting stops immediately.

cramps tho aren't an injury...it's just lack of hydration and in my opinion poor conditioning
