This is not true at all. Fans and media have been very patient.
However, I will not be able to convince you of this. I will say though that if you think this GM and coach are the answer then expect more pain. Hamilton and Edmonton were far more impatient for a very long time yet they were able to attract the people they needed. So, your overly optimistic view is really not correct. If the money is good and the job description is the same then there is nothing to lose. The press and fans aren't any different here than anywhere else. The city may not offer what some people may want. Winnipeg has a far worse image as a city (high crime, taxes, expenses, etc). I doubt Barker cares much about what our press and fans think. Barker is a large metropolis person. Austin would have come if we had rolled out the money wagon. Anyone that is afraid because of fans and media probably shouldn't be coaching because they are likely not very good at their job.

Do you think that the man who chose Bellefeuille, Tracy and our previous defensive coordinator, and thought Marve and Brohm were good enough backups fpr Willy  has what it takes to do better next year when he isn't doing any better this year than last? The evidence says no.

I think you are confusing frustration with hatred and a year of futilty and bad judgment with adversity.

Patience is only useful if there are signs pointing that a team or organization is headed in the right direction. You hit it on the head - its not that they are losing (though a Sask loss really is a let down) but how they are losing. I can't look at this team's direction and feel confident that it is going to change anytime soon.

Jumping into the discussion overall: I support stability, its something this team needs badly, but there are two points here that need to be made when discussing patience:
    1) Keeping a bad GM/head coach/player/fill-in-whatever for the sake of stability is insane. Retaining a coach doesn't make him better suddenly. The Lions continually employed Matt Millen, and that didn't lead to success. A bad fill-in-whatever doesn't suddenly become good because he's been given more opportunity to make mistakes.

    2) The cause and effect relationship between stability and success isn't X causes Y. More likely, its success causes stability. Good coaches are going to stick around longer and their teams are going to be competitive. Is that team successful because they retained the coach or because the coach is actually good? Conversely, bad organizations (hello, Winnipeg) make bad hires, so their coaches get fired faster. The reason they are failing (or, most of the time) isn't because of impatience but because they were bad decisions or hires in the first place.

The first sign of adversity was the 1-8 second half of last season. O'Shea wouldn't have lasted the whole last season in Montreal or Regina or probably anywhere other than Winnipeg where we stick with what's not working for way too long.

If O'Shea succeeds as a head coach, he would be the first person to go from special teams coach, to head coach, with no other experience, and succeed.

Unless someone can name another instance in the last twenty years where it happened, in Pro football.

The slack he gets, and the belief in his future success here as Bombers head coach, without  evidence of any kind to this point, to support it, is odd.

Specially considering the hate for some of the other coaches.

The only thing I've heard is "players like playing for him". big deal. Westwood said the players loved playing for Reinbold.

People keep looking for a single problem, and a simple solution.

There's far more than one thing wrong with the team, and more than one person responsible for it's failure.

Well, I think actually for the most part the members of most forums have been fairly tolerant of losses. Not long ago people here and elsewhere still were saying MOS was a good HC (not me). I think as losing streaks start coming though they want to hear not the coach getting angry but something that tells them the coach is seeing what they are seeing out on the field. This way they can have some hope that those issues will be addressed.

Our coaches, for a while now, have not been the types that have wanted to say anything of substance and it is really frustrating. We have had coaches such as Dave Berry and Ritchie who have said something even if it was fairly minimal. I have also heard plenty of inteviews with current and past coaches from other teams and many of them are quite straight forward. Maybe not naming names or anything like that but giving giving their general views without tipping their hat or coming across as a jackass.I mean it is not rocket science, you can talk and not give the other teams any trade secrets.

How MOS, and Burke before him, interacts with the media and talks about the team tells me he isn't well versed in how to deal with the press and appease fans. Also the way he seems to want to be a player's coach and his sideline actions (or lack thereof) tells me that while he may be evoking loyalty from the players it isn't doing much to foster any accountability amongst the players. They keep taking undiciplined penalties and mkaing just amazingly stupid plays over and over.

I can deal with non-answers only so long before it evokes exactly the reactions fans are giving to it now.

I don't expect Irving to be any different than he has been in his long career. He is respectful to a fault and always tries to find a silver lining even in the worst of times. He is no pansy he is a good media man that knows how to keep the lines of communication open.

The way MOS acted on the Coaches Show it's pretty clear he's becoming unraveled with each loss. These guys who want to become CFL head coaches... with no experience... like MOS... are they that clueless in respect to not knowing they have to deal with media every single day???? How could he have not known?? That's why bringing in someone like MOS with no experience to right the ship was a dumb idea. Our HC has no idea what to do  next. He's clueless & in way over his head. This is totally on Wade Miller for hiring a GM & HC with absolutely no experience.

Um, what could he give away? Everyone and his dog knows the Winnipeg playbook. What damage could MOS possibly do?
Oh and Maurice gives more answers than MOS. MOS doesn't have any answers. It is hard to when you have no clue what's going on.

Anyone who did not see this coming over the last month should be ashamed. Despite all the losses Sask still had way better talent on the field. Smith had been progressing, the were scoring, etc. They mostly were just shooting themselves in the foot. Winnipeg, on the other hand, had been dropping in offensive production, even with Willy, were incredible inconsistent, taking way too many penalties, sucking on special teams and giving out points like they were candy. Despite the records Winnipeg was the worst team in Canada by a long shot going into this game.
Oh and regardless of records Winnipeg usually loses this game. Sadly though gone are the days when we could return the favour in the Banjo Bowl.
To sum up, Winnipeg drops the next two games, Sask wins their next two.

Good work?  Time to stop making excuses for the guy. Sorry, there's no good work when the team is sinking faster than the Titanic & the record since the start of the 2014 season is 9-19.

The last 2 years have been trying but today was the low point for me because i held out hope that this regime knew what they were doing and in the end it hit me like a ton of bricks that these guys don't have a clue. Same bad coaching decisions, bad penalties, players who shouldn't be here and last of all no respect for the fans and paying customers. From top to bottom they tote the company line and it's a complete embarrassment. They think because they played the game at a high level that any crap that comes out of their mouth is to be believed. Arrogance at its's highest form.
