Tonnes of money?? They paid Burris and a bunch of other guys big coin.
    Why are people making excuses?
Ottawa hired good coaches and signed key guys plain and simple.
Desjardins is doing a way better job then Walters.

Not when that QB can't finish a season and has limited talent to throw to. Every GM has brought in one or two good players but what we should be using to judge Walters (and the scouts) is the overall talent and depth and that has not improved in the entire time Walters has been involved with player personnel. Having patience or giving the benefit of the doubt really isn't going to improve anything ... unless we are on the 25 year building plan.

A convert returned by the defense in Canadian football is always worth 2 points. To the OP, the returner isn't conceding s point on a PAT. If they really cared about what you are talking about on FG's they'd adopt the Football Canada rule of putting the ball on the 20 if the ball is returned out of the end zone.

If the returner had left the end zone and gone back and had been tackled it would count as two. Missed and not conceded and tackled, conceded, or missed through the end zone is a rouge. Because the ball is live missed and return is a TD. Think of it as a kick-off. A missed PAT returned the other way is only one point a returned two pointer is worth two.

What I would have to ask is was this the only option? Did the Indians not have the vehicles? I would, if I was a leader of a country, rich or poor, ensure that certain security items such as armoured cars or other costly and difficult to ship are on hand for such events. Of course a leader would have to bring a security detail and that is going to be costly but shipping vehicles just seems a bit extreme.
I would have the same questions if it was a Liberal or NDP government. In this case I think as much "blame" should be put on the Indian government. I sure hope Canada got some payback for such a large cost :/

I like Willy but I don't think he'd have made as much of a difference as a lot fans around here. His slower release would have meant he tooks  takes a bunch more punishment than Nichols who throws the ball away instead of taking the hits when he can. He'd have worn down through the season like he did last year and we'd still send him out at 95% then 90% then 80% then as long as he could hold his arm up and limp to the huddle because of our backup situation. We wouldn't have traded for Nichols so every time Willy went down, Brohm or Marve would try in get the win with pretty obvious results.

It is hard not to be when it has been rebuilding for a better part of 25 years and every other team in this league can do it better and faster. Two years is more than enough time to improve a team and this team hasn't even come close.
Blow it up? No but it is really not a matter of a few tweaks. They have not been coached well in some time, both sides of the ball they need several players, and in two years our GM and scouts have not proven they can provide quality talent on a regular basis.
I think people are a bit nuts if you think that just dumping MB is going to be the answer. Our defence was better than the O but they still surrendered an awful lot of points. They have to be near the bottom in pass yardage given up. They were absolutely brutal covering crossing plays, slants, outs and bombs. For cripes sake they gave up a TD with :38 seconds remaining in the first half of the last game.
This teams needs as much work as it did when Mack was tossed out. Two years no significant improvement most of the same top pieces likely to return how am I supposed to draw any encouragement of a brighter future when there is little to prove that it can happen? I bet Saskatchewan, BC, and Montreal all improve faster than Winnipeg.

But are you sure that you haven't done irreparable damage to yourself in this day and age?

What would all the other teams records be if their starting QB s hadn't got hurt? Welcome to the reality of the CFL and the living prove of the need for QB depth something that Winnipeg failed to have.

I still don't understand why you need to always denigrate those people or ideas that you don't agree with? Seriously... eco-loons? Lefty-wingnuts and so forth. People who are passionate about specific things shouldn't be dismissed and marginalized for their beliefs.

Anyone who said anything negative about Harper hiding immediately, is an idiot, period. And this is coming from one of the most anti-Harper people ever. He's your chosen leader, so you do everything to keep him outta harms way.

Not every thing that tax dollars get spent on is bad. Fixing up the home of our leader should be something worth doing. Do it once, do it properly, and then it's good for a long time, no matter who's living in there. You think the Americans would even debate something like this???

Living in AB i know first hand about this scum bag. He only wanted to be Premier & was on a huge power trip. When he lost the election he quit before the polls closed. No way this coward ever becomes leader of the Conservatives. You think Harper was out of touch & he had a disastrous campaign? You should've seen Prentice. He was so bad he gave the NDP a majority government. In Alberta no less. That's all you need to know about this guy.

The frequent use of omnibus bills  (there have been 8 or 9 since 2011?) was probably my biggest issue with the Harper government, especially since he was so against them as a member of the opposition.  I very much dislike huge bills that use, in his words, the "kitchen sink approach" to combine completely unrelated issues together.

I liked the story in the National Post today about JT launching a complete over-haul of Bill C-51.  He's making it much more Canadian, in terms of reviewing every aspect and asking for input and consensus from a lot of interested parties, rather than the Harper method of just ramming it down everyone's throat in an omnibus bill.  Good start anyway.

We are the weakest team by far on both sides of the line.  DL has perked up in the 2nd half of the season, but still a non-factor.  As long as a stiff like Neufeld is trying to block our QB's are in constant danger.

Until this is addressed you could hire God as head coach and Jesus as offensive coordinator and it wouldn't make a difference.
