maybe I'm expecting too much, but I fully expect Tyrell Ford to be a Day 1 starter for this team...

If Ford earns a starting spot, I hope we use somebody else at LB over Kramdi.

I think the smart/best usage is starting ford and platooning Kramdi. We could start both but that’s a huge risk especially when our other ni dbs can only play S.

Ford should take the spot, but we have done crazy things especially with Nis. I’d actually love to have Karamoko as a db on the roster too, but not likely to happen.

if any thing in the secondary I’m not sold on our view of Parker. I really like him, but we seemed to have no confidence in him last year. Ba needs to be 100% and get back close to where he was. If not, I’d look hard at Kelly as S or another imp like Cole.

    that's a lot of DB's....

Nichols holm and ba start. Ba needs to bounce back, Parker should be at the front of the battle for a spot. Kramdi/ford. Even if we start nichols holm ba Parker and one Canadian, that leaves us with one rookie starter. 2 rookies starting is what I’m expecting, with a bounce back from ba.
Gonna need a lot of rookie db bodies this camp. We will probably still add and subtract another 5/6 during camp.

Why do we always expect the victim to leave?

Disgusting culture surrounding victims.  This is a good step in the right direction. Even if Kelly ends up being innocent. In such case though I’ll find it in superman first.

Why does anyone expect the victim to want to stay?

Contrarian $&@! Posting at it’s peak.

In most cases, it's not about expecting the victims to want to stay,  it's about the complex reasons of why and how victims find it hard to leave abusive/toxic environments.

yep. Trauma bonding, hard to get dream jobs people work their lives for, victim entrapment so many reasons. Weinstein to McMahon many examples with in depth explanations and that doesn’t even scratch the surface.

Brand new turf, brand new team, brand new game for a lot of these guys, I would assume the coaching staff isn’t asking them to go 0 to 100 and risk injury on day one.

We know our staff looks at so much more than their on-field stuff, these guys are going to make an impression or get a chance to for sure, but I doubt it’s balls to the wall right out of the gate.

It’s not a Chris jones or dicky team that’s going to have 5 blown acls in the first days of camp due to sheer stupidity.
100% they are going to coach the guys and see how they soak it up and how motivated they are. Head stuff always comes first around here.

Moses I like...was a top 15 in us recruit out of high-school and could be a legit guy on our roster.

He had basically 1 real injury and came back and had a slight cartelidge issue he played thru...prob should have got it fixed and sat 6 weeks but soldiered on.

He's 4 yrs removed now from injury...and I been told by some people who have trained with him he is 100 percent looks real good..and has the urge to get back to football...could be a real score for us and man o man I hope we go Cole at SAM and have him as the DI Cole played last year and rotates reps at will and Mac and plays teams as he cuts his teeth.

He was basically too tough for his own good. I know Saban was shocked and not happy he went un drafted, couldn’t understand how his injury grade could be soo bad.

Argos shouldn't get cap relief for this and frankly should be punished as well. They all knew.

This is a great point. If the argos are any bit as guilty as it’s been made out they should immediately be punished and not get support. That said I don’t think the league will punish the argos in a way that hurts their on the field quality.

Tomorrow is also the first day of ROOKIE camp. I dont expect much one on one time. I think alot of the time will be showing the players the nuances of the CFL game and to go through at slower speed what practice will look like for the following days.

I can see Milt showing the new guys how to waggle though.

I do love the idea of having a guy like that help teach new guys. Dalton is also an expert at the waggle.

Bunch of highly athletic ideal size/build wils with good experience.

Yea....Moses is worth the camp invite just because if his health has turned the corner he could be a freak out there.

100%. If he makes a decent come back it’ll be borderline viral as well. He was considered a LeBron James level generational talent. Offered scholarships to virtually every big d1 program before starting high school.
He was frequently listed as 6’3 240, but is likely 6’1 and a shade under 220. But if he put it together he would be strong enough to play either wil or Mac.

If you guys think there are actually going to be any live 100% effort one on one reps against roster players, you’re nuts lol

He’s going to go out there, run a few routes, maybe have Jordan Younger suit up and let the seniors give it all they got a couple times and the rest of the time it will literally be 0% serious

As an aside, Bombers made a whole bunch of moves yesterday/today.

Release DB Anthony Blue, signed a whole whack of Americans.

    DB CJ Siegel

    LB Dylan Moses

    LB John Petrishen

    LB Tre Thomas

    OL Chidi Okeke

Jy vs Milt would be worth it to see alone.

Okeke was kick around the league couple years ago. Iirc raw huge prospect from lsu.

Moses is a super high upside guy. Said that a lot this year but for real, probably the highest guy this year. 4.4 40 pro day, allegedly ran sub 4.4 in the past. That type of insane nfl outlier athlete. Immense strength. The catch is health, he’s had a bunch of injuries and no idea what he might be right now. Honestly, I don’t expect a guy like that to click. If he does, watch out.

    Cue 'Argo's courting Rourke' articles.

Didn't Rourke himself chime in on this CK issue?

He did. He chided the argos league office and Kelly deservedly so imo.

wow this is kind of shocking. Using a league or team investigation is fast. The argos and Kelly just disputed the claim. Heavy handed late and right after the dispute is very peculiar.

I am glad the league is taking a serious stance on this.

I don't think Milt is thinking that this is some kind of stunt....He wants meaningful reps. ...Gotta give it to him and I'd like to see him take a long bomb to the house courtesy of the newbie Barriere.....Some guys just refuse to get old...lol

Be soo awesome. Be even to see him score a championship ring.

  12. 6 minutes ago, HardCoreBlue said:

Knowing Milt and his confidence levels, I'm sure he thinks with a bit of game conditioning he could play but he chooses not to. 🙂

I mean skill wise if he is any where near sharp and not end up in a wheel chair after each game as a naturalized NI he probably could. But weve also rostered a couple wrs over the past 2 years whove not even seen the field.

  13. 24 minutes ago, rebusrankin said:

Who has the money to pay Rourke this year? Nobody in the CFL should have the $600,000 he'll demand.

Cap isn't applied till the teams first game active roster is submitted to the league. Like Jcon said, you'd cut guys to make him work. Be it regular season or otherwise. Teams also don't immediately spend the entire cap as well. Some reserve has to be left for PR expansions, nfl cut down guys etc. Our cap is likely the most flexible hard cap of any sports league in north America.

Agree, Hamilton is a QB away from being a scary team.

As much as I hate them, I’d love to see Rourke in Calgary. They need a marketable player like that to save their franchise. As an organization, they’re pretty hooped right now.

Damn. Stats don’t lie I guess, really thought I remembered Drummond being the guy that teams game planned around. I remember him making a lot of big plays on like 2nd and 2 when the whole country knew he was getting the ball.

I still say Anderson was slightly overrated. Piled a lot of stats running the ball when the stamps were up big in games.

I don't think they have a chance with their current room either. The als won with fajardo but he would be huge for them. Mr 6 pick 7 sack vaj would be a target as well back in bc. I feel like itll be hyped into ssk and toronto, though I don't think he will be back this year by any chance.

Diesel had one big year and I feel like teams tried too bank on him being that guy but he never managed to repeat it.

He did, but we did the same with brady, blink, and harris. Thats kind of the nature of RB in the cfl imo.

  15. 41 minutes ago, JohnnyAbonny said:

No way would he be the second choice, and I don’t even think he played with Millington.

You’re thinking Cory Philpot, who was never the second back either. Sean Millington was a fullback, he wasn’t 1A over anybody.

Is it the Hall of Fame,  or the Hall of Longevity?

If Kelvin Anderson is in, Robert Drummond should be too. Drummond was the more dominant back.

They played together 2 years. In which time drummond put up 1632 rush yards to millingtons 1815. Both put up about 10k yards from scrimmage in their career. Anderson put up almost 10,000 yards just with rushing. Anderson out rushed drummond by 2200+ yards in the same amount of years. All 8 years over 1000 yards. Anderson had 3 years where he beat drummonds career high in rushing yards, and anderson only broke 1k twice Once, just barely as well. Anderson had another 3200 yards recieving.

Combine durmmond and millington and you have a career better than anderson, either alone is pretty comparable but nothing even close to anderson.

Yeah, I hate to say it but Hardrick was rough last year. I think whoever is in will be an overall upgrade.

Yoshi got whupped by speed off the edge like a green hs kid too many times. I love the guy and he can still drop people in the run game but he can’t play T in pass pro or stay healthy. And that’s at best.

New signing for TC.... And I sincerely believe he won't be the worst one out there, and will be among the most fit.

he’d still make most of the dbs look lost in one in ones. But if any one is coming back let it be bob.

Offense is going to be fine. We have a lot of talent and depth there. Zero question we will find someone to fill the 3rd American receiver spot. There is enough competition and depth on the o-line that we should be fine there as well.

Special teams on paper it looks like we will be much better than last year. Fresh faces bring new energy.

Defense is where there is the most uncertainty. We need someone to step up at Corner. Holm and Nichols are locks at half. I think we have a lot of options at safety and one of the corner positions. Finding a top cover guy would go a long way to making that group formidable.

D line i see similarly. We have a few guys there but we need someone to step up. Maybe even a couple. Willie does some good things but I hope we run a DI at the end position this year.

Linebackers I can't understand why we don't bring in more competition. Are we that confident in Biggie and Wilson?

Cole legit might steal a spot.
