and when he flubs one like he did on saturday all his coverage guys are caught out of position letting Grant run basically untouched into the endzone.

They gotta haul ass so fast to try and get downfield to cover if it's ever short they are in trouble.

We don't agree on much.. This is exactly the issue.  They are hauling ass trying to cover a 70 yard punt, who has time to be ready for a 40 yarder. They get caught and we are screwed.

YEAH was almost wondering if that was your ST Coordinators plan to keep things between the hashes...or just Ryan trying to he-man all his punts for the ooh-ahh effect...seemed odd

You guys were way better with Bartel at 3o to 40k cheaper most likely

Ironically our kick off coverage has been pretty good with same coach and same players, kind of proves the point

the funny part is Ryan beaking at him too....he can boom a punt sure...but thats not the be all end all...and they have given up most punt return td's and average gain on a return in league...lots of that is cause of your punter..100k well spent

Its almost all on him. Horrible move bringing him in. Rookie GM mistake to sign a home town hero.  Ryan isn't even trying to angle the punts. We have had struggles but he is the biggest reason why. In banjo bowl a shanked punt had most of cover team already past the returner, the ones who weren't were sitting ducks. Not everyone here is in love with Ryan and how he has played.

It's a good thing Fajardo didnt get 104 more yards or they would have won! Whew..

Do you need it explained to you?  If a team that likes to pass a lot gets to pass, they will be successful.  See what I mean?  Or a team that run a lot, like you, doesn't get to run, they won't.  I should have maybe said if you guys don't rush for a certain amount you will lose. You probably wouldn't have understood that either.  NVM.

You said we had the worst secondary in the league, they are 5th against the pass, that means 4 other teams are behind them. I'd say you're hatred of everything blue is clouding your judgement, that and the fact you probably realize your team is going to get whipped here on Saturday.

You guys are funny, Whipped?  Maybe, but I doubt it and I know you do too.  I am a stats guy, obviously you are the not worst statistically, so I knew that before I posted. Was just replying to a post.  But here is a stat, you have given up 1000 more yards in the air than us and we like to throw the ball.  If Fajardo goes over 300 again, we will win, simple as that. It will be a good game, looking forward to it

k...enjoy your posts and bantering with you but really?..how do you say worst in league...compared to you guys:

2nd in interceptions with 16 (Sask third last with 9)

1st in opponents passing efficiency at 75.8% (Sask 5th at 89.3)

    3rd in opponents completion % at 61.0%..league best is 60.6 ( Sask 4th at 67.7%)

2nd in opponents passing TD's (Sask tied for 3rd with 3 others)

3rd in opponents average pass (Sask 4th)

Sask is 2nd in average passing yards given up per game and Wpg is 5th so you got us there...mind you teams have attempted only 291 attempts on you and 420 versus Winnipeg but thats because they cant run as well on us as shown with 69 yards against Wpg on average and 91 yards against SSK on average...And a lot of that yardage on runs is a result of good run support by the DB's

Coupled with we have gave up the same amount of points on defence as you in 1 extra game played as well...part of which is due to the secondary

So tell me how does that indicate that WPG is the worst Secondary again...as stats show...WPG grades out better than SSK in all the major areas, other than 1

Wasn't looking to take on the whole site. I was responding to post about our qb not finishing the game when we all know our guys seem to take a lot of head shots for some reason when we play you guys. Also was referring to the fact you guys give up a lot of yards in the air, that's the reason people pass against you, it works. The Bombers have a good team, everyone knows that. These teams are a lot closer than many of you want to admit. It fits this sites agenda to just say the Riders suck, it makes everyone feel better.  Will be another close game this weekend, could go either way.  Guess we will see what happens.

No bond and dennis where not put in any kind of position to succeed. It has nothing to do with the fans. I mean, you think the fishbowl of regina is any fraction as intense as Hs or colleges down south? It really isnt. Poor management of talent is all it is. I mean they signed the best guard in the league and tried to make him play tackle on a bad OL. And both the management and fans thought those one signings would take bad OLs and make them great over night. Thats not how it works. It took a while before we had a great OL even with bryant locking down blind side tackle.

I am amused by the never comments about our offensive line. 2018 Bond couldn't make the team because he underestimated the entire situation of coming to Regina. We went on to allow 27 sacks last year, tied for best in the league with Calgary, you gave up 36.  This year 12 so far, second best in the league, you have allowed 17.   Micah misjudged it the same way, just figured he would show up and be a hero

O'Day is going to have a steep learning curve and Micah Johnson is one example.

Micah has been a bust. He has played fairly good, but no where good enough to justify his salary. Seen it before, with Bond and Dennis. They want to come to regina for the money and they think the fans will love them no matter what.  They forget its a fishbowl and the fans follow things closer than any other city.  Every practice, every play gets discussed to death, its what we do. They soon find out they can't handle it.  I'd cut Johnson this week before the dead line to be honest.  Missing both starting DT's is a big hole to fill for us this week, especially against a team that runs the ball as plan a, b, and c

    highly doubt that

And how do other tests being clean man nothing..so all the guys on riders who have been clean for years are dirty too?

Some of them might be taking juice.  I don't doubt there are players doing right now. There is no way most would be expecting to be tested again in 10 days.  I won't be defending any of them if they caught.  No matter who it is. No exceptions.  You want to roll the dice, you take your chances

So Ripper, answer me this:  Is Chris Jones' reputation tainted?  Seeing that he was caught cheating on more than one occasion, and rather blatantly?

Absolutely it is.  Jones was over the top many times and was willing to throw the reputation of my beloved Riders under the bus for his own gain. He didn't care about anything but himself. Great defensive coach but was a shitty gm and head coach. Left us in a shitty spot at a bad time too when he left. I wasn't in his fan club. We may not win anything for a long time, but O'Day is dam good man and he represents us with professionalism.  I was initially happy when Jones came but that didn't last long when I got to watch him more closely. As fans we don't pay that super close attention to other teams coaches the way we do with our own

Well considering all the clean tests previously.... all of them that a guy gets dinged for trace amounts does not diminish his career, just shows he wasn't careful with what he was taking and had to serve a suspension for it. But hey guess nothing he did is real right? String him up and make an example right?

I actually don't care if the player juice or not, I really don't.  They are grown men and they can decide for themselves what they want to do. String him up?  Why.  he is more than welcome to come back. The other tests being clean means nothing and you know it.  There is a reason why the testing is ongoing and this is the reason and you also know that too.  Years from now when discussions turn to the great running backs his name will for sure be brought up, as it should, but with a caveat.

Yeah Harris' legacy is completely intact, just because Rider fans want to pretend otherwise doesn't make it true.

You couldn't be more wrong.  You don't get to be the leading rusher in the league and put up these kind of numbers, test positive for juice, and then just go back and everyone pretends it didn't happen. I have no dog in this fight so I don't really care but in every city in the league outside of Winnipeg he is tainted. The obvious question is how many of those numbers are juiced. No one will ever be able to say with 100% certainty. That is a fact whether you want to admit it or not

The real factor is that the bombers have a couple fire hydrants plugging up the middle of the line and just stomp out the run. You'll appreciate it after this weekend I am sure. No one talks enough about Stove and Nevis and they work they do for the Bombers.

Your DT play has been very good and I agree it has been one of the factors
