this might sound ridiculous, but I kind of thought it in the Toronto game earlier in the year..... is this coaching staff just too nice, and don't want to run up the score?  That seems to be the only reason I can come up with as far as "letting off the gas" goes.   There was a play late in the 2nd, where Winston Rose closed on the ball and just swatted it away with one hand.  Dunigan made the comment that he probably makes the pick if he gets both his hands up (and it looked like he definitely could have).  Was the coaching staff already maybe coaching the players down telling them take it easy and don't run up the score and look like a$$h***s??
They seem to lack that killer instinct, and I'm seriously wondering if it's just trying to be too classy of a team and not kick a team while they're down??   Problem is, you can come back with little time left in this league, and maybe they should be a$$h***s and run that score up when they have the opportunity!

found it interesting on the post game show, Bob & Doug talking to O'Shea, and O'Shea goes on to say that this is 'a fantastic opportunity to learn from our mistakes' trying to spin it into a positive.  Bob fired back with 'I don't think this is the time of the season you still want to be learning these lessons'.   I like O'Shea, but sometimes he really tries to deflect criticism and spin it into a positive rather than take it head on.   If he doesn't see a problem with his coaching staff after this epic collapse, then he really is blindly loyal, and we'll never get to the promised land under him.  Sad.  This team has all the pieces, just scared pilots!

This is so insane of a statement I can't even understand what you're a talking about. Not only is he BY FAR the best in the league right now, he is the best there has ever been.... Period. He is the very definition of the word "legend"... He's the most respected CFL media guy among his peers in the league.
As both a fan, and someone who dissects radio broadcasts for a living, I can tell you better than most that Bob Irving is OUTSTANDING.

how they connect on that pass to Bray for 60 yards is just inexcusable.  How do you get blown by like that when that's the one play you need to defend against with such little time left!?  Pathetic...

I was thinking as they were driving at will.... "what the hell is Mitchell going to do to us?".  This could be a tough stretch if that's what we have to look forward to against QBs that can pass.   Dane Evans will pick us apart too for *&^% sakes.

Streveler having huge success passing in the first half - Montreal totally off balance...  Harris dominating...
Lapo (to himself) - You know what they won't expect... Mike Miller.  YES!!  Then we'll grind out the rest of the game... up the gut.  Old school.
    High fives himself...

All of.those TD tosses should have been picked off.   None of them were darts. Our friggen secondary was never in position to make a stop.   It's atrocious

He can leave LaPo behind as well. Run on first. QB draw or short pass on 2nd. Punt. Wash, rinse & repeat.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the fact that Streveler is looking good against good defences. Playing Edmonton and Regina is no where near as easy as playing BC and Toronto.
This is what I hoped for from Streveler. He's been getting better each week as he gains experience. I think he's almost as good as Nichols already and has a long way to go to reach his peak.

As Streveler gets more time, and film to review his mistakes, he's only going to get better.  You could tell When he missed that shot to Wolitarsky that he wanted it back as soon as it left his hand.  Things that can be worked on over time with practice.  They now have 2 weeks to prep for a good Montreal D, but someone said it in the other thread:. This offence is so much more dangerous when not stalling out for large parts of the game.  You only have to look at time of possession yesterday to see how Streveler just brings an added element that makes him a better option than Nichols.  At least that's my opinion!
