  2. No Hutchings, Orimolade, Begelton or Paredes. Gotta change my pick to the Bombers.
  3. the thing people are forgetting... will the extra American on the OL make the line that much better... and have a more significant impact than the fifth receiver?... we don't know yet, but that could be the case... remember Sask started 4 Canadian receivers and 4 American OL in the GC, to much success... on the D... I wonder if there is some kind of philosophical shift that has basically flipped the WILs and MIKEs... could be something to monitor... On the DL.. too bad we don't have one more useful Cdn for rotational purposes... what ever happened to that global DT we drafted, Edward Vesterinen?... did he even come to camp?
  4. Dont believe it was 1 big injury. But a lack of interest and opportunity. That said, dude never stayed healthy. In the league 7 years and played 63 games. Yep, that's huge. I expect our OL to win that battle definitively tomorrow. Our DL should provide the best pass rush we've seen in a long time as well. When you win the battle in the trenches, you are in a great position to win the game. I think the secondary will take a few games to gel with 2 new corners, 1 rookie, and 2 guys changing positions. Ol will need some games to be at 100% as well, but they should be prety good out the gate.

  14. All joking aside.... Did Addison retire because of age or was it a career ending injury? Like, could he actually lace up if needed, or did he blow out his knees a la Schoen/Strev...?

  16. Both ruled out. Calgary Stampeders sit out Jaylon Hutchings, Folarin Orimolade against Winnipeg - 3DownNation
  17. I’m thinking teams that win championships also win the areas of bench strength as injuries to key positions are inevitable. If I’m hearing the words lean, thin and/or don’t have the skill set we need to describe our depth my attention turns to our scouting department and what kind of legitimate appropriate criticism should be cast their way.
  18. You knew Fredricksen and Singer before camp?
  19. Maybe they can trick the refs and dress up Addison for Cocoran? The old switcheroo? It was unfortunate that in pre season that the unknown receivers had maybe two balls thrown to them total... hard to gauge how good they could be in real game situations.
  20. I'm really interested in seeing how the two new corners do after last years carousel.
  21. Pokey has a good catch radius, he's not very tall but he has long fingers
  22. As the toddler that I am being a hater of the Knights and Gary Bettman, I'm thinking if the roles had been reversed where the Oilers were heading into the championship round and were blocking the Knights from interviewing a coach they had fired near the end of the season, Gary Bettman would not carry over that support to the Oilers as he's currently doing with the Knights. Legally yes the Knights are well within their rights but what a prick move to get in the way of someone trying to seek employment after being released. Distraction as a rationale? Major eye roll, how on earth would that be a distraction to them cuz if it is they are focussing on the wrong things. Canes in five please and thank you.
  23. Especially when he has to hit a pin head because we have no one who can go get it. That's been the biggest issue along with protection. Why we are leaning into it, I don't know.
  24. This. Lots around the city, just depends on where you are.
  25. Today
  26. that was one the reasons I wouldnt have been sad to see him go...Personal bias over the betterment of team To not use a rue to actually make yourself better is just dumb...Start an inferior Canadian player just cause...smh well...personally I think its stupidity and a combination of stubborn osh who was one the main advocates against the Nationalization of an American, and his belief and trust in what he thinks are big intangibles/likes in a player superseding the actual better or smarter choice. At least this yr...well for this chart there is only 1 instance of it...and if Demski/White/Pokey and Neild stay clean...and do what they should...along with BO we can ignore that wide side WR and just send them on go routes and deep posts to drag a defender away from our playmakers
  27. Canada is getting in on the Paramount/UFC deal starting in 2027. PARAMOUNT AND UFC EXPAND PARTNERSHIP TO CANADA BEGINNING IN 2027 | UFC
  28. They'll be missing Orimolade and Hutchings from their d-line too.
  29. Step right up Bralon Addison
  30. Relevant to our game tomorrow: Reggie Begelton and Rene Paredes start the season on the 6 Game...
  31. Tim White can still stretch the field, as can Wilson. Also, i dont think Collaros has the arm anymore to launch it deep on a regular basis like he used to.
  32. So, is the Shane Doan possible hire gaining traction or was it just someone's wild imagination on social media? I wish Chevy would retire cuz he'll never be fired. #jobforlife.
  33. I don't mind either of those guys as a piece in our receiving corps. But I anticipate again that lack of a true catch radius type vertical threat impacting us greatly. Our offense has never really functioned without 1-2 of those guys in this era, the style Collaros plays, the ball won't be coming out quick. Nield is a big guy but doesn't have a ton of range, especially as a 3-4 option where the D isn't going to lose track of him. We're going to really have to spring guys wide open for the vertical passing game to take shape when they are all 5'10.
