Only 60 per game? No negative point totals for the opposition? Lowered expectations, man.

That's every thread. "This team, and all who run it, absolutely sucks and here's why" ad nauseum (or is it Add Nausea?)

Last game kyrie made 3 tackles, 2 on short yardage plays after first down yardage, 1 in the run game for a short gain. Jones made stops of 2 yards 3 times in the run game, leading to two punts and a 3rd and short. He made tackles after gains of 4 yards (first down), 9, 5(first) 3 (first) and 5 yards. That’s jones making the biggest contribution to run stops, but also frequently after a successful run. This is very comparable to what we’ve seen in each game this year.

Wilson makes the best decisions, is assignment sound, good in pass cover and a reliable tackler. Problem is he can’t get off the block of any one any more, and doesn’t have that explosiveness to close gap, lay a hit, or shoot a gap. He isn’t cooked like biggie, getting steam rolled by every rb in the hole. And he tends to get better and better. Which we really need him to do since we are married to him. The time it takes him to get back up to speed, he basically can’t afford an injury this year. Jones is hands down better in the box, he’s explosive and strong enough to make plays. His run instincts are good decision making mediocre and lost continually in coverage. Id rather play all small guys who can cover , rally to the ball, wrap and tackle than a guy who can’t cover.

So I've had a couple of trips on Winnipeg Transit's new Primary Transit system, and so far it's been going fine for me (it hasn't really effected me negatively) I get why some people have problems with it since their normal stops were being discontinued)
-
If that was his first game you can justify letting him go then.

Living in the past thread. The repeat stuff thread.

Wilson is by no means a liability and been one of our more steady guys....it's dependability....but I bet at a rotational role like Griffin...would help keep him clean from injury...and fresh
-
Maybe we should rename this to the "20-20 Hindsight thread" so everyone knows what it's really about.
-
Re Wilson, hes been our main stopper on the run, and is reading/anticipating plays I do like getting Allen in and Parker at corner
-
well I do have memories of Winnipeg having more than one Red Lobster Location in the 90s
-
No Red Lobster on Henderson, it was on Leila. Culvers is very meh. JJ is decent.

I’ll take mills

Was a tripping DB and .2 seconds away from 3/4. stupid birds

Osh won't play new hungry young talent....let alone give them a chance....even if they are clearly better....Thats the issue....I also think he values some things to a greater degree over actual talent/ability/upside...Which can be fine when you trying to re-set your foundation...our's is set and it's they way we do things now....as long as you have a few vets to continue to bring it along you are fine....save for a few outlander type players like that Marshall db who was in Sask...and a few others it's pretty easy to figure out the bad apples...and even then the room will get guys in line regardless...we need to recruit...sign and play the best talent...not just the "character" guys..... yup...even in 2022 a few spots could have been already transitioned and have the roster that much further ahead we brought in a lot of talent....but we kept a lot that shopuld have been dumped Our WR recruiting was abysmall....retreads and guys that offered not much...Hall seemed to be the best new guy...and would be a good backup/compliment to Wheatfall for what he would offer but we cut him and kept a guy from last yr who wasnt good enough...and still isnt...and will never be Imagine how or defence would look and be like with Ayers and Jonathon Jones....Griffin at Sam....Parker at corner...Allen at safety and have Woodbey as a DA...all working and gelling together, with talent...major athleticism...and hungry youth...with WJ and Vaughters being spelled by Person and Bailey.....with Lawson...Adams....Woods (when healthy) as your main set? Puts Vaughters/WJ....Ayers...Thomas...Korn...Kramdi...T.Jones main set to shame...I'd have Wilson as a rotation guy as ell.....and we can easily do that too....but we choose not to

You don't have to vote at the beginning of the week.

Bottom line, the worst thing this team did was run it all back for the 2023. They should have turned over some more pieces that offseason.
-
I agree it’s not that he’s stingy or some thing. We have a tendency to over pay our role guys and that hamstrings the budget. I suspect we have the reputation of a none factor for elite free agents though. In the end, it doesn’t matter if you can’t or won’t compete with top free agents. If you don’t do it long enough it hurts your ability to pull in guys when you do want them. I agree that our new recruits have been an issue. Primarily being that we just don’t play the best guys. But I think this years crop was much better with new blood in the front office. Combine that with the fact we took our foot off the drafts gas pedal and hunted for mainly kick cover guys, and suddenly we are thin with ni depth. We’ve gotten back to where we need to be in the draft the last two years. But the previous couple will still take time to out run.
-
I think the quality of recruit is fine, it's just the reluctance to give them spots that's the issue. Lot of complacency has set in with the coaching staff and they're content to go with the guys who have been there for them for years rather than make difficult choices.
-
I figured it was the 'injury prone' designation we put on Janarion Grant that made it so we didn't resign him... which was entirely Buck Pierces fault because you could, you know, not run your 170 lbs soaking wet All-CFL returner up the middle for 2 yards and just have him return kicks like a normal coach.
-
I don't believe Henderson has had anything with exception of a Wendy's 20 years ago.
-
I don't think Walters is el cheapo and has paid big money for players. What I have noticed lately is that the overall quality of recruitments over the last 3 - 4 seasons has been a large step down from before. We've found some good dbs but elsewhere it's been a whole lot of mediocrity. With O'Shea fixated on starting mediocre guys rather then giving new blood a chance to shine it really feels like this club is squeezing the sponge of the high talent they brought in 5 years ago and eventually once we lose a few more key guys this team really doesn't have the ammo to replace them.
