Is Alexander Hollins someone we should try to sign? He was a very dynamic receiver before his knee injury a few years ago. Is he worth a look see?

Maier looked like a qb I wouldn't want on my team. He looked just like he did in Calgary. Maier reminded me of Matt Nichols in his last couple of years. Can't push the ball downfield consistently on his deep throws. below average arm strength. Passes all over the field underneath. Throws 6 yards when he needs ten. Ten yards when he needs 20, etc. Maier seems afraid to take chances & let his receivers work to make contested catches & is just very conservative in his approach. You can't win with a guy like that who play so damned uninspired.

Sterns made it cuz none of the rookies stepped up. A week ago it was mentioned that Zach liked sterns and at that moment you knew if all things were equal, and they kinda were receiver wise, they’d keep the guys Zach likes. Sterns has cfl experience and the guys they kept all do, he was a free agent signing. I mean when Myron Mitchell is the pre season standout, not good I guess if the biggest issue is the punter then it’s just whatever from me. the other guys who stood out all made the team or PR. And who knows if a couple turned down the PR also.

Jarrett Doege walks in the door and within 4 days shows Dinwiddie he's a smarter QB than Dukes. 2 days days later Dukes is evacuated through that same same door.

If Harris gets hurt, Saskatchewan is in a world of hurt because Maier is awful.

My 2 cents....I mostly like it, we kept some great potential on the pr....I do question our punter, but maybe he is an amazing holder.... I don't think we need to worry about JT as much as the air time he gets...I think he is insurance in case Lawson' s injury fares up.... I also don't think we need to worry about Wilson as much either as when healthy he is really good ...but he NEVER stays healthy...so I figure that spot will change soon....

Another year of watching Sheehan launching 30 yard line drives 🙄 Crazy how the worst punter in the league year after year keeps his job.

Curious to see who we actually roster week 2. If its say: WJ/Vaughters/Woods/Adams/Lawson/Kornelson/Jake/Schemekel on the Dline, I'll be pissed because that's bad. Now if they say use Bailey as the 2nd global and take off Kornelson and say take Wilson or Ayers off at LB and use Pearson, I'd be happy. For linebacker using say Jones, Jones as starters and then using 2 DIs spots on Wilson and Ayers is poor roster management to me. Especially when you have Gauthier, Smith, Shay etc to take some of those reps.

We're used to O'Shea hanging onto pet veterans when it is obvious they are done. Frustrating, though.

Interested to see which QB eventually is moved off the AR. Wilson has really plateaued based on the preseason games. Not very composed, hard to know execution but at least a few times where things didn’t operate smoothly to the naked eye when he was out there with QB Centre exchange, throwing to wrong guy on screen, ball not coming out quick when they were running more of that style offense in preseason for sure.

It looked bad for Dukes on Friday. He started into a 3 club wind and just couldn't get going. Then in the second you'd think it would all come up Millhouse for him, but it didnt. By the fourth quarter on with both our 4 & 5 QB having had better night's than our #3... One of whom had only been with us a week... And our QB2 is a GC MOP... It was going to be time to wish Cameron all the best in his future endeavors. We had a very crowded RB room. And Coach Din isn't shy in parting ways with established backs (viz: Harris & Ouellette). I was more worried about having too many good OLs to use or protect. Wondering if a few might slip in the shower and get 6 gamed.

I don’t think that happened because he barely got any reps and only in the 2nd preseason game.

I think what happened is that they decided to focus Dillon Mitchell on the return duty when Logan went down. They like having their returner focus on that duty and then chip in in other areas. Might explain why he wasn’t given a serious look at being a starting receiver.

I mean the chances of cutting someone you paid bonus money to based on training camp is almost nil unless the guy runs afoul of the law or flat refuses to play. Did any free agent signings get cut around the league? Montreal cut a RB they paid $18,000 to, Toronto cut Carey, Hollins cut by Edmonton but only costs BC salary space.

Thing with Kyrie is that he is likely to park himself on the IR before long. Guy's a good player, but you can't rely on him playing a whole season and that's why you should be moving on.

Did any of the free agent signings get cut? Winnipeg should be a preferred destination for free agents because there is that bias of keeping vets over rookies.
