  2. Cap space? lol Elgersma is basically the prototype, tested off the charts at the couple senior showcases and senior bowl. Arguably best overall ability of the QB's in the 2025 class. Look at the mess in Tennessee with the #1 pick. If you want a guy to mold into a franchise QB he's got all the attributes without the bad habits that need to be coached out from playing in a shitty NCAA spread system. Perfect guy to run pro style, west coast concepts. Yeah they probably worry about his experience level, but lots to work with there. Guy who was a multiple sport athlete and didn't commit fully to football until Grade 11/12....which is also the basic plot line of arguably the two greatest QB's in the modern era, although they were baseball players not hockey. Neither one of those guys (Brady and Mahomes) were 5 star recruits. Who cares if a guy went to Miami or Texas if he has no velocity or accuracy, can't make throws on time, can't adjust and make plays if they get off schedule? All to say, I don't expect to see Elgersma up here until 2027 or 2028 at earliest and more likely never.
  3. Jesus... Nobody wanted anything to do with him. That seems wild. I can't imagine us cutting any of the guys we've had here all year just to make room for him, but I guess you never know...
  4. I feel for the kid. He looked outstanding. I think he has a bright future. Whether it’s in the NFL or here in the CFL. Selfishly obviously I’d like to see him in blue and gold but I would have loved to see him make an NFL roster this year and continue to learn from guys like Jordan Love and Matt Lafleur.
  5. That's what was posted yesterday... Haven't seen much about it online but someone posted a link to his release.
  6. In addition, Elgersma also went unclaimed on waivers by the 31 other clubs.
  7. Good news on Pearsons
  8. more like rostering Corcoran problem
  9. not me....I expected it....now does he wait around hoping another team wants to work him out as a project...an maybe PR him...basically spend the yr hoping yup...polotics....invested capitol....time and money to invest with the chance he "may" amount to a 2nd stringer....not worth many teams time...cap space and effort If he was an American kid...played American ball...and attended a Div 1 school...may get more rope
  10. He looked really poised and professional in his appearances, it would be great to get him here this season if he doesn't catch on to anyone else's PR
  11. Really ?? with all the political crap that goes on down there.....no surprise
  12. Today
  13. https://www.si.com/nfl/packers/onsi/packers-updates-taylor-elgersma-sean-clifford-practice-squad Looks like the Packers are moving on from Clifford AND Elgersma and are picking up a different scout team QB.
  14. You're not wrong -- Wolitarsky wouldn't solve our "no Kenny Lawler" problem ... but he would solve our "starting Concoran" problem.
  15. Elgersma is not being retained on the Packers PR per Packers beat reporter Bill Huber of Sports Illustrated.
  16. Woogie is a guy Zach trusts... That's the most important part, to me...
  17. Need to put this description on his football card.
  18. it's not necessarily about him being just a 500 yard receiver... if that's all he brought, I'd agree... he brings chemistry with the offense.... blocking... TE-type play... leadership... reliability (as a player, not necessarily when it comes to injury concerns)... if the Bomber decided to bring him back, it wouldn't be to put this O over the top... it would be help shore up the bottom end and provide depth... Of course we all agree, unearthing a difference maker at this point would be amazing... but probably not realistic...
  19. Wolitarsky had 5 2nd Down Conversions last year in 10 games. Over his career with the Bombers he had 80 in 96 games In 2022 and 2023, Schoen had 81 in 34 games... I can only see stats for receivers with more than 350 yards for 2024 so don't know how many he ended up within 2024 in 51 games with the Bombers, Lawler had 76 Demski in 76 games had 82 FWIW Dillon Mitchell had 22 2nd down conversions in 2024 which is more than Wolitarsky had in any season
  20. That we do. I hope so. I honestly don't really remember him all that much. Down south. I'm not saying it's easy. I'm saying that's what is needed.
  21. Give me a few minutes, have to consult my subway napkin.
  22. It'll be interesting to see both teams injury reports today.
  23. Where exactly are we to find these game breaking receivers that we could add to our line up and make an immediate impact...??
