  1. Past hour
  2. Would be late season if he does. NFL final cuts are week leading up to Labour Day.
  3. Can anyone provide info on Pokey Wilson? Specifically, what kind of contract he signed in the NFL, and whether he can realistically be seen as returning to the BB this season?
  4. Fun question from Jamie Nye....which I think the answer is obvious but curious as to what others think. With Flag football in the Olympics. Should the CFL postpone the season to let players go. I think it's a no brainer that the season should NOT be postponed at all. Not only for financial reasons but I don't think many CFLers will make the Olympic roster. But when you take into account the flag roster size (not sure what it is, but won't be too big...maybe 20?) and the amount of CNDs in the NFL that will also be competing to play. How many star Canadians does the CFL lose for those weeks?
  5. True....he is also one of the worst for overlooking everything but what he sees on the field as well. Double whammy. He is too willing to overlook character to get the talent he thinks will fit. He is kind of the anti-O'Shea.
  6. I agree. The level of athletes that roam the CFL now make it very difficult for guys to jump in and just have immediate success. Of course, there will be a few rookies a year in the league that catch on quick., but at the skill positions it takes time. Last year we had to throw rookies into the mix at receiver due to injuries and it hurt our offence for the first few games. Wilson eventually emerged as a bonafide CFL star, but only after a few rough outings. Some teams may have guys like this, but will groom them if they have that luxury. We would have if Schoen and Lawler weren't out early last year.
  7. Sure looked like the CAR played kicked it in even if it was a reverse no-look.
  8. Today
  9. I think some of us have forgotten there’s been a shift in the kind of talent that comes up here. Plug and play is the exception, not the rule. Some of these guys need time to develop. I don’t love Case or Mitchell either but their presence last year isn’t a mark against them
  10. We checked out Watt Bistro Pho (the newish location on Plessis and Regent) the other day and tried the vermicelli pork + spring rolls and also the Pho. Both were large in size and fresh and had a lot of flavour. We will be going back since Phuong Nam (our regular spot) is a bit of a drive and this is much closer. I believe they also do bubble tea. I'd recommend for those in the area.
  11. What are you talking about? In that immediate area the only fast food burger places they have are: McDonalds, Burger King, Nuburger, Fatburger, Burger Factory, Wayback Burger, Georges, A&W, Sals, Five Guys, and I'm probably missing a few more... My kids enjoyed the frozen custard at Culvers in the States, though they could barely tell the difference between eating that and getting soft ice cream anywhere else. I don't think it's enough of a differentiator that will make it stand out. The location also isn't the greatest, the few times that I've gone to Firehouse subs, the Boutans and Mucho Burrito which are next door have been completely dead.
  12. At this point Wilson is one minor injury away from me wanting to cut him loose and try someone else who isn't falling apart. I'm less concerned about safety/corner since we have seemed to have done a good job over the last 5+ years of finding guys who can jump in and play well right away.
  13. I understand loyalty and giving your vets the benefit of the doubt etc... etc... I can understand this with your star players who may need to work out of a slump or coming off injury issues. I can somewhat comprehend guys who have shown flashes. I do not understand the loyalty for the mediocre players who have never shown that they can even come close to being considered an above average or really good player.
  14. Yeah he was particularly good at destroying a teams cohesiveness and robbing from Peter to pay Paul and sacrificing a total team
  15. It will be very interesting to see how Edmonton does this year, They have taken the approach of get the best available individual talent, turning over their roster almost completely vs our approach of the best fit. I agree that there are times that OShea's loyalty to vets and those that fit in with his personal point of view has limited some needed improvements to the roster. For example this year does Wilson stay on the roster at the expense of Ayers? Do we see some new blood at corner and safety vs recycling existing players?
  16. Chris Jones is actually one of the worst for wanting exactly what he wants at certain positions to the detriment of building a good football team, particularly on defense.

  18. We got a billionaire and a billionaire plus at that as co-owner. Who cares if he shows up as often as Horn Chen.
  19. Yeah...I didnt see it as a criticism..kinda lumped my retort all in one...but he did look to bring in "athletes" and "was" successful at it...his second run here he was on glue I think...flopped bigtime
  20. Yesterday
  21. fine then CONCRETES
  22. Kids eat frozen custard .......sorry.
  23. not ones with Frozen Custard on the Menu
  24. Arent there enough burger joints already ,sheesh.
  25. Wasn't a criticism, more of an observation. From my perspective Joe Mack was a guy who valued athleticism. That's all.
  26. Looks like DL Trey Laing was cut as per CFL.ca transaction page.
  27. well I can confirm that there was a signage spotting for Freddy's on my end. I won't go on day one I want things to settle before I go (though granted I went to firehouse the day it opened it wasn't nuts) Their menu is ready (aww they're not going to sell their fry sauce in a bottle here) I've been studying the menu for months and I've already figured out what I will order https://www.freddys.com/location/winnipeg-mb/menu
