  1. Past hour
  2. he admitted to it in the post game... in a "I shouldn't have done it and my emotions got the best of me" kind of way
  3. I'd say most of the 2019 team played with an edge. With Darvin Adams leading the charge.
  4. normally you practice and prep to run an extended series of 15-20 or so offensive plays. with some if-this then-that progressions. normally you don’t get through all that in the couple series. depending on how the offence goes you usually finish that around half way through to the 2nd Q. Often, you’ll go back to some of the sequence calls if it works well, or if you didn’t get a chance to go in a certain sequence you prepped for. At the half, you of course don’t have the time to build a full sequence again for the second half, so you have some deeper progressions in the play book to work off, build off what worked and toss what didn’t. Week of prep is an incredible amount of work as an oc. you have a short period of time from debriefing over the previous game to building your game plan for the next, then you spend the week doing install with the qbs/offence and practicing the key plays and sequences. An average oc, preps and installs a good game plan for the week. a good oc builds and adjusts well at half and does what an average oc does. a great oc builds a good game plan on the spot in game and does every thing a good oc does. A bad oc, often sees glimmers of success in various areas. but most often it’s the talent shining through the system.
  5. We only have 26 points in 9 games in the third quarter. No wonder we’re a 5-4 team. We’ve been out coached, out schemed and out played in nearly every single second half this season. It’s very concerning.
  6. Agree with that. For this year, he's the best chance we got
  7. Juran Bolden used to play with an edge that way too. If he took a roughing penalty in the first quarter it was kind of a good omen.
  8. the guys who stood out Demski.....seems the club wants him to be 'mr.' everything AND he delivers Wheatfall...this kid took a pounding and held on to the rock...Beginning to really like this guys game Castillo.....without him , today we're 4 AND 5 have to mention the new db.....those were not pi penalties on the guy...and they sure as hell were challengeable...BUT the coach sat on his hands...You'd think a newbie would get a little more support from his new head coach...but nada
  9. yeah I had no issues with that...there is way worse stuff never called and that was a pretty chincy penalty....been worse if he got up after pancaking him with a shove to the head into the turf I love how he plays with some edge...He gets in dline guys heads and if it takes them off thier game cause they pissed about his aggression....perfect....Ty Jones would do similar stuff cause if they were concerned about and pissed at him ....it took them out of their game
  10. all for the bargain price of 600k+ true....but these nice drives, and games are not the norm anymore.....or consistent even in game....thats the issue...what ZC we gonna get
  11. he also said he went with FG cause you cant punt the ball as far from there...like wtf is he babbling about...that made zero sense at all. he has no ability to adapt....or switch gears....so his second half adjustments...or lack thereof come very apparent....doesnt help his playbook and his play calling is at about a high school level said before....coaching killing us and we win many a game in spite of it...and just glosses over the issues
  12. So sad to have to watch coaches that don't seem to know what they're doing....We should be celebrating a win I guess BUT was it a win or an escape from further humiliation.....Changes needed and if we don't ,we'll be witness to more or near defeats....Why is it we seem to get to a point in the game, where we reach 20 pts. and then the offence comes to a grinding halt.....and further to that the coach goes brain dead?? We just about gave it away....tried hard to do just that ,and were lucky Castillo bailed us out....
  13. Holes on the oline, horribly weak at receiver, hobbled back up qb for half the season. Whats the game plan? Fire the OC!
  14. It seemed to improve the last couple games, hopefully it continues to improve
  15. A couple games ago, we had Strev throw into the endzone...too cute...not smart....we should have ran on first ran on second and kicked a FG at worst on 3rd, while eating up clock This past game we do an ultra conservative short yardage play on 2nd and 3 for no real good reason....then we try a what 57-yard field goal.....when all we needed to do was run down the clock and try and pin them deep with a punt....oh by the way with what 40ish seconds left and their back-up QB in...and they would have needed a TD to tie Those are terrible calls, terrible, too safe but yet to aggressive all at the same time......Just play the odds...
  16. Today
  17. Yea..the play was there. I don't mind it either. Just a real nice close by OTT safety. If you don't take that shot with that read then fold the tent and never toss the long ball again.
  18. Easy on Randolph, that is something that happens on literally every play and is rarely called.
  19. ZC played fine yesterday and wasn't the reason the O was stalling out. Take the series leading up the missed FG. First down, nice pass out to Sterns on first down for 7 yards. Take Zach out and let Strev run into the D line for no gain. O line not opening up holes for Brady and Brady looking like he's playing hurt didn't help.
  20. So does Hogan only have 30 minute game plans? These 2nd halfs have me reaching for............the hydromorphone
  21. That play isn't run as a jump ball. Pickett just made a good recovery and got in there late.
  22. I went off his game log from cfl.ca, but its possible. he might have been rostered as a back up even though he was out injured. Yikes that is a lot of injuries piling up. Ott is gonna be the death of his career at this rate.
  23. I wouldn't call that first drive by Ott awful football for the D. At least the D didn't just give up 90 yards in like 2 or 3 plays like they've been doing.
  24. While the scoreboard didn't show it, they got BADLY outplayed in the third .. I think Ottawa's first drive chewed up around 9 minutes (ending with a TD) while we went two and out twice before stringing together a couple of first downs to close out the quarter. It was just awful football coming out after the half and it's been emblematic of this team's play this year.
  25. I think he only played in 15 last year. He picked up an ankle injury week 16 against Montreal and didn't play weeks 17 and 18.. Got a concussion Week 5 against the Bombers but played the next week. He had a foot injury against the Riders in week 10 and then missed week 11 before playing against the Lions week 12. So in a season and a half as a starter hes: Exited a game due to a concussion (Week 5 2024) Exited a game due to a foot injury and missed a game (Week 10 and Week 11 2024) Exited a game due to an ankle injury and missed 2 extra games (Week 16 through Week 19 2024) Got injured at the end of a game and then missed 3 games with a hip injury (Week 1 through Week 4 2025) Exited a game due to a concussion (Week 7 2025) Exited a game due to a knee injury (Week 11 2025) So out of 28 possible games, by my count he's only played 17 complete games.
  26. It wasn't even 3rd quarter on... it was 27-13 at the 3 minute warning! Their was only a minute left when they choose to kick a field goal. Had they punted it would of forced Crum to go deep (which he is not good at) and go the whole length of the field with under a minute left with no time outs. Such a piss poor coaching decision to go for that field goal.
  27. Mitchell's salary was 148,000 in hard money, including a $63,300 signing bonus.
