  1. Past hour
  2. How is that a running back issue? It's a pass pro / receiver capability issue.
  3. 6 out of 9 teams make the playoffs....so not a stretch
  4. wooooooow! kola cut at last, happy days! I’m pretty stunned. Hopefully schmekel doesn’t take jake level snaps or top 4. With out a significant step forward. We’ve thrown too much money at a couple guys, but we’ve kept the main ones we need and gotten rid of the worst of the roster. That’s a big step up. If we can get 1-2 key free agent pick ups, we will be well situated for next year. Especially need another strong draft as well.
  5. Kolankowski released, Schmeckel re-signed
  6. I'm talking take aways...INT's...FF's...Tackles for losses..Tackles for zero to minimal gain...he's bottom of the bucket for all that...and yes a lot of tackles are not necessarily a key 'main" indicator...but the definitely are within context tho...and contextually he is not good....I would like to see his missed tackle stats as well....and most people here also bemoaned Houston's play as it was all or noting at times...and the nothing always happened at the worst times And I dont recall all these bug hits and his impact out there being key....seen lotsa whiffs and blown coverages tho......15 of top 20 tacklers were on winning teams...and teams in playoffs....and around here playoff appearances are considered big success...so kinda blows that narrative out of water that league tackling leaders are on crap teams....no?
  7. Offseason or not that gif is always relevant around here.
  8. when he not true starter calibre...and we can get wayyyyy better production with an import at that spot...for half the cap hit...then yeah...it's kinda bad
  9. Today
  10. I'll assume that Montreal or somebody else gives Dequoy around $200,000. So is Kramdi at $180,000 and the 4th highest paid Canadian DB as bad?
  11. Not for me, I don't really pay attention to the Jets until playoff time. The NHL regular season is too long to really get invested in.
  12. lol that's an absolutely brain dead take. Right up there with Nye's take on Brady being named the MOP..."he only scored 4 tds!" So sure, go ahead and only use the stats that back up your narrative, whatever makes you feel better i guess.
  13. It's gonna be a LOT worse than that.
  14. I agree on Vancouver, and it has been that way there for a LONG time. Much longer than Winnipeg that's for sure. We have no political will to deal with our downtown or tent cities. Not sure they could do anything even if they actually tried.
  15. Was talking about the 2025 playoff crapout, not the present struggles.
  16. Judging by some of the recent contracts I'm not sure we have the same information as the GMs around the league. Kramdi at 180 and Katsatonis at 200k are mind boggling number that make zero sense unless the SMS is getting a huge bump.
  17. Katsatonis at 200k per has me pretty convinced that there is a big increase to the SMS that's going to be announced. A safety making 200k...even a NAT...is ludicrous otherwise. I feel better about our signings now as this seems to be fairly obvious now.
  18. If that means losing....so be it. If we are talking RBs let's talk rushing. I could care less that BO had a ton of touches as a receiver. That was a big part of our problem last year was that we overused our RB out of the backfield as a safety valve because we couldn't get it to our receivers. Mills was a far more consistent threat on the ground last year.
  19. It's too bad that ST:SNW is ending... Pike is one of my favorite Captains... Anson Mounts performance- fantastic. I really wish we could have had more episodes.
  20. Not yet, and I suppose by the time the season starts he may not be the highest paid
  21. I know it's off season but is it time for this?
  22. Do we know what other Canadian lb'ers are being paid?
  23. All fair points. My counter is, none have been the highest paid player for their position (outside of Willie, when he was in his prime and would absolutely ruin games). When Bighill was the highest paid LB, everyone knew why. When Lawler was the Highest paid WR, everyone knew why. It'd would be disingenuous for anyone to say Kramdi should be the highest paid SAM.
  24. Now now, we constantly mention how tackles is a misleading stat to judge a player on. We would rather our D have less tackles , the league leaders usually are guys on crap teams who are on the field more then they should be. You only remember this because it's the only time he's done anything on the field. I can't name specifically each time Willie swatted a ball out of the air, I just know that he has done it multiple times. Kramdi laid in many big hits, it's a common occurence so re-watch the games and you'll see he's more of a factor then many of the guys on our D. Big plays don't always equal a great all around player. I remember people frothing at the mouth when we first had Houston because of his ints.... and remembering those big plays but then forgetting the numerous times he was burned for big passing plays.
  25. The night life in Winnipeg is the worst out of any of those cities by a long mile. This was the original point from the earlier messages on here. One of the major factors of why downtown is dead is because of just how much of a cesspool it is and how large of that cesspool it expands. I've not been to Edmonton in many years, but I've been to each of the other cities that you listed and those have downtowns that have areas that are light years more active and vibrant then our downtown. Fake narrative? The "main strip" has tent city and drunken bums and at least 50% of the buildings for lease and empty. Show me where downtown has a pulse and where one could go without getting acosted. It used to be "The Forks" but even that area is bad now. Yes every city has "bad areas" but Winnipeg downtown is basically 100% bad area.
