  1. Past hour
  2. Maybe all these contracts are good for the CFL that attract more talent needing to raise the salary cap that bring more bums to the seats that increase swag sales that attract more corporate support etc etc? I’m in a festive mood.
  3. philpot is the least of the 3 id like to pay. I don’t trust his ability to stay healthy and productive over a full season. I don’t love paying any rb 300k. I do agree these deals are making me feel a bit better about brady’s deal.
  4. Today
  5. Emilus does have 2 1000 yard + seasons and last year he had 588 in 7 games which is a 1500 yard pace. He's been very good the past 3 seasons. Great point that it makes the Brady deal seem better. Essentially that is what a top Canadian makes. You know who is overpaid as a Canadian, Robbie Smith at 235,000 and 0 sacks last year.
  6. I guess this means the Riders cannot sign any more players in free agency since they paid one guy a big contract. As per the experts on this site.
  7. I won't put the blame on any QB asked to perform behind last year's OL and throwing to last year's receiving corps. Does he have MOP seasons left. I doubt it...but he can still get it done with the right personell. Walters has his own poor performance to worry about. A lot of grousing we do about MOS is the direct result of the roster he was given. It goes hand in hand. Only someone who is delusional would think we had a roster capable of being a contender last year. Zero chance,
  8. I can think of one. Who else you got besides WJ? Maybe KW but he's not making all that much. Neufeld? Our best OL last year by the numbers. Stan? You wanna get rid of the GOAT? Other than that where we going with this? I'm not getting rid of PEYTON L:ogan until we know what the situation with Vaval is. The rest of the guys with the exception of Kola will not factor much into our success or not no matter whether they make the club or not. Every team has ham and eggers on it. It's unavoidable. If we want better than the list above it will be up to Walters to quit sitting on his thumbs and getting better players here.
  9. I would rather pay the Philpott/Emilus contracts then the Brady contract. However, I do feel better about the BO contract knowing that the league either feels that the cap is going up, or they have all collectively lost their minds and it's an even playing field.
  10. Boy that is a monster deal for Emelius. I wouldn't want to be on the hook for paying him or Philpot what they got. I do not have him in the same tier as Brady for Canadians. He might be the best Canadian WR next year, good chance he will be in the top tier if not, he's 28 in his prime and came up big when the riders needed it. I get why they would offer him a deal like this. And they are probably hiding some of the cap hit in this season, like all these extensions likely are. I see soo much sticker shock in the free agents so far, and it isn't going away for me yet. It is good that we are seeing some stability with higher-end free agents league-wide.
  11. That makes sense that Emelius is the highest paid, more production than Philpott, similar production to Demski but younger. What I think reading that is we got a deal with Demski.
  12. Riders make Emelius the highest paid Cdn WR in the league https://3downnation.com/2025/12/29/saskatchewan-roughriders-make-samuel-emilus-highest-paid-canadian-receiver-in-cfl/
  13. People we’ve lost in 2025 https://www.cnn.com/2025/01/13/world/gallery/people-we-lost-2025
  14. say what you will about Kelly, the Fred Reid game in BC will always live in my memory ... watched it on a cheap little laptop from a hotel balcony in istanbul, drinking raki. Poor Javier Glatt. I was astonished he still had a career after chasing fast Freddie around all day. Mike used to have a great avvy of Phil Hunt about to obliterate Kevin Glenn. Wonder if one could make a similar one for Jones vs Brock
  15. I'd like to see what a different GM would do. Preferably from outside the organization but we never get the chance to find out.
  16. Just a few more days of peace & goodwill. I was dancing the rest of the game once the Bombers wiped out that Ti Cat lead.
  17. Unfortunately while very valid and rational, none of the things you just mentioned apparently seem to matter to Chevy, or the ownership, or perhaps too many Jets fans themselves. This whole organization seems to have turned into or perhaps always was, some sort of demented, malfunctional, vexing, affront to hockey fandom, and it’s too bad because Winnipeg Jets faithful deserves so much more than the “just be happy you have a team” approach this franchise seems to emanate any time someone questions the direction or lack or direction its management is going.
  18. Yesterday
  19. We got all of our anger against Dieter out of our system watching Tyrone Jones destroy him in the 1984 Grey Cup.
  20. Fair enough. I guess I don't see how getting the news on Jan. 2 makes it that much different.
  21. You can thank Noeller for that nickname. He can't spell Kolankowski. Lol. In 2 plus years.
  22. I got a job transfer to Calgary in 1990. Let me tell you that it was one of the most stressful things our family ever went thru. It took months to get settled plus my wife was pregnant & due in three months.
  23. That's not the same thing. He still has a job and TC is still several months away.
  24. That name cracks me up everytime. Kola in our dialect means something like 'just' or 'merely'
  25. Kola, Logan and Gauthier are good choices. Corcoran is likely going into year 2 of a rookie deal so they keep him, although I hope he's a 2026 camp cut.
  26. Guys I'd not re-sign. Stephan Logan, Chase Artoepus, Cody Case, Shayne Gauthier, Gavin Cobb, Joey Corcoran & Chris "Koaaala" Kolankowski.
  27. How many of these underperforming pets of O'Shea return will determine the fate of the 2026 Bombers, O'Shea and Walters.
