  1. Past hour
  2. Dane Evans had all the tools physically but his toolbox (head) was empty. He couldn't handle the pressure of being "The Guy". I don't think I ever saw a pro qb just melt into a huge blob as a player in front of our eyes. It was sad to watch. Arbuckle should be playing much better & not make such bonehead throwing errors but he still does. If he hasn't got it by now then he never will. How the **** did we ever lose to that sack of ****? How embarassing.
  3. For my generation, Ed is the Gold Standard of CFL beat writers and a wildly underrated contributor to the CJOB Pre Game Show. Randy Turner is the all time best print columnist. With respect to everyone out there doing the job right now, it all pales to the level of writing we were spoiled with in the late 90s and early 00s...
  4. Yup, also Dane Evans. Also, the fact arbuckle never had that success speaks volumes.
  5. The CFL does not market itself at a league level. It doesn't care about its players. It never has. It expects teams to market themselves. Some, like the Bombers do very well. Others like Calgary & Toronto couldn't care less. They won't spend a penny marketing its players. Vernon Adams should be all over Calgary hyping the next game & season making appearances to sell tickets but nope.
  6. Good point that’s why the pbp plus color commentator is such an iconic combination across all sports. The ones who also converse well are the gold standard. like pti on Epsn is peak sports conversation. Tait is fantastic at writing articles that really get to the heart of a persons story. His piece on hardrick years back was incredible, parts of it are still vivid in my mind. It’s different still in conversation.
  7. I never saw it if he did.
  8. Today
  9. yeah, being a good interview / conversation host is a whole skillset. you can't just plug in an athlete into that spot like you can plug an RB in at WR.
  10. Yesterday
  11. RB Dedrick Mills
  12. You still need to have someone that actually knows how to talk and host a conversation. Have DT or someone else from OB act as the host of it, but THEN you can have your former players or whatever... But at least someone needs to be able to facilitate a conversation.
  13. Very Fetch Look at Maier as example
  14. Yeah that was bad...should be 2 former players doing it Good job for Walby and Duniggan Or let Biggie and BA do it
  15. Ok...bonus points!
  16. I enjoyed that Handled Internally.... Most of those pods are solid. It's just them BSing over beers, which is what I want. Darren is very careful about what kind of info gets out there, but I like when the players are loose (the beer helps) and give us a bit of an inside view of the room.
  17. Oh you dont get it. I am basically cursing him
  18. Yeah, he has to prove he isn’t printers/jennings etc.
  19. Chef from food network Anne Burrell dead at 55.
  20. I’m not saying he’s Casey Printers, but.. B.C Lions, to the NFL, back to the CFL and numbers drop off significantly compared to their first stint does sound awfully familiar.
  21. Doug brown would be my pick. I watched the one with zach today, it was soo painful they kept talking about people turning it off and I couldn’t get why they saw that but couldn’t turn it around.
  22. those splits would be ugly lol. For QBs especially, once you have a decent sample of game footage and seen how the guy plays when he’s game planned for, every thing changes. It’s easy for a qb to take defences by surprise, especially if he’s athletic, before they have film and experience with him. That’s a huge part of the sophomore slump and why it generally doesn’t get better late into that 2nd year as a starter. we’ve seen soo many fly by night guys who can’t replicate their early success.
  23. I refuse to support X (**** Elon) but curious how did Wilson rank the fan bases?
  24. I’ll take interviews with Hogan and JY any day over OSH. Of course, half the battle is squeezing a few decent questions out of the mic monkeys, for them to respond to.
  25. I was pretty much out the second I saw the mullet...
  26. He’s definitely not an X’s and 0’s guy, maybe more like the football version of P.K Subban
  27. Send the in-depth interviewees to the MBB community and we’ll ‘grill’ them in our own unique ways. Pure gold, pure entertainment.
  28. Not sure why they have Ed Tait doing these in depth player interviews, he's like a fish out of water. They should find an ex-footballer that has more in common with the players and can discuss football intelligently with a bit of insight, maybe BA can take this over as a side job.
