Looks like Mike Miller got who he wants. And there wasn't that much to choose from really with the injuries.

It's an okay roster... But it's a goddamned shame when you know what we have scratched tomorrow. It could just be so much better.

I question how they chose their bottom few Canadians and lack of rec depth, but nothing major. This is still a good roster. I’m expecting a home win, even with our backup qb.

Man, after seeing this depth chart, Strev starting, I dont have tons of confidence tomorrow

2024/2025 CFL (non-Bomber) Off-Season Thread
Booch replied to WinnipegGordo's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
nope...maybe early on but he not now...I know that for a fact yup...as a returner and a cover teams guy... -
Thats it eh?....RB and nothing else....and thats according to??? yes he played teams...Osh even commented that he was out there just destroying guys....Stop being fixated on the "rb" attached to his name....means jack.. and him....and Logan for that matter being on field at same time does not mean it takes away touches for BO....He will get his touches....but also I hope this yr now we dont have Buck that we distribute the ball to guys who are open...or have the best play developing....its not about who touches the ball the most...ot's about how you go about touches to get a win yeah that makes more sense....a raw rookie with limited skill set..seems like an odd choice White showed more than Sterns...Hall showed more than both them....White offers more to in the run facet of our game which I assume we will be leaning on....guess we will see but putting a guy on our roster who couldnt stay on Sask's isnt a win in my books...thats a fail MOS shouldnt get the benefit of the doubt based on a lot of his rostering....some people around here think he's just this other worldly god who does everything right...and he aint...no coach is

Was it while he was holding up his phone saying 'seeeeeee' showing everyone his screen that Rourke received CFL week 1 top offensive player?

Sterns beaten Mitchell for the roster spot and people here says he doesnt make sense to be in the lineup. Lol! I'll give MOS & Hogan the benefit of the doubt than people who are just relying on the preason games and updates from X and 3DN.

Cobb would make sense over rostering so many lbs.
-
John Hodge just admitted to being the 1 vote for Rourke as the #1 player in the CFL
-
Sterns earning a lot of disrespect already, he's starting over Mitchell for a reason as is Wheatfall, they've both earned the opportunity to prove their value, should probably give them a chance to demonstrate their ability.

LaFrance and Coombs came same year and Demski came into U of M one year later. All tailbacks from high school. LaFrance and Coombs both went to Sturgeon, LaFrance a year older and played a year with Rifles. Coombs was mostly recruited as a corner, even by the Bisons. Demski scored 8 TD's in the WHSFL D1 Championship game. And Dobie picked Coombs and LaFrance over him at tailback, which probably wasn't the best decision for them competitively because they mostly had horseshit QB's and really limited Demski's touches. Demski by far the best player of the 3, and most dangerous with the ball in his hands. Coombs was very boom or bust as a tailback even back to Sturgeon and high performance teams at Canada Cup. LaFrance was best suited to being an every down back. Demski really never got a chance at it with Bisons.

Or just put Person in for Ayers if he's an impact player. We have 8-9 guys on who IMO are mostly there for special teams. So that number is potentially a little high. Our offense is incredibly thin. I can't see changing much on that side to dress another guy on D.

2024/2025 CFL (non-Bomber) Off-Season Thread

If you aren't going to carry a backup imp Wr, might as well carry 2 Canadians. especially if 1 has actual roster value. -
This is not football from 25 years ago. 1 back in the nfl last year averaged 20 carries a game for the season. The best running backs in the world do not take all the carries anymore. And this isn't a new thing. Also, short of injury corcoran isnt getting 3 snaps either. Cobb in even for Corcoran would make a lot of sense.

Fatty Liver replied to WinnipegGordo's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I think he's recovered, they're giving Corcoran a chance to show he belongs, but I think they'll eventually switch places as Cobb has more versatility. -
Another easy swap is to roster Cobb over Stearns, start Corcoran as the decoy/5th receiver (at least while we have 3 imp OL) and get Woods or Person onto the roster for DL.
-
Cooley would get 3 snaps a game if that. Can he play special teams cuz if not you’re wasting a spot. Logan makes sense as he can replace Vaval and is a proven commodity in the league. He can rb kr and prob play receiver. Cooley can for sure be a RB and that’s it. Brady is the best back in the league. You ain’t giving the extra back many touches. Can Cooley block even? I’m not stuck on him having to be a receiver. I’m stuck on him just being a RB when we have the best one in the league. It makes no sense to roster him right now. None. Zero.
-
Rashevsky prob wouldn’t make the Jets. He’s scoring at a 0.6 ppg pace in the K. Do ppl see who leads the K in scoring? Guys who aren’t good enough to play in the nhl. I have my doubts his game translates well to North America. I think Chibrikov and maybe lambert but not sold on big bad Brad yet could be nhl forwards. Salo on d. Yager ceiling is 2C.

Blue Bombers - 2025 Regular Season - Discussion Thread
wbbfan replied to Atomic's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
WJ has experience at wr, wanna flip him out there? The back up, corcoran only has cis experience. We did it because we had to, thats the point. If we end up in that situation, it's MCI/corcoran at wr. MCI isn't close to becoming a skill position player atm. -

HardCoreBlue replied to WinnipegGordo's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I'm trying correlate this analogy to how he contributes on and off the football field and what I've come up with is this analogy (probably) fits way better with his off field contributions than it does to his on-field contributions. It's a tough gig being a professional head coach I get it but when he is on the field providing no push up the middle taking snaps away from others do these off field contributions cancel that out? Apparently MOS says yes, he's earned it. -
I'd flip griffin to starting corner, take bridges off and put cooley on. That leaves us with Vaval as the dime and kr, plus ayers/shay/smith who can fill in in a pinch as the dime wil, or S. Carrying 2 back up imp dbs, plus ayers who has played some S and Sam in camp/pre season, and shay/smith is pretty wild when you have no back up imp wr, rb, de, or dt. At that point, I'd actually go with another imp DL over cooley currently. But I'd take off an IMP lber for cooley/an imp wr as well. Youre stuck on cooley is a starting wr now! No one is making that case. He'd be a sub pack player as a varied back field threat, and the back up imp wr in case of injury that we do not have. Cooley as the emergency wr > Just corcoran. 2 guys go down MCI is playing wr, and he's not even a RB yet.
