If we are down 7 in the last minute of the game, and I can pick any receiver in the CFL to throw long to, it's Kenny Lawler every time.

You are more than welcome to recruit for a fantasy league here, but I would caution anyone on sending money to someone you don't know or just just posting here.- 2026 CFL Around The League (Not Bombers Specific)
Nothing you've said in this discussion makes any ******* sense and the lack of countering with something you think speaks to what you say wasn't discussed makes it just that much more pointless.- 2026 CFL Around The League (Not Bombers Specific)
You are assuming that he would have not signed with the Bombers for anything less.- 2026 CFL Around The League (Not Bombers Specific)
Yes but they weren't used to talk about usage, they were used in the context of performance. In my opinion it's simply a case where there needs more discussion surrounding all those stats.- PS Game 1 day thread (finally Bomber football is upon us!)
Well said and i’d also add the importance of training camp to add to evaluation and more recent film/observation whether you’re a seasoned veteran, early in your career or a raw rookie. No one gets a free pass.- PS Game 1 day thread (finally Bomber football is upon us!)
A preseason game is a chance to put out some more recent film. There's certain positions where you need to see that. But it's just part of the evaluation. It's not about results either, it's about seeing what you're like when you line up against other guys that are trying to stop you. Remember Josh Bishop (a receiver we had in TC) that had a few long catches but was then cut and he went on to trash the team (fair or not), sign with the Argos (I think) and generally did nothing after that? Just because a DB blew a coverage does not make you the next big receiver.- 2026 CFL Around The League (Not Bombers Specific)
Sheed gets a player development coaching job in d2 with west chester pen. That dude was born to coach kids. I bet he gave the dr a motivational speech when he was born.- 2026 Bombers Season
Ooops...I thought I had Lidster on the PR/IR...I agree, and forgot about Ball. Personally O'd kick Korn and not even play him this next game...But I thinking how Osh likely would and you know he will keep him around Nah...all special teams aces...and you need that...Woodbey can play all 3 LB spots I am sure...and sure could slide to safety Same can be said for Ayers, and they both can do a quazi Jack type role all over the box Ideally I Would like to see Smith given the WIL role to start th yr and allow him 3 games or so to see if he is the answer there, and that would have us starting 3 Canadians on defence when only need 1....and you can freely rotate Ayers, and Wilson freely at any LB spot I was somewhat making my roster knowing Osh and his tendency for his fav's and vets....so if It was me I would role with Ayers in the Middle, and Smith at Will and the way we deploy guys Woodbey would be on field all the time as well in that role he played last yr. As well as spell off Smith for reps, and Shay could take reps behind Ayers. I'd actually cut Jones for one of the impressive rookies and allow for Shay and Smith even more playtime.....or at worst DA him...But we all know Osh won't...so thats why I slotted him in at MLB- 2026 CFL Around The League (Not Bombers Specific)
Thanks for the football talk, you've given me something to chew on.- 2026 Bombers Season
I'm going to disagree with @Booch and say having Woodby/Jones/K.Wilson and Ayers on the roster is a waste as you have 4 guys for two spots, as well as it blocks Smith and Shay from reps.- 2026 Bombers Season
I don't see why anyone would sign Wilson when other vets are still available and who have shown a pulse.- 2026 Bombers Season
we’ve seen a couple guys float around in his situation over the past couple years. Would I sign him based on film? No. I would’ve cut him in the off season. my only notes would be gotta keep lidster, and i’d keep ball too. I might even pr ball or stuart. i’d kick korny too i think he’s sub replacement level for a ni dl- 2026 CFL Around The League (Not Bombers Specific)
I believe so.- 2026 Bombers Season
Based on what I have seen...so far this is how I would construct the roster (* Denotes starter) QB - ZC*, Perkins, Elgsgerma Canadians - ELI*, Neufeld*, Wallace*, Demski*,Neild*, BO*, Lawson*, Kramdi*, WJ* (Nationalized American counts as one of 21 Canadians from what I gather) Vibert, Clercius, MCI, Daniels, Cobb, Gatkouth, Smith, Shay, Cadwaladder, Kelly, Lereux, Hallet, Americans - Ceresna*, Dixon*, Nichols*, Holm*, Moxey*, Williams*, Griffin*, Woodbey*, T.Jones*(only cause we know Osh is gonna)Pokey*, White*., Singer*, Bryant*, Broxton*, K.Wilson DA - Castillo, Vaval, Ayers, Jenkins Globals - New Punter, Bailey (as the 45th guy can be Global or Canadian) PR/1 game -Allen, Peterson, Stuart, Corcorran, Fletcher, Korn(until Schmeck is back), Burrell, Clinton, Randolph, Mazzcua, TJ Davis, Reese, Vpool, Ball, Lidster Declare 6 Canadians on offence...1 Canadian on defence along with the Nationized Canadian...- 2026 CFL Around The League (Not Bombers Specific)
Kenny is going to always get a lot of targets because he make crazy catches. When in doubt, chuck it up there.- 2026 Bombers Season
If he thinks Elgersma was handed the QB2 spot & he's not willing to compete for a QB3 spot here, I don't see where else Wilson could land. The Western teams (except maybe Edmonton) don't have a very experienced QB room but I can't imagine he's going to come in late and beat out someone with similar experience and more familiarity with the respective playbooks. Some QB's going down with injury down the road might be his best (only?) shot at getting signed somewhere.- 2026 CFL Around The League (Not Bombers Specific)
When? After he already signed in Ham?- 2026 CFL Around The League (Not Bombers Specific)
a lot of his targets too, are in 2 and 3 man coverage....so excessive yac is not gonna happen regardless who you are, and a lot of the catches are contested too, to some extent- 2026 CFL Around The League (Not Bombers Specific)
He made it clear when he said as much to ed tait.- 2026 CFL Around The League (Not Bombers Specific)
yup...clock is ticking there and thats a lot of scratch for this juncture in his career...and if we were/are to throw top dollar at a receiver now...it be for a guy not 30 yrs old yet- 2026 CFL Around The League (Not Bombers Specific)
All of those numbers speak to usage. The context is there in terms of targets. He gets more passes directed his way than anyone else on the field. In terms of stats, the only way for a receiver to get catches and yards is to be targeted. What numbers do you think give context to usage?- 2026 Bombers Season
Hilarious. Perhaps the depth chart was made in such a way as "well we've seen Terry Wilson for a bunch of preseason now, we haven't seen the new guy so he needs more reps to see what he's got. " But no disrespect for not just being handed the job... which he probably would have got anyway based on experience and familiarity. - CFL.ca Season-Long Fantasy League Signup
