Derrell Johnson has returned home to deal with a family situation. He is still on the roster, however, no timetable for his return is known

All the best to him, tough break, and bad timing.

Paul Wiecek corrected for saying in a story that the Bombers hadn't won in Calgary since 2002.

Thankfully for him, nobody reads his stories, or expects them to be accurate.

But seriously, Wicek has been chatting with Darren Cameron for the last half hour, not watching practice.

We have very good battles for roster spots at receiver - both Nat. and import - and we don't hear about it.

But those reports on the number of injured are bang on....and riveting.

And the way they hover around the interviews and piece together stories? Well that extraordinary.

Thank goodness we have dedicated MBB fans (gbill etc.) who take their time and share reports with us.

Buck Pierce coaching up Latanzio on running routes. He ran the wrong route in RB drills, Buck made him do it again, then Latanzio dropped the easy catch from Buck.

It's not like they make reporters like they used too; you  know they used to have to post relevant information.  Now they post twitter and drama filled blogs to get hits and not worry about someone picking up the paper to read what they write since they have pay walls online instead.

Marve with a nice completion to Carlos Anderson. Carlos gets some cheers from teammates for running a nice route. Marve struggled on his other two attempts.

Portis struggled in his plays, going 1/3 on a short completion.

Based on the number of reps Gordon is getting with the first team, I'd say he's a favourite to make the team.

Willy with 4 consecutive completions to JFG, Adams and Denmark (x2).

Brohm seems to have chemistry with Clemons on the second team.

It is encouraging that Daniels appears to be looking good with Dile being hurt.

 

It appears we may have a nice receiving corps this year: Denmark/Moore/Adams/Kolhert/FG with say Bastain/Richards and Tuieni in reserve.

 

The Freep is a joke with the coverage. Wonder if it would be $50 a month if they actually had reporters who reported?

Yep, Logan, Clemons and Tuenei all with the second team. Gordon clearly running with the 1's.

Brohm now struggling. Almost picked off on two consecutive deep pass attempts.

Really hoping Gordon shows something in PSG2. Been lights out in camp, but really unnoticeable in the game vs TO...

What's Gordon's size like? I don't recall.

 

Was interesting hearing Stegall say how the receivers are going to change in the league due to the new rules. Small/speedier receivers will be the norm, according to him anyway. Maybe Gordon is the beginning? 

Dile often is standing by himself, not with his teammates watching scrimmage. I've noticed this every practice I've been to.

Marve struggling to find receivers from the pocket.

Willy keeps connecting with Denmark. Now Willy connects on a 30 yard beauty pass with Gordon. Denny and Gordon clearly Willy's favourite receivers.
