iHeart
really? oh right I forgot, Petan and Ehlers and Morrisey is joining the team next season
Goalie
Maybe maybe not. But these guys gonna get massively overpaid. Happens every year. Chevy doesn't seem to be the type to over pay for free agents. Rather just sign our own guys if we can and promote from with in really. Regardless Winnipeg still isn't the ideal location for most players.
iHeart
they kind of overpaid Pavelec but he has been showing results, good results. results that make it worth the 20 mil for five years But EPM better show some results on the NHL ice if they are going to be overpaid (I mean Crosby is making what 120 mil to stay on the team for 12 years?) Brandon
I doubt they sign anyone of relevance...if they lose stemp, Stafford and frolik they may sign a jobber like they have in the past like Galiardi

The Unknown Poster
Im a bit surprised at the Peluso signing. I thought they'd let him walk and go without a traditional enforcer. Good for him though.
iHeart
so we're keeping Peluso (should we live chat the draft next week? on here?)
FrostyWinnipeg
I;m shocked at the signing. Thorburn seems to have more speed and and dare i say more offensive capabilities for a hired gun then Peluso. 675k the new NHL low?
Goalie
Peluso wins his fights. Is younger than thorburn too. Fishbowl much tho..Ppl online going off at how they shouldn't have signed him. He's depth at nhl minimum.
The Unknown Poster
Yeah its a depth guy. I dont have a problem with it. He's not playing every game. He's a small priced player that plays well in his role when he dresses. We went too long without a 4th line. If Copp is an improvement at 4C and Thoburn/Peluso take turns dressing, so what. Small price. Goalie
Brandon
Peluso is better with the puck then Thorburn he also is a good locker room guy from what I heard.
sweep the leg
Great size and passable skating. He also has decent hands for a 4th liner enforcer. Probably a top 3 fighter in the league. Takes way too many bad penalties though and doesn't seem to have much for hockey sense. Overall, I'm happy with this signing. He'll probably be in the press box for most of the season anyways. The Unknown Poster
#NHLJets sign RFA Ben Chiarot to a new two-year contract worth an AAV of $850,000. #bn Ducky, Brandon Blue&Gold and Rich

The Unknown Poster
Great value for him imo. Absolutely. He played very well. And made Buff play better when they were paired together. it makes our RHD depth pretty solid too: Enstrom Stuart Chiarot Morrissey Question: I know once Chiarot was re-called last season, they would have to waive him to send him back down so they didnt risk it. Can they assign a player to the Moose before the season without waivers? I would think Chiarot would start with the Moose and be the first call up but if they need waivers, then he's staying up. And that means the Jets have a glut of mid-low D-men.
Rich
Do you think Morissey is going to be starting over Chiarot day 1? I would think it'd be the opposite. Chiarot has already proven he can play in the NHL and has shown himself as serviceable. Can see Morissey going down and getting his chance on an injury call up. I haven't seen details of the contract, but with the lower dollar value, wouldn't be surprised if it was a one-way deal. Meaning they would have pay Chiarot full value if he were in the minors, while that isn't the case for Morissey. sweep the leg

One of the RHD might switch to the LHD side. Plus we have Harrisson, Clitsome (who is likely done anyway). I guess maybe "glut" isnt the right word to use... Goalie
Well. Considering hutch and Chiarot are gonna be at the met for their draft party. This was obvious. Good deal. See if he's legit or last year was a fluke
Noeller
Getting Chiarot for less than 1mm seems like a really good value to me. That guy showed some ability down the stretch and in the playoffs. Nice get, Chevy... Rich

Maybe it's an arbitrary benchmark but anything under a million for a guy who can play even a little bit at the NHL level is just a no brainer deal to make. iHeart
so we're keeping chariot as well. if only I wasn't busy on the 1st I would be taking full focus on FAF that day because that's where the shocking ones come at it. Ducky
Great price, good player. Morrisey would have to be REALLY good in TC to start with the big team... I think Chiarot is a better D-man than Stuart. Who knows though, Enstrom and/or Stuart might not even be a Jet come TC. Somewhat shocked by the Peluso signing but for that price, it is insurance against Thorbs getting hurt or the Jets needing muscle in a playoff series or something. O'Dell and Postma next?
