Thought I saw Kyle Jones out there holding on the one (missed) FG attempt after Brohm's injury. Terrible luck for Brohm.  He played well for us. Hope he recovers 100% and we get him back next season.

 

I actually don't see O'Shea as all that stubborn. I'd say reluctant to make significant changes when they were playing well, but after a couple back to back big losses he damned sure changed things up. 

 

O'Shea didn't make the significant changes on his own volition, injuries and Grigsby's release determined those changes.

 

Oh yeah Dunn was hurt that's why Unamaba got a starting spot... Grigsby asked to be released because O'Shea played Cotton ahead of him and was going to do it again... Come on now let's think before we say things.

There have been plenty of moves O'Shea has made all year due to performance, people just don't necessarily like all of them.

In his Freep column today, Doug Brown said that it would make sense to play Marve for the next couple of games to showcase him. Brown believes that Marve's biggest value to the team is as a tradeable asset. Brown sees Marve as having a set of skills that make him ideal for the CFL, and that more than one team would be interested enough in Marve to offer real value in exchange. We are going to find out how aggressive Walters is prepared to be in rebuilding the team and how rigid O'Shea is in how he plans to run the team.

I'd hold onto Marve as long as we can.  Until they can replace him or Brohm with something just as good or better, I wouldn't give either of them up.  I like Brown, but you don't start handing over good QB's when we finally just got a decent crew.

yep, having 3 qbs that can play is part of the reason why Calgary has been as successful as they have been. Don't piss away the depth just because. As we've seen you can be down to your 3rd stringer in a hurry in this league. 

Makes sense. Accumulate depth at QB to trade it away.

 

And you base that on what the fact that Willy has been so successful this year ?

Have you checked his stats his QB rating he is very much on par with Max Hall so that puts him clearly in the lead of the current group ?

I am not saying he won't be good down the road I can see that Willy does have some very good qualities as a QB however that doesn't mean he is the best QB on the roster we haven't see Marve in a full game and Portis has been on the PR...so until we see them we won't know.

I have been to many practices and Willy is accurate when he sees someone open however he doesn't see the entire field and recognize where to go with the ball all of the time and he takes way too many sacks because he needs to throw the ball away sometimes...

I have also not been impressed with his practices many times as he has been outworked but the other QBs and to me your Starter should lead the way...

Also Willy isn't very mobile. So some good things some bad... but until you see the other QBs play a full game or more you can't say who the best is...

Willy needs to improve for me to be convinced he is our future he has the potential to be a very good QB down the road but at this point I am not sure he will be time will tell....

If Willy proves me wrong this week good for him and the Bombers but I am tire of waiting for Willy to turn it around...to me this season is over in terms of the playoff so lets get the other QB's some experience and see what they can do...

His biggest strike against him was his total unfamiliarity with the CFL.  If he'd been around for more than 3 weeks he might have landed the backup job coming out of camp.  His physical tools are pretty remarkable, and he's a really fast smooth runner despite resembling a smallish standup freezer.

Meh start Willy both games unless injury or the score reflects a need for a change. I want to see how Willy leads this team these last two games, can he still get the boys fired up to play well. He needs these starts, he is still a young QB.

Willy is our Number 1 QB  in his FIRST year as a starting Qb.. He needs experience to continue to grow.. we need to play him as he will be the starter next year.  Marve showed that he had alot of mobility and drive to extend plays! That is awesome, but so far that's all he has shown.

 

We finally have a QB that that we can Build around (Willy) and we got to keep going with that until Marve outplays him in practise, and in games.  When and if Willy Gets hurt, Marve will have another Chance.

Doug Browns idea isn't that stupid.  If we could get a 1st round pick or a starting NI O lineman for either Brohm or Marve, I'd make the trade.  (I doubt the other GM's would go for it).  I agree that it's Willy's team and that he should start if he's healthy, but I'd also like to see more of Marve so I see both sides of this argument.

We replaced the whole set, and it looks like we scored a few hits.
