On the Rona radio show  this AM, there was a fair bit of speculation originating out of Regina that the Riders were indeed considering a trade of a NI Canadian d-lineman plus a QB prospect for Burris. Burris is pretty much at the end of his career and apparently wants to go out a Grey Cup champ one last time and may even be willing to take a pay cut/deferment to go a contender. Burris would automatically make the Riders a challenger again, and the added revenue from one or possibly two more home playoff games would probably offset his salary cast.

Could all be hot air but who knows?

Then why the **** did he go to Ottawa in the first place? And what makes him think that he can be a Grey Cup champion again (for only the 2nd time in a very long career) when he failed to accomplish anything in the playoffs so often throughout his career?

The blood is in the water.  With Sunseri lacking confidence and Ottawa needing a win desperately, change it up.  Burris has killed the life on that offense, it's time for him to sit.  Campbell, you got a young gun that was unfairly dropped out of the Peg a year ago yet showed the ability to hit some big deep balls and even pick defenses apart at times.  Time to start him and let him bring your offense to life.  Upset can happen in Mosaic, but just make sure you got the right man under center, and that would be Joey Elliot.

Joey Elliott was "unfairly dropped"?  What?

Because there were no starter openings in Saskatchewan, BC, Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto and Montreal.

Its called money, and everything is a gamble, right? Besides, all this might be nothing, but who wouldn't like his last hurrah to be in hot pursuit of a championship?

agreed.  Wally knew Lulay wasn't ok. I also believe they wanted Glenn over Burris. Glenn more cap friendly and even keeled. Hank is too much boom and bust.

Lots of revisionist history going on.  Buono knew Lulay wouldn't be ready for the season on January 28th when Burris became a free agent?  First I've heard of it.  Uncertainty probably at that time, but I've never heard any report that Buono was certain 5 months out that Lulay would not be ready.

Which is still moot - BC is Lulay's team.  Until 10 days ago, Glenn and anyone else not named Lulay was strictly a placeholder until Lulay got healthy.  Starting, not starter.

The money and ego parts are right, that's why BC was never an option for Burris.

Hank is too much ego that's the problem there. Guarantee that part of the reason he signed in Ottawa was because he saw himself as the saviour who would lead this expansion team to glory and hey, gettin paid. at the same time. Guy is just an egomaniac.

Bingo!!!! Egomaniac and a cancer to every team he goes on.  Hence why the Redblacks need to get the new men under center.

I mean, I say DeMarco atm is their long term answer, but since he can't go right now, stick in Joey Elliot and get some life in that offense.  He's passed over 400 yards a few times in his career, and he can do it again.  And he's not an egomaniac.

Hank is also the worse possible quarterback to be in a situation where he has to share duties.

DeMarco has shown both well and terribly at times.  DeMarco's fumble/turnover fest in Regina last season cost the Lion's second place.  All told, however, he looked pretty good for the number of starts he had.

If you're a Redblack fan, I don't know what more you gotta see to call for Hank to be chucked out the door.  He is a terrible overpaid bum trying to play QB.

He should've retired after his last trip to the Grey Cup last year.

If you're a Redblack fan, it's time to call for Joey Elliot to start against MTL next week.
