QB Mason Mills

I would expect you'll see him added to our PR in the coming days.

University of San Diego product, NCAA Division 1-AA quarterback ... was the Pacific Football League (the name of the conference he plays in) MVP in 2013. Very solid numbers.

Yah bastards, I just wasted 10 minutes watching Mason Mills videos searching for a sliver of hope only to discover they were posted back in 2014!

Personally I hate highlight videos. Until you see a guy on a CFL field against CFL competition you really have no idea what you're getting. You just cross your fingers and hope it pans out. I'm sure J

Chase Clement had some great highlight videos too!

Checked out his game logs. Definition of inconsistency in 2013.

66% completion rate.

1 game out of 11, he completed between 60%-70% of his passes.

80.6%, 55.6%, 59.6%, 90%, 85.2%, 51.3%, 56.5%, 72.2%, 59.4%, 74.2%, 61.7%

No big deal.  Just start him every 4th week.

That could be as much the defensive schemes as much as anything...  way better throwing the ball away than interceptions.

The Alouettes worked out 3 QBs. Jerrod Johnson (Texas A&M), Chris Amrheim (Cornell) and Mason Mills (San Diego). #CFL

Ummmm. do the name Mason Mills ring any bells?

What's with this parade of QB's ... what is management thinking .... I would rather see a parade of something else

Interesting.  Also interesting - all 4 of the remaining QBs are on the active roster according to the Bombers' site.

Maybe a trade? Hamilton? Toronto? Montreal?

so did the Bombers release Mason Mills? I never heard that. Or did Montreal pluck him off our P/R?

I see that now on CFL transactions.  I guess five QB's was a lot to carry.  Hope he catches on with Montreal.

Probably just wasn't what we were looking for.  Brought him in, took a look, shipped him out.  At least he was here when the weather was nice; now he can help increase our tourism.

a rumour on the other forum says the bombers are planning on brining in a qb high on their neg list. A guy that could have some NFL experience, not sure i believe it, not sure who it could be but... apparently that's what one of the guys on there has said. Maybe not NFL experience exactly but a guy currently in an NFL camp...

And why bring in all these quarterbacks? because it's the most important position on the field by far and probably the toughest position to learn for a guy coming from either the NFL or NCAA.

Man those fields are tiny

" And why bring in all these quarterbacks? because..." is this the real reason for the QB parade?

QB have real value in this league. Even if they are not going to be your starter in your organization. If you can develop QBs to where they start in this league means you can acquire highly desirable pieces from other teams.

On the coach's show on OB tonight, O'Shea was asked about the herd of quarterbacks on hand. He was pretty circumspect but did volunteer that they were impressed by Portis.

I think if the Bombers are looking for a QB to groom, they should look down the 75/I29 at NDSU's Brock Jensen (assuming he doesn't stick in the NFL).

I've lost track of how many QBs the Bombers have signed and cut since I made this comment.

Also, the latest news I can find is that Mason Mills was playing in Japan last November.

Unless Damon Allen or Tracy Hamm in their prime are available, I wouldn't put too much stock in thinking a qb is going to make any difference to this **** show.

just trying to picture the meeting where they agreed to stick with Brian Brohm.

Do we have anyone on our neg list that we can even hope to be excited to possibly sign one day? Grasping as straws in desperation to not totally lose all hope in this team. I'll take any type of rumours to cling to.

Brandon Doughty but he might take a while to get here

That's really good news actually...  you don't think he'll shake loose?

And is the door officially closed on Tahj Boyd?  I would think his ego has taken a bit of a hit...

I would hope that, given our quarterbacking, if Boyd showed any significant potential he would be on his way here already.
