The Argos has a lot of young Canadian OL, Kyle Walter should consider another trade with them. Can Tyler Holmes play C ?

 

Good luck getting Tyler Holmes out of Toronto.  IMO he will be starting for them this year.

Based on your analysis of Pencer, I really hope the Bombers are planning on extending his contract.  I believe 2014 is the final year on his current deal.  I have a feeling Pencer will become a mainstay on the Bombers OL this season. 

I was always frustrated that the bombers were grooming Swiston at G. This blog really makes me more confident in my analysis of him. I like that Pencer and Swiston are both good prospects at both Guard and Tackle. Makes me feel a little better about the immediate future of the O-line.

 

Hopefully the current coaching staff will groom Swiston at OT and hopefully Goosen or Lavertu can really live up to their hype for us at Center. Then we should be ok as long as we keep drafting OL every year.

Yep. And he was exactly the same in Toronto - that is one signing that never made even a shred of sense.

You can sum up Shannon Boatman's play after every snap. 'DOH'!

My only question is why is Boatman still on the Bombers roster?

As bad as Boatmen is/was... he was actually a breath of fresh air at the time because of how bad the Tackle before him was. Can't remember his name, but it was pretty historical.

 

 

I wonder how much better the line could be just from better quarterback play.

It's usually the reverse where the job of the O-line is to ensure the QB and RB's can do their jobs, i.e., poor QB play is mostly a result of the O-line BUT it's a good reminder it works the other way as well..

A mobile QB can make an average offensive line look above average.

Still surprised that both Swiston and Pencer are still pencilled in as RG... would have thought that we would try them all at LT as a ratio breaker and just see who wins out of TC
