Brady’s always questionable/DNP/Limited. Unless both his legs fell off, he’s playing.

  • I agree. Why not use the day to start installing the game plan? The more reps they get, the better, IMO. They’ll obviously need to be a lot cleaner to have any shot on Saturday.

New owners, which ever sprawling suburb/city outside the GTA offers the best option

I hear ya but I don't know what the difference would be putting a team in Missisaiga or Oakville as opposed to Toronto. The GTA wants the NFL. CFL sponsors want Toronto. BMO Field looks Mickey Mouse compared to PAS, BC Place, CWS & Mosaic Stadium.

Imo, Mississauga is a hard place to stick them. I think moving closer to hamilton would also be tough. Personally, I'd go further east. Oshawa, ajax and pickering area would put you at about 500k people on the other side of the GTA. I hate the GTA and hamilton areas personally. Barrie would be a good candidate in a similar way to oshawa, though you will draw less fans for sure.

@bluto Im sure you don't want any relocation, but what do you think would be the best none toronto option?

I think Windsor could be ideal as well..possible to grab U.S football fans who dont have ways and means to go to NFL games in Detroit.

The windsor/Essex area easily 500k as well

I've always liked London & Quebec for new cities. I think Halifax is a giant waste of time.

@Booch @wbbfan The problem no one talks about with CFL expansion is... Where do we find enough quality starting Canadian players? The more CFL teams, the harder it will become to find Canadian starters. If we have 10 teams, perhaps we only have 6. With 12 teams, maybe 4. You can always find ST players but quality Canadians to start will be a future problem iof the league has an expansion plan in place. The more teams we have, the number of Canadian starters would have to go down from where we are now. There just isn't enough Canadian universities producing enough quality players.

simple cure...reduce the number of starters required, and for every reduction in starters, add another Canadian to roster as a backup if the CFLPA whines about it....Cant see why they would when the addition of a new team would require up to 30 new Canadian jobs via Acytive/PR and injury rosters

And really I could care less about the Canadian starter number being reduced...I would rather see the best players play and avoid scenarios like a Corcoran and or Cobb starting...christ even being on a roster

Love Quebec city. Such a fantastic area, halifax was 100% a waste.

I mean I love kingston, maybe they could have the headstones play every home game. Once Hugh dillion is done with his tv show any way :p

Roster size 100% needs to grow imo. Teams are way too thin at most positions.

I think the quality of Canadian hasn't been this good in a very long time. I think getting away from just focusing on starters and maybe using the built in snap tracking would be better.

We see soo many hybrid roles now, especially on D. The 5th and 6th DL basically play as many snaps as the starting 4 these days. The nickle and dime play as many snaps as the wil. We have soo many talented young canadian players breaking in at Lber and DB (who aren't just pylons) . I think we should focus on and reward teams for rotating in canadians and letting them win spots, rather than defaulting guys into spots because they have to.

So back to the important stuff.

Collaros listed as limited in practice....Woodbey listed as full participant (eww) and Smith listed as DNP. Lawson listed as full participant as well.

I agree. i used to want more Canadians to start but now only the best should start. If they can't make the starting 24 then let them play specials. I'm of the opinion that there should be no ratio anymore. Especially when so many Canadians coming out of university view the CFL as a league not good enough for their talents. Some don't even bother to show up for the CFL Combine.

Tbh, best case is collaros dresses for the game. Brown seems better off the bench and zach dealt with montreal much better than dru did. Even if he isn't going to play this is the time I would still dress him.

Woodbey should be shut down for the year, he needs to get right. Don't schoen him.

Sucks smith isn't healthy but he's missed a chunk already probably too much to squeeze back in.

This isn't the problem. Quarterbacks is bigly. The NCAA is a shithole for player development now and it's hitting all pro leagues pretty hard, but especially at QB.

Yeah..let the guy heal.. we brought him back once already and u coukd see he was hampered

Id definitely swap out Jenkins for Ayers tho..immediately

And yeah if ZC is close..wtf..start him and have dru ready to go if things go south..heck id run him out for the odd series regardless to try and trip up the Als..

I'm terrified that with Smith out they're going to dress Woodbey (Ayers was also a full participant) and leave Ayers off. Woodbey imo can just be left off the roster at this point. I don't see what others see.

Million dollar contracts may shake some better ones from the qb tree.

Idk if I'm more scared of that or of Kelly playing all those reps.

Not too many, imo. Most of the starters in the power divisions, plus a few, are already making that money, in USD, with lower tax rates. Coming up here to make 150k for 3 years, then maybe a million bucks, won't lure that many. Every single one would think they'd be in the NFL starting in 3 years.

JBR's point is extremely accurate too. NCAA teams are running systems that don't require nearly as much thinking as the NFL. Heavy, heavy read option stuff or 1 read downfield, then check down. No QBs go to the NFL with the ability to audible more than a basic checkdown at best. They don't know how to process basic post-snap adjustments, let alone complex ones.

NCAA teams build the system around the kids they get to beat the worst defenders on other D1 teams. The transfer portal has been as much an issue as anything else. Kids don't have to take the hard lumps of getting demoted or earning their way up the roster anymore. They don't want to be 4-5 year players; they want to go RS 2-year starter and go to the NFL.

Not only can they just bounce to avoid hardship, but they are heavily incentivized to do it.

NCAAF is no longer a developmental league. It is junior professional football now.

i'm 100 percent certain that Ayers is ready and if osh has a brain he will get him back on...Drop Jenkins and in the 2 safety type stuff they run flip Griffen into that and drop ayers in at olb...heck in those passing downs they could also3 man it and drop off Reese as well into the flats in varying depths with Ayers and Griffin and have Alexander getting either spooked with his throws...or not seeing someone and become a pick magnet

A Ceresna or Lawson nose with WJ and Fletcher as ends...with Wilson...Ayers...reese..Griffin dropped out some where and just allow Lost in space Jones and Kramdi to settle into the middle...would create a lot of chaos for alexander to try and figure out, and not expose Jones and kramdi in coverage and poor drops

IF and only IF ZC is at 70% - 100% (anything lower and starting him doesn't hold water) AND, if ZC does indeed start, MOS is willing to insert DB if ZC falters.

If MOS chooses individual player loyalty over team my tv will feel the wrath.

If he's in that range, I think he likely starts. If he's lower than that, I'd still roster him as QB3. If we end up down to TE, we are cooked anyway. Let Zach wear the headset on the sidelines at worst. I'm not normally a fan of that move, especially in the regular season. But in the playoffs, any help we can get is good. Plus, Zach is cooked anyway at this point.

I assume today is an open practice... Kind of surprised that we haven't seen any reports. Yesterday was closed and tomorrow is travel day so today SHOULD be the open practice...

3DN had a report up earlier today. ZC was in street clothes so it appears to be Brown starting again. I say appears to be because MOS. We know he feels his vets don't need to practice to be good to go so we'll see what happens.

It appears Dru Brown is set to start for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the East Final on Saturday, as he took first-team reps under centre at practice on Thursday. Zach Collaros was in street clothes d

How about Brady being listed as questionable! I cannot imagine he woudl miss this game. I hope that is simple gamesmanship.

If a player is on the injury list, they get listed as questionable or out for the game. 95 times out of 100, questionable means playing.
