After last night's Bombers win we can watch the rest of the league battle it out starting in Calgary, maybe the Ti Cats will pull off the upset as the Stamps will be without VA today

More like Lurch vs Chester the Molester....

  • Does Rod Smith annoy anyone else with his stupid countdown before a player runs it into the end zone?

Rourke picked, Red Blacks cash in

A good crop of younger QBs up and coming in the league- something that has been lacking for some time.

I have my theory on that. Speaking of theories about lame qbs, is Jake Dolegala not one of the worst?? What was Milanovich thinking yesterday taking out Ford & putting him in. Mr pylon himself? The TSN panel just roasted him last night.

Popp getting more camera time than the players on the field.

@SpeedFlex27 , curious what you QB theory is.

Agree on Dolegala.

man can the Redblacks pull this one off? We were already let down by Hamilton and Toronto.

Ottawa gotta Ottawa...

Is it just me or is Smith actively rooting for Ottawa to lose?

If this keeps up the majority of the people attending Ottawa games will be cheering for the other team.

Looking like Milts TD record is getting broken this year. Horvath is having a season….

Agree on Dolegala.

Making backup qbs short yardage qbs has stunted the growth on developing qbs. Why do we need qbs to run short yardage? Look at Xavier Horvath in BC. Let fullbacks run it. What happens when we have slugs who have no talent arm wise like Tommy Stevens & Jake Dolegala that will never, EVER start... is that they take away jobs from young qbs who could be on CFL rosters. If 9 qbs every year don't get signed, that's 90 qbs a decade who never get a chance to develop into starters. Don't you think out of 90, we could find at least 8 or 9 qbs (hopefully more) who would eventually develop into starters?? If teams can't then we have a serious problem.

When is the last time a club went winless in a season...if ever...? Popp has his work cut out for him

Negative 3 rushing yards compared to 231 yards rushing from BC.

Just awful...

I'm sure Ottawa fans are sure glad Dinwiddie chose a QB with a better arm over one that actually won some games for them.

can someone explain to me how the Bombers went from winning 4 cups in five years up to 1962, and then going almost winless with the same team and coach in 1964? What happened??

I assume the same thing that always happens - the coach became too loyal to his veterans, and refused to replace guys far past their primes. Seems to be something that dogs every Winnipeg team over the decades.

Here's what AI is telling me:

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers suffered through a historically dismal 1-14-1 season in 1964 primarily because an aging championship dynasty was bottoming out amid a massive transition and a porous defense.

Aging Roster and Transition

End of a Dynasty: The core of Winnipeg's powerhouse late-1950s and early-1960s teams—which won multiple Grey Cups under head coach Bud Grant—was rapidly getting older or retiring.

Lack of Depth: The departure and aging of veteran mainstays left a talent gap that the younger replacements and rookies could not immediately fill.

Porous Defense and Injuries

Defensive Struggles: The 1964 squad surrendered 397 points over the regular season, completely overwhelming an offense that managed just 270 points.

Record Losing Streak: The team endured a club-record 13-game losing streak running from August deep into November.

Are you listening Mike O'Shea?

That was a new level of absolutely no energy in the crowd I've never seen before. Even at the Bombers worst in 1969, 70, 98, 99, 12 & 13 we atleast won 2-3 games a year & the fans did keep coming out. The RedBlackd have absolutely destroyed their fanbase almost beyond repair. I blame bad management, coaching & that damned coaches/admin cap. Bad teams like Ottawa & Edmonton are hamstrung. They might as well be tossed an anchor by the league rather than a life buoy when they're trying to be rescued.

I can’t believe the Lions took down the post. That’s silly, right?

No fun allowed I guess.

But really Lions are the last team that should be throwing this shade. Hamilton hasn't won a Grey Cup since 1999, but at least they've participated in one in the time frame the RedBlacks have been around.

Honestly, don’t go 0-10 then. Fair game as far as I’m concerned.

The Lions would never consider mocking a 0-10 team, that would be horrible.

They waited until 0-11.
