I havnt watched the game yet as I was flying to California but back now..was his play good vs edm?

The few things..were a hc who didnt have his head up his Osh...I mean ass

Gm/scouting has brought in young guys..its the coach who refuses to play them or just cuts them...and ones who luck out..or of late have the misfortune of being kept dont play ever or get reps to develop and have a true gauge of what they have..or dont have..good football players dont have to sit on a pr for a yr to "develop" and then get a chance a yr..2 later while older and or lesser players play and fail...thats just the noneense narrative or HC peddles

Griffin and Smith are as solid as can be in the league...its the Jones and Wilson part that need to be addressed..

With smart people..we have a key position in leadership where the smarts i dont think ever were there...had a king size horseshoe up his Osh tho..

So I think they can recognize talent.... They did afterall have singer as the guy they kept around and eventually put in... The problem is they won't make changes if it means someone losing their job. That's a different problem.

Playing favourites. Being stupid. You name it.

Looking at the CFL stats package and...

Looks like Collaros will end up middle of the pack in qualifying QBs BUT #2 overall in passes 20+ yards downfield by percentage completion... which is something that I didn't expect going into this year.

Even more surprising, even with that 1 game against Montreal where he had 1 reception for 2 yards, Singer has entered the top 40 Receiving yards leaders. There are 6 players averaging more than his 77.5 YPG ( T. Philpot 113.1, Snead 92.1, ,KSB 91.5, K Johnson 83, and Coxie 77.8). He leaders the Bombers in Receptions 20+ downfield with 9, and there are only 13 players above him with double digits in that category.

Making sure he sticks around and is happy should be the #1 priority.

Singer is more than likely NFL bound.

I by good you mean better than Elsbury..yes...if by good you mean as a starting C in the CFL...no. I like Eli as our 6th OL but starting C is in definite need of a big upgrade this offseason. Our OL is hot garbage.

well...Reps and opportunity...can develop a guy...and create cohesion with guards...so if given a true shot...Maybe he proves doubters wrong...But I agree he is as good as it gets as a sixth and the role we pigeon holed him in...

But our oline needs to be the focus for sure....If next yr we start the yr with Broxton at LT...Manu at LG (if both those guys come up which i think is highly likely, by that i mean Cline for RT)....Eli at center...I'm fine with Neuf at RG and Cline at RT...Or Vaterpool if he secures the job we be worlds better and have a brawling ass kicker group

That's without any FA signing, if any stud is available. Also if that could come to fruition that's 4 Canadians on the Oline..With BO and just 1 Canadian starting reciever, we could really have some flexibility ratio wise....Allow Demski to augment the group as opposed to over work him and get him beat up with too much responsibility, and or load up some defensive studs...would keep Kelly off the field...and allow us to use Kramdi in a situational role...With Smith and Lawson back only 1 has to be on field at any given time...and be huge

Fly in ointment tho is having Osh back and his pointless tendency to play excessive Canadians for no reason whatsoever...I'd be fine with it if they were the best players with most potential...but they aren't. Other than BO and Smith, in all honesty any of our other starting Canadians, as well as the crap we throw out there when we sub needlessly are all inferior talent now and could be easily replaced if ratio allowed by an American, or pushed to a backup depth role

Thtat's why I hate having a Canadian headcoch with a real strong Canadian bias such as Osh...he has neutered and handcuffed us for yrs....and was lucky he had the horses given to him to overcome it, so wasn't an issue...But he hasnt had that now for yrs, and as we have seen its 5 yrs now of steady regression...each yr getting worse than the last

Punt his butt in the off-season....Allow walters to turn it around, and if we still falling....and appear to have lack of talent coming in, a poor draft strategy, no real rhyme or reason to FA and bypass guys cause we still wanna stick with the same ratio constraints that we have had...forever...then by game 6 if we sub 500 punt his butt

If you punt Osh you have to punt Walters. I know you think he is good but he ain't. His recruitment is sub par, his drafting has been criminally bad over the past several years, and our FA signings very iffy over that span as well. Time to just blow it up. He doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt. We have been in a tailspin talent wise for several year, our OL is just a joke, and we went away from drafting them for some reason that only Walters can explain but not likely well. He has been unable to retain talent even when having ample opportunity to do so. Some guys left and were going to leave no matter what, but the vast amount of our FA's lost were sitting by the phone waiting for a reasonable offer that never came. That is 100% on KW.

no u dont...Thats a total obverhaul...We dont need a total overhaul...as that would basically have most if not all admin replaced...most team support staff....and thats the last resort u wanna go to

Walters could do no wrong people claimed...Until Osh and his tendancies got exposed...If we dump it all..we will be in wilderness for yrs, with no guarantee of getting out....I agree on Walters stupidity on Daniels, as it seemed some of the scouts had no clue who he even was. That is all on him...But Osh has a or had a ton of say in things too..who he wanted to have retained...who he was okay to let walk...etc...

If we had dumped some dead weight earlier we could have kept some the guys who did leave for more money...There was dysfunction the last 5 yrs no doubt...Walters should have been more firm from that 2nd Cup flop that was all on Osh as we still had the team to win the 2 first steamy piles we laid

That's what happens when you have 2 buddies working in the roles we have em in

That being said Osh can't see, or ignores his co-ords failures, and doesn't step in and take control, cause he can't...doesn't have the acumen to do so in regards to schemes and x' and o's...he's even on record saying that...He's a one trick pony which is that of a culture curator, and even then that was self policed for the most part.

We have seen yr after yr...He makes really dumb decisions, poor roster usage of what he does have, refusal to use rules allowed to him, very rarely able to have an answer adjustment wise in a game, and more often than not has a team go into a game unprepared....This stuff cant be denied, and has nothing to do with the GM or scouts....That doesnt mention his multiple yr blunders of playing clearly hurt guys in the biggest game of the yr, because he never allowed backups to get play time, so had zero faith in them, no trust, or had no clue what they were capable of as i still say is the worst talent evaluator in the league as far as coaches go...Not a guy you want leading a team...especially one likely headed for some serious rebuild being required

Walters wears the title of GM. Everything happened under his watch. That's the bottom line.

I don't watch the centers work closely unless they screw up. For those that do, was Eli an upgrade other than the passport in the last 2 games?

to a point tho...No g.m in the world selects the roster...decides who plays where...makes in game decisions...draws up plays or has anything to do with gameday stuff

But...I think he needs to move on from Danny mac....get new blood in..Now that Goviea has passed....Offer Cyril Penn the Ast G.M/Head of Scouting gig, and any other top scout they can poach

Walter's isnt on the road scouting Americans...chasing guys....he prepares contracts and signs the guys his team bring in....Thta's the extent of his role there....He is the main Draft guy tho, but...and it's not an assumption but him and Osh work very closely together on who/how they draft, and yes part of the strategy is decided upon amongst them. A new coach would bring in a different opinion and idea/strategy, No coach would agree to be in charge of a team but have to be saddled with a way or vison he isnt comfortable with, or is allowing him to put his stamp on the team

Walter's failed in not laying down the law...or cutting bait 2 yrs ago...well 3 i guess counting this yr....won't argue that....and or pushing a new draft strategy,

He was just fine and we had great talent before when our scouting team beneath him was better, and it masked Osh's inadequacies......Then we had a lot of good guys...connected guys leave in succesion here since the last cup win, and that's what's killed us on that front..Rigmaiden...Goviea..Penn...and there was another i cant remember off top my head

I have faith in Walter's as he built a team from the grave, and am sure can again, as it's not hard really....and gave it to Osh....I have zero faith in Osh, as I have seen more than enough to know he was a recipient of a good situation here that contributed to a real big chunk of his success. Osh with how he operates...his ideals and favoritisms...his bias's and his neglect of, or inability to cut vets who aren't that good anymore kind of pissed it all away

Sadly any discussion on this board by all of us...and its good discussion btw and disagreeing is healthy for discussions, with point..counter points...viewing it from multiple angles..etc is for naught cause we all know diddly squat is gonna happen and we are gonna likely go thru this same sad sack of a season next yr, with all the same issues making us a worse team than what we truly are...can we all revolt and boycott games and demand change???...hahaha....May have to come to that!

Walters didn't need to push a new draft strategy...HE decides that. Walters 100% completely determines who is on the roster. He doesn't decide who plays once on that roster but he has complete control over who is there. To say otherwise is nonsense. He signs the players, and he cuts the players. PERIOD. If you can name me one CFL starter that came through our TC and was released only to be picked up and became a good player I wish you would. The fact of the matter is that 99% of the players that are cut in TC are because they weren't good enough and every GM in the league agreed. Every team is intimately aware of each others TC rosters and almost every player coming into our league has been scouted by several teams. We are a small league and go fishing in all the same spots. It is pure fantasy that we somehow cut a bunch of good CFL players because OSH didn't want them. You can point out a few ham and eggers and non difference makers that we didn't re-sign but for the most part the guys we let go we did so because they simply were not good enough, or were buried behind better players with no realistic shot at playing. That is NOT solid depth. You keep saying that we don't play our talent...like who? Jayden Smith is pointed at...but he is starting in his second year after having mental health problems in year one. Given that, he played on a very quick timeline. From draft to starter in a year and half. Who else you got? Who came off our depth chart and showed they were buried? Eli....pfffft not even....he is hot garbage too. Who else you got? Singer? Absolutely...but again from signed to starter in half a year....not being held back at all. Could we have gotten him in a couple games sooner...sure...but not the egregious mistake some are suggesting. Very possible he needed the time to sit, watch, learn and that is why he had instant success.

walters doesnt cut players...he doesnt decide the roster...thats a HC job...and the HC informs them...not sure what world you living in...Tell me a football team where the GM meddled and chose the roster other than the team one owned by the Glieberman....and we all saw how that worked out....He doesnt not in any way 100 percent determine who is on the roster....period...He signs the players the scouts bring to him...He doesnt pick them....

If you refuse to accept that Osh has rostered the lesser of a player...started guys who were not starter quality, and played his favs over better players, refused to use rules afforded to him...played more Canadians than required, over a better American option then I truly don't know what you are watching...and its cost us...and this happens repeatedly yr after yr...after yr...I'm not talking about who was cut and never got a chance and they were destined for stardom...I never said that...That's your spin...and you are the one who says everyone is a ham and egger if they arent an Osh starter....nobody else...some say ..like me we are a roster full of guys on back half who serve no purpose whatsoever...have no upside...and never did....That cant be debated...But again...who put them on the roster...Not Walters...who decided to dress injured players in games...Not Walters...Who picks the starting lineup...Not Walters..Who makes the dumb in game decisions...Not Walters...Who prepares..or should be preparing his team week in and week out...Not Walters...who has zero control to overide his Coords poor decisons and or schemes in a game...Not Walters...who shows no accountability after a loss...Not Walters...Who cant cut or even just sit an under performing vet...Not Walters...Who refuses to use his Nationlized American rule...Not Walters

We all know u love osh...and throw blame at Walters but when you add up all the disfunction, and errors being made...90 percent fall at foot of headcoach....Walters only real fault

And a player who is legit, and can play....doesn't have to sit and watch...that's just a lame reasoning...Singer didnt learn anything running around in practice that he needed 14 games to figure out...like cmon your better than that

There is issues here...and the smart way to fix is remove the biggest issue where most the failure stems from...And its not GM....If the issues persist into the next yr...and I highly doubt they would...then a GM decision may have to be made.

At least he's admitted singer and Smith are good, that's a start. Before it was all reports are singer sucks in practise that's why he's not playing etc etc.

Love Osh? Nope. Hoping he gets fired. Just not willing to enter a fantasy world where he takes total blame for what has occurred. Walters, the scouts, the lack of talent are equal parts to the mess we are in. Need to purge as much dead weight as we can if we are going to contend again and it most certainly does not stop at the coaching staff's door. That is nonsense.

How can he not take total blame? He's the HC. Every roster move is approved by him. Your takes are mind boggling.

He makes the game day roster, he doesn't determine who is signed to a contract, or who is brought into TC as a prospect. That is the part that baffles me that a long time fan like you wouldn't understand that.

I have no doubt and am not arguing that MOS doesn not make the best use of the roster of players he is provided. What I do take issue with is anyone suggesting that the players we have under contract even under their best usage would be a contender. That is pure BS. We need a new HC who will play the best players, and we need a new GM that brings in better players. Plain and simple.

Heard a lot of BS that MOS brings back dead weight vets, he doesn't present them with the contract. Walters does. A real GM knows how to say no to his HC.

These are all accurate. Singer would have been the ROTY of he'd been on sooner, but it's Williams for sure.

Bigger question is who's the West MOP? They wouldn't give it to Faj would they? Fart noises.

He chooses the roster ...Makes cuts...assigns players to PR....Sure he doesnt sing the contract...No coach does, but as a HC he also advocates who he wants...is involved in yr end discussion who he wants back..who he doesnt..who he values..Thats his job as a HC and to work with GM in doing that, and that GM generally has that trust in him (as he should as he hired him) A G.M will instruct his team to locate and find players in the mold that the HC wants, or values....Not the other way around

If you think Walters forced a lot of our garbage on him that Osh didnt want...he could have cut them in camp...or just not play them...But its the opposite occuring

We have degraded horribly, and in a way that most teams do...even in the CFL because Osh has/had too much say in personelle

I can agree with you that we need change(s) for sure...not a doubt there...but a total purge is not the answer...one answer we already know that has caused issues is a HC who favors vets...and usually a couple players a yr who for whatever reason he think has value...Cant make tough decisions in regards to cutting or benching underperforming vets/Canadians, a defiant attitude on neglecting beneficial roster rules, and what has appeared the last few yrs a real inability to actually put together any kind of scheme...has no skill in that...Starting there as opposed to cutting bait with Gm and HC which brings with it a whole coaching and admin upheavel...is i think a panic move...we aint there yet tahnk god....but if we get embarrassed tommorow...we in dip ****

KW can listen to MOS's suggestions, as he should, but he is there to over rule the coach if necessary. Bottom line. He didn't do that and I doubt he does with another new HC. It is a flaw of his GMing just as large as MOS's rostering flaws. The two go hand in hand. I am advocating for a fresh new start from GM to coaching staff. It's the only way we can be sure that this cycle ends, and more importantly doesn't repeat. If Walters were some kind of guru at bringing in prospects, drafting, FA wizardry I would give him the benefit of the doubt but he gets failing grades in all these areas along with the fatal flaw of allowing his HC to call the shots. Just not good GMing...not sure how you can state otherwise.

By objective measures, Williams is the most consistenly bad DB in the league. Most targeted, highest completion % against, most yards and TD's against. The guys worse than him got sat, but he survived the season. So get him an award.

I was undecided about Walters and tending towards keeping him. That said, he has let this downward spiral go on too long despite having more than enough reason to sack O'Shea. It seems to me that O'Shea has been giving Walters the finger by keeping promising players Walter brought in, but misusing or ignoring them unless forced by circumstance not to. Sounds like passive-aggressive to me.

Who are all these guys being held back? Smith and Singer are the only guys in several years that have come off the bench and played far better than who they replaced. This whole wasted talent thing is being grossly exaggerated. Smith had mental health problems and Singer is starting in his rookie season...thats not being held back. If there is a plethora of talent being held back right now how about some names? If there was in past years then surely these guys went on to have impact careers elsewhere?
