25/26 CFL (Non Bombers) Off Season Thread

Is this ever a guy we should take a run at? I really like Pokey as a receiver but not sure he's a 1A Superstar guy... Would you ever take a run at Hatcher as your #1 and then have Pokey and Demski as 2/3?

  • Can confirm - ran it through Google Translate and this is what came back:

  • Brady is the most complete running back in the CFL full stop. Rushing, receiving, blocking, no one does it all as well as he does.   Now that doesn't automatically make the contract he got w

  • I always find it hard to browse the CFL's official free agent list so I re-organize it by position for readability. Still lots of time until free agency opens so this list is getting smaller daily.

Artopoeus? I’d still like to see them bring in an experienced 4th (5th if Elgersma makes his way here) QB for competition.

UFL MVP or not, I don’t like the idea of half a year before the season starts, handing the backup job to a QB who’s never played a down of CFL football.

Artpoeus was training camp fodder. Kept around because there was no competition. We knew who QB2 & 3 were going to be a year ago.

It is actually mind blowing how much this clip describes our offense.

That is interesting. Guess that means we will be back in the mix for a front office type this year as well.

Headline: Johnston denies ‘Americanization’ of CFL, provides more clarity on upcoming rule changes

Article: Most likely lies about Americanization (the fake shock that people even suggested it is hilarious), and zero additional clarity

So, attendance is terrible in Edmonton & Toronto. Not so great in Calgary & Ottawa. Only Winnipeg sold out all their games & with our downturn this season, I don't expect that to happen again. Maybe Saskatchewan will lead the league in attendance this coming season. The Commissioner is trying to change things up & is villified by the same fans who won't show up for a CFL game but can't wait for the NFL to start every year.

Where he will probably flourish...cause he will get played and played with capable players...sad that we didn't reup him

sucks, but we didn’t get any development out of him and seemed dead set on wasting his potential.

I think our schedule is a good one for us. We don't travel as much as other teams.

Hamilton doesn't list a GM, so maybe it is even with the same title name?

How can you  have an Asst GM but no GM? Talk about a top heavy "who's in charge" organization???

Yeah, however a few more short weeks next season.

You are right about the less travel.

This Stats Geek guy has the Bombers as the team traveling the least.

100% failed to give him enough consistent reps. But also our dl coaching hasn’t been where it needs to be.

When is the last time we saw real meaningful development of any dl? Jeffcoat? Stove basically came in and did what he did. Same with kongbo. We’ve failed to get more out of dl talent for an awful long time. We’ve scouted some tremendous talent, mainly on the inside of the line. But the guys that worked out came in at a high level and left at the same level.

Patterson is really well liked and a former bomber player, but I haven’t seen nearly enough from his guys. We’ve brought in soo many guys with pedigree, athleticism, every advantage you could want and not been able to get any of them to use those to win 1on1 vs hardly any one.
