The ol has hastened Zachs down fall. But if you look at his good games the last two years, he needs to practically run into a throw to get it 30-40 yards down field and it will still end up well short. He can't get the ball out quickly or cleanly either. And if you look at his play off stats here, he had 1 good game and a whole lot of bad games.

And as much as the OL isn't helping... the play he got hurt on was all him. They rushed more than bombers had blockers and in that situation it's on the qb to recognize it and NOT stand there oblivious to the guy coming in to blast him.

He was oblivious indeed....needs to process that quicker and realize he needs to abort primary and zip a quick hitter into someone....or just actually evade...he was so locked into his primary read he basically tee'd himself up for a pummeling....and not the first time the last few season's either

Yup.  For a veteran QB, I’m often surprised at how little awareness Zach seems to have pre snap.  Maybe our putrid play caller doesn’t have any hot routes imbedded in his play design, but this isn’t the first season I’ve noticed this.

Not the first veteran qb this has happened to. Won't be the last. Even the great ones miss where everybody is.

Three close losses against the two best teams in the league and only one win against a backup. Brown started the game, we just broke him. We’re not good, but we’re not terrible either.

I think coming up short consistently against the best teams in the league (0-5 so far if you are keeping track) should provide a greater impetus for trying to improve the roster... not holding pat

Status quo we go.....I'm shocked...Guys questionable....no sense letting them get truly closer to health and see what else you have...that be dumb

And a defensive front struggling to get pressure of any kind...let alone consistent play...so ....keep trotting the same configuration of guys....that will win ya many

I kinda had some positive vibes feeling going on, and that we may kinda retool a bit...those vibes just flew out the window

We may very likely after this week be tied at bottom with 6 wins

Hopefully both those 4 win eastern teams lose to keep us 2 up in the crossover...I feel like that may be our best shot at post season sadly....oh how the mighty have fallen

osh think's close losses are victories and validates that his process and way he does stuff is working...and magically things will turn around and pan out...(mind you only to fail in Cup as the getting there was flawed at best and covered up the weaknesses) and why we in this mess now

That magic tho now is gone....and he has no answers other than...status quo

Mediocrity will probably that we will be treated to another season like this one and last.

When you are on the ascent or riding out the peak sure... 2018-2023 you can take those moral victories as either learning experiences or players going to be able to lean on their experience and right the ship... 2024 and on when your team is who they are, or the voices who can right the ship are in clear decline and holding on for dear life... not so much

I think we have been in some spots. I agree the dl could use changes.

this had already started manifest in 2022 really...then simmered and sautéed to what has now become a nice piping hot plate of crap

As most you all will surely attest...and yeah I agree I'm sure it annoyed a lot of you but I was hollering red flags and and saying that if we didnt smarten up....we were in the descent already and in danger of becoming a real bad squad....but easily fixable/preventable....and well we just brushed it all under the rug....rode our past success with nary a concern....and boom.....look at us now.....hate to say I told you so....but...I did

And the "yeah but" crowd just kept ya buttin'

And dont get me wrong...Not all on Oshea...G.M has to shoulder a lot too.....And should have right from the start took away some of Osh's say and influence over the whole on field part

Sorry gotta call this out..we made it to the Grey cup last year..yea we lost but that ain't mediocrity...the bar is so high around here it's kinda sad..has everyone forgot how many years of crap we put up with before this regime took over?

Sure, of course. A kick in the ass is better than a kick in the junk undoubtedly.
Thing to me is that we likely would have won 5 cups in a row instead of just getting to them if some of these red flag issues had been dealt with over the last 2-3 years.

Houston for Vaval so that later can focus on returns is a nice move. Ayers is still a poor use of a roster spot. Would have liked to see Echols in for Mitchell and Cobb for Corcoran. I'd have removed Woodby too.

Echols for Mitchell would have been good.

I’d have left Woodby, taken Ayers off for Woods and Ball or Hallett off for Bailey

I'm surprised Mitchell wasn't asked to turn in his jersey after the last game. He would have been an easy one to help start sending a message that changes are needed.

Mitchell...he of 5 games with 11 grabs for 85 yards...like is this Josh Johnson all over again...look how long it took to pooch him

You would think seeing that lack of production we'd try Echols...can't be worse...plus gives you returner depth too

Yup...and Hallett for Kelly...so added an older shittier guy at same waste of a spot on roster where could have made more sense and had value

I'm sure tho we will see lotsa Hallett on in chase being burned left right and center...just like before

We are probably gonna hafta suffer with Mitchell for the rest of the season so that O'Shea can rub Walters' nose in it.

What a crappy offseason we had. Just think about all the WRs on the market and we ended up with a damaged Schoen, Mitchell, Sterns and Reggie White Jr who didn’t even make it out of camp.

They should’ve kept White Jr.

I agree  100% with your thoughts. The downward trend was obvious a year so ago. I believe management knew what needed to be done but refused to take action. I do not know if Oshea has more say than the GM but at this point in time at least IMHO the downward trend will continue until decisions at the top are made. I place the blame for the downward trend squarely on the GM and if the Head Coach has move input that the GM we are definitely in trouble.
