JuranBoldenRules Posted 22 hours ago Report Posted 22 hours ago If you had 2019 Streveler at QB...giddy up. The fact that he can't change direction anymore and can't reach top speed makes a run heavy, RPO style game a true grind...not just on the D but on him. I think Corcoran can play. Going from the receiving corps we have had to just Wheatfall and Sterns on as Americans is pure insanity. I don't read much into depth chart positions on D. Will be interesting to see how they deploy the bodies. Parker moving to corner had to happen. To take 1/3 of a season to realize Bridges is not a CFL player and Parker is terrible at safety....hmm. Again...Vaval...what a goddamn fail that we keep running this guy out. Costs us points and dozes of yards of field position on a weekly basis. Put someone in there that knows how to catch a punt and at least break even. I bet Cobb ends the game as returner. rebusrankin, Stickem, JohnnyAbonny and 1 other 4

I don't think this wr core is worse than the worst we saw last year, but I think it's getting close. That game where everyone got injured and they had to stand Streveler out there at WR to have 12 guys on the field was pretty great. Bigblue204 and wbbfan 1 1

BomberBall. Posted 22 hours ago Report Posted 22 hours ago I’m sorta okay with this roster. I can’t understand how Mitchell can’t get a sniff…. Like how many receivers need to go down?? Crazy. That group is ugly. Like others have said, I hope Kramdi’s smarts pay off at S and he can diagnose things quickly, because his coverage skills are poor. Maybe Cooley will get some snaps in the slot? That’s why he was activated? I hope this line can give Strev some time…. Because his receivers aren’t exactly top shelf. Fingers crossed. rebusrankin and wbbfan 2

Couple that with another change on the offensive line and Lofton being terrible in general (he struggled as a right tackle last year, there’s no indication he’ll excel as a blind side blocker) I’m not expecting a lot from our offense. There is NOTHING on that side of the ball that forces a team to respect what we might plan to do. We saw what that looked like against Calgary. Agreed on Lofton ,I'm befuddled why that change was make ,when most of the pressure comes through Neuf and Kola. Love the changes on D though, for the most part. Are they hoping someone will claim him? The only upgrade I can see is J. Jones backing up WLB but he otta be in the middle. Kramdi is quick enough to be useful at safety but he has a terrible time reading plays well enough to be in the right place at the right time. All this smacks of desperation. Piggy 1 1

We saw what that looked like against Calgary. yeah....no game breakers or legit threats that require real attention...and can be easy to take BO away from us until we show different...I expect a keep in front coverage with lotsa guys in the box and them baiting us into nickel and diming it for extended long drives to actually score a TD....and not sure if we gonna be able to do that. Maybe BO goes off like a machine and Strev as well channels some of his old self and we control things that way Encouraging part...we have the guys on defence this game to really be active....match up way better and possibly be in Arbuckles kitchen all night...so we may win a defensive slugfest....Defence and ST definately gonna have to pull this one out....Have zero belief that with Hogan calling shots...and what he has to work with that we are gonna score more than 2 TD's on offense Piggy 1, BRT and rebusrankin 3
Stickem Posted 21 hours ago Report Posted 21 hours ago Better D for sure ...changes starting to make a little sense....Never thought we'd see any ...only the same ol regurgitated bull$hit ...What a bust Mitchell signing was....what the hell is going on with this guy....He either wants to play or show him the bloody door....What a bunch of mamby pamby crap the way this guy is being handled...AND to think a guy like Gino Lewis was out there in fa and we come up with this dud....Luv to see Cooley get in the line-up....one of the changes should have been at returner....I'd like to see Cooley get a shot...it sure as heck can't be any worse than the current ' five yard and flop return' guy we now employ....I got a feeling that Arbuckle is going to feel a lot more heat in this one....no more passing record attempts by this guy....Hope the weather holds ...should be a good one BigBlueFanatic and Piggy 1 2
JuranBoldenRules Posted 21 hours ago Report Posted 21 hours ago I'd much rather Cam Allen on given the D we play with all the DB's. Why do you need Wilson, Jones x2, Ayers (yeah special teams) when the majority of snaps for the D you have one true LB on the field, 2 if they are in 30 front which they've used less since Person has been on? Cam Allen 6'1 200 pounds. Play him at dime, play him at boundary corner where Bonds is getting absolutely exposed week after week, play him as a 2 high safety, push Parker down into SAM sometimes. I bet Argos pick on Bonds and Parker in this game. rebusrankin, Tracker, Blue-urns and 2 others 4 1

The defense looks a little better - but the offense really is a sad affair. No receivers that scare anyone and an OL that is poor at best. I doubt Streveler will scare anyone with his passing other that our coach.

Mark H. Posted 21 hours ago Report Posted 21 hours ago 4 hours ago, wbbfan said: Halls D did not rely on pressure. It developed the ability to get pressure with just 4 guys late. Check out the old fire Richie hall thread. It’s all too deep zone not enough pressure talk. It ran through Harris because he was our 2nd/3rd target as a pass catcher and the run game. Harris’ career high Carrie’s was 239 in 18, then 225 in 19. Brady had 260 carries in 2023, and 239 in 24. His average carries are right in line as a starter here with Harris, a bit higher. When Lapo posted all that stuff, breaking down the Bombers' D last season, that is not how Hall ran his D. Harris was also used a lot as a receiver, especially when Nichols was under centre. Match-zone gives enough cushion to allow pass attempts. The adjustment JY made mid-last year was dropping a DL for an extra DB in a package. But that's not new by any means. Harris wasn't used a lot as a receiver; he caught a bunch of passes as a check-down RB. Which we also do with Brady. Brady had 1200 receiving yards in 2022-2024. In 2023, Bradie's heaviest year for caries, he had a total of 298 touches; the following year, he had 296. In Andrews' highest catch year, he had 294, and the next year, 297. Brady had 57 catches last year. Harris got more throws on block and release than Brady, but that is again on the upswing. They both got similar touches, and Brady has had more carries than Harris has at any point in his career. Edited 21 hours ago by wbbfan Blue-urns 1
JohnnyAbonny Posted 20 hours ago Report Posted 20 hours ago I like some of the changes. Bridges out is good. Parker should theoretically play better on the corner than at Safety. If J. Jones is on, don’t see the need for both Ayers and Wilson. Could have used Cam Allen or Mitchell. Even Bailey would have made more sense. Corcoran = 2025 Allan Boyko.

Check down RB or receiver - 6 of one, half a dozen of the other Anyway, here are their numbers for passing and running attempts. (Wikipedia) Harris (2016-2021): 1194 / 5 = 239 / season Oliviera (2021 - 2024): 922 / 4 = 231 / season Their busiest seasons are actually quite similar. The West has been a blood bath for receivers so far it seems. I think BC has been relatively healthy though. Riders have lost of bunch. What Calgary trots out tonight will probably look worse than the Bombers do tomorrow. Elks are... the Elks.
