2025 CFL (Non-Bombers) Season

From 3DN about TSN broadcasts this year....

"The CFL on TSN is taking a renewed approach to its broadcasts for 2025.

The network’s panel will travel to all nine stadiums over the course of the upcoming season, sources told 3DownNation, including visits to Regina and Montreal in Week 1. Kate Beirness is returning to host the panel with Henoc Muamba and Davis Sanchez filling the main roles alongside her.

Paul LaPolice will also frequently appear on the panel, though he will also perform colour commentary for one game per week. As previously reported, longtime panelist and Hall of Fame quarterback Matt Dunigan is no longer with the network.

As for Milt Stegall, who has been with the network since 2009, there is no timeline for his return after the death of his eldest son, Chase. The 20-year-old died unexpectedly at DePaul University on Monday where he was a member of the school’s soccer team.

“Our CFL on TSN family is absolutely devastated over Chase’s passing. If you know Milt, you know that his family is everything to him, and we cannot imagine the pain he is going through right now,” said producer Chris Edwards in a statement to 3DownNation. “Milt is our brother and we are going to give him our love and support him in any way we can, and in whatever way he needs.”

During a broadcast teeing up the 2025 season on Tuesday, TSN dedicated its coverage this year to Chase’s memory.

TSN plans to flesh out the panel by rotating in active players, though it doesn’t appear as though this will happen every week. Players will generally make panel appearances during bye weeks, though there may also be opportunities for in-studio appearances when players are in town to play the Argonauts or Tiger-Cats.

Friday Night Football, a longtime network staple, will have a brand new presentation featuring fresh animations, graphics, and music. One source called the scope of the production “bigger.”

The play-by-play personnel at the network has remained unchanged for 2025, featuring Rod Smith, Dustin Nielson, Marshall Ferguson, and occasionally Farhan Lalji. Colour commentary will be performed by Glen Suitor, Duane Forde, and LaPolice."

Honestly the main selling point of the CFL are the timing rules of the final 3 minutes.  And arguably the most boring part of any NFL game when a team with a one score lead can just bleed the clock un

Could be personnel, I just saw way to many play with no pressure no coverage and poor tackling, especially down the stretch.

We gave up a lot due to having no pressure. Tackling does need to improve for sure though. That’s all on leadership, discipline and accountability which no CO can install with a soft hc, and players like wj coasting. Especially owe this length of time.

The RedBlacks went deep & signed Dinwiddie. They're serious & all in about winning. How serious are we???

I’ll pay for his ticket, first class, to toronto. Then he can find his way where ever he pleases.

His berta look may not fly in the big smoke. Might need a makeover. :)

That's the system the DC designed. The lack of a pass rush is on Younger. That's why our D is all linebackers & dbs. They got lit up last Saturday. Another year of Osh means more of the same. More Younger. More Cheetos.

Find a cooler bodega cat. I'll wait.

Through all this discussion about our lazy GM Walters, Osh leaving for Toronto (please go), firing Hogan or maybe losing Brady if we don't, Zach's unhappiness, Younger & his Cheetos no pass rush defense, Walters not doing enough this past off season, Osh roster management issues.... All I want is a change.

The room has gone stale. It stinks. We need Wade Miller to go in & open the window wide to let a fresh breeze in. As a fan, I want change. Meaningful & serious change. I don't care if that means head rolls & we don't renew the contracts of  Walters & O'Shea. After 12 freaking years, the team has to do something to shake it up. I don't want to watch my team decline further while we have a GM mail it in another off season. While players & coaches who should be gone get special treatment & undeservedly stick around for another season.

After 12 going on 13 seasons, I don't think as a fan that I can take anymore of this **** because I know it'll just get worse.

Without their starting QB all season.  How do you think any other team does in that situation?

Arbuckle in 15 games was 365/504 with 4370 yards and 26/15

In Kellys MOP season in 18 games he was 270/394 for 4123 yards and 23/12

Only real difference between the two stats wise is Team wins and Kelly also ran the short offense and has a bit more mobility.

There really wasn't much of a drop off between Kelly and Arbuckle

It is a team game though so I'm not completely blaming Arbuckle (Toronto's defense was really good in 2023 and terrible this year, allowing the most points, by a fairly wide margin).  They have bled a lot of talent on that side of the ball over the last couple seasons.

Stats can also be misleading and don't tell the whole story so I wonder how much of his numbers came in garbage time?  I looked at their season schedule and they trailed going into the 4th quarter in 13 of 18 games so there was a lot of opportunity to put up numbers in a losing situation.

And also won 2 of last 3 Cups under Dinwiddie...not his fault his team got gutted in FA last yr

2 cups in 3 years, an Eastern Final and one non playoff year when they still competed on offense with Arbuckle having a career year and Henslow emerging as a stud. Missing the forest for the trees, Dude.

They also had like 3 loses by 3 or less.

Toronto capsized because for years they have been hammered away at in free agency, with out doing much to bring stars back. Just like us. That Dejon Allen trade, even though he was hurt a good chunk of this season, was still just awful. The chatfield trade was the only decent one pinball made, and he swung a bunch of trades this season/off-season. Pinball also couldn't manage to find the argos a RB worth a damn to replace AJ with.

The dip in the argos production is squarely on pinball/muphy but they let Dinwiddie take the fall. No he's off to better things and the argos will probably be a basement dweller.

Argos gonna get Osh or and Steinauer I bet.

Exactly....when you gut a team ....like we've been AND the argos, the expected fail is around the corner...An article saying O'Shea could be the replacement for Dinwoodie IS a good possibility....Maybe it would be best for all concerned...Our head coaching has gone stale and a new start for Osh could be a good thing...It clears the way for us to do the same thing.....get a fresh start ........ What happens with Walters....does he take his act east as well.....Going to get very interesting

Steinauer is president of football ops, why would he take a demotion?  Also why would Hamilton allow it?  They can't block a chance at a promotion but they could deny the Argos permission to talk to him about a lower position.

Hamilton and President O were in deep trouble before this season. I think this year's resurgence has bought them considerable rope, once again. And the only way I think he leaves hamilton is with an apple and a road map. I don't think he bails for another position.

Honestly, Id argue Arbuckle had the better year by quite a bit. Arbuckle had a less talented Oline, a less talented RB group and a for the most part a less talented WR group....and a Defense that wasn't anywhere near the Defences Kelly played with, like not even in the same atmosphere.

I Watched quite a few Argo games. Mostly they played good football but often got some bad breaks.

Not saying Dinwiddie isn’t a great coach but gm also is interesting. Good luck to RD tho. Wonder if we see sone interesting changes in ottawa. Not if actually but how many.

I think lapolice is the obvious choice maybe with Khari as OC and maybe grab a Montreal assistant as DC. If Osh leaves.

Maybe he moves on from Crum and then we sign him to replace Strev?

From what Dinwiddie said at his presser, he was already doing a lot of GM duties in Toronto because MLSE is cheap and ran a lean front office.  He actually expects his workload to lighten in Ottawa because Burke will still be doing a lot of the GM stuff (like contract negotiations).  Dinwiddie made it clear to MLSE earlier that he wanted to be HC/GM but they were happy keeping Pinball in the GM role so that's what prompted the move to Ottawa.
