That's actually crazy. I'm not sure I've ever been part of any team in any sport that didn't have a go to play.

Yeah. Agreed. Soccer. Hockey. All of them. There were go to plays even as youth.

I feel unless you going after Canadian receivers like an Emilius, you should trust your scouting to find 1 American guy or 2. There’s 50000 guys down south. Find 2. Spend the cash elsewhere.

id be looking hard at upgrading the oline DL and Canadian talent through free agency. Likely in that order and since I’ve probably posted this in the wrong thread, I’d take several of the rider free agents here. Allen Emilius and yoshi honestly. If big Stan retires. I think I’d think really hard about trying to flip the ratio so I can start 3 American oline.

Yosh/Broxton, Wallace ??? Vanterpool, Randolph.

Demski. Clercius. Emilius

Brady

2 oline

kramdi at LB with smith there. I’d look at Shay in the middle also with Novak there. Prob be going OL LB with my first few picks.

find a way to run all American DL also and with 8 Canadian starters, even 7, there’s no need for Canadian defensive line

And here we are still wondering if Osh will make a much needed change. Doing it on his own sweet time just like last year.

So for all the talk of Eli replacing Kolo, both are free agents I believe.

Our Man Tait had a good piece about all the pending FAs... Talked about Eli possibly replacing Koala and Vibert (another natural C) possibly replacing Neufeld...

He waited until February last time. Its only been 2 weeks, calm down. Knowing O'Shea he's not gonna rush it, because the fans want it.

And, as has been mentioned a million times every year, just because we don't know about something doesn't mean it didn't happen. Professionalism means keeping things behind closed doors. No airing of negativity. Tons of decisions could have already been made and just not made public. And I'm more than fine with that.

Professionalim??? JFC, now I've heard everything. With the track record of the Canadian Mafia since 2023, silence means nothing is getting done. Those 2 live in their own little bubble where time runs on a different reality. The new season starts 1- 2 weeks earlier in May. They have to tighten things up significantly to get things done. Otherwise, nothing has changed. .

How'd taking his time work out for us? You happy with the decision he finally made?

It's December 1st, the offseason is like a week old, step away from the ledge. If this drags out another month beyotch then, right now it's just way too early. You have created a timeline in your head that is wholly unrealistic.

he should have a sense of urgency and be proactive with full court push....or be relagated to settling from withim...again...or looking at the scraps....Hopefully he learned his lesson

I truly think JJ was the guy...but whatever circumstance delayed his arrival made them in meantime bump up OC guy...and when he got here would take over the role....but Osh re-nagged on that...and we saw the discombobulation all yr...unhappy players...confusion....and JJ himself looking a bit irritated and put off a bit most the yr

is early....but still...teams who wanna make an impact will make moves and not ***** foot around....Ottawa being a good example...they were in lala land and realized they need to change...and got er done as fast as you could...Thats how you get the best of the best

No rule or law saying you need to wait X amount of time....and not unprofessional either to cut guys loose as early as u can.....and creep other teams coaching talent...snooze...u lose...we been snoozing on many fronts and losing as well....we didnt do that 2018-2021....Got fat and sassy...almost arrogant and just figured people would glom over to us....give us discounts....didnt need to be urgent in negotiations...and look where it got us

Part of this new "change" and having to be "better" also is really relevant to how we operate....That needs to change more than anything...loyalty only gets you so far...for so long and clinging to it....always leads to your demise....its pro sports...cut throat and unforgiving business....it's what you signed up for and if you have a fragile ego or get butt hurt for being called out...or sent packing....u in the wrong business

They've publicly said they are talking to coaches. TO was early to talk to guys too and they're still worse off then us. It's a two way street. They could be talking to 30k potential candidates a day...but none of that matters until they sign on. They could have put an offer out to Condell or Miller. Maybe Condell/Miller said I need time to think about it...there are so many variables when it comes to hiring, not getting it done in under 1 month and having panic attacks over it is a bit much.

I think they could've gained a considerable amount of leeway if they came out and publically announced Hogan won't be back, and released awful players who didn't cut it X, Y, and Z.

As it is, we have struggled in free agency when not overpaying, to attract top-tier FAs. Despite our sell-outs, we will not be a hot draw by any means with out making guys the highest paid at their position etc. If we start to drum up hype with changes though, that might change.

I don't think we will wait till the last minute for the coaching staff again. I think we are 100% taking our OC from another team, and that will have to happen sooner rather than later.

that waiting and actually saying it wasnt an urgent thing early on...affected a lot....and cant happen again

That is irrelevant and doesn't change anything for this year. Why did Condell not accept the offer? When will they announce Miller is the OC? These are questions we don't have the answer to because we don't actually know what is going on and it would be pretty unprofessional to discuss any negotiations that might be happening publicly.

Hey, I'd love for all of this to be settled right now too. However, it is crazy to suggest change isn't coming because it hasn't been announced Dec. 1. I completely get what you are saying, and if media reports are any indication, we are working diligently to make change in our coaching staff. For now that is a good sign. On December 1st, we should be optimistic about these reports. If nothing has happened a month from now then yea...let's assume the worst.
