Would love to see what he's capable of in the CFL. smaller quicker back, doesn't have great break away speed and I'm not sure on his catching ability. But I don't think he's going to be in the NFL much longer honestly.

Great hands, excellent concentration in traffic and FAST! Hope he has his head screwed on properly.

He was just released by the Raiders so he'll probably be looking to catch on with another NFL team before he looks to come north (if at all).

Also really effective on jet sweep and motion hand offs on general.

Who was this

Key'shawn Smith, WR from SMU.

The account was having issues and reposted it like 30 times so I guess my repost was deleted in the clean-up.

@DTonOB Can you please share the snaps for the last game at DL, and shay/smith to date on D, please? Looked to me like our best use of rotation on the DL in a long time.

Here's what I have:

Vs Toronto (63 defensive snaps)
Jefferson 58
Vaughters 54
Thomas 35
Lawson 34
Adams 26
Person 25
Kornelson 6

16 snaps with Vaughters as a stand-up player rushing from the interior. 20 snaps of him, Jefferson and Person on at the same time.

Season to date (6 games)
Vaughters 290
Jefferson 281
Lawson 205
Thomas 198
Adams 1768
Kornelson 45
Person 29

Still zero D snaps for both rookies.

Thanks! Yeah I thought they were still at 0.

Frustrating that Shay and Smith are at 0 defensive snaps. Person getting 25 last game is encouraging. That's actually using a DI.

Yep, and Thomas/Lawson/Adams being much closer than usual is a big win. I mean, we saw instant dividends from that as well, with the most pressure we've seen in a long while. I'd like to see Adams get some more snaps at DE, and the wj/vaughters numbers come back down a bit more still. And Thomas go to the lowest of the 3 dts. But that is good progress.

JY made adjustments. Pulling bridges, using the DI end, rotating the DL, even the Lber blitz useage is much better than we used to do. Once the Secondary has a couple of changes and adjustments, the D should be really good.

Let's hope Younger keeps it up & isn't overruled by Osh.

and Thomas still out snapping Lawson and Adams...now lets get a run down of the defense success with Thomas on the field lol

Can you ask the dear leader why some these young guys get zero reps?....and how does he determine that they are either not good enough...or surprise surprise good enough without actually seeing then outside of running scout or skelly in practice?

Please 😁

Not too surprising, he was the most game-ready of the cuts. I hope he doesn't jump over allen or woodbey on the depth chart.

so....what dos that say about the guys we choose to keep in first place...and what kind of message does that give the guys who been here since day one busting their butts?.....after all...they are all starters and all

Maybe bring back a receiver...seeing as thats the player who went doen with injury, and basically our weakest position on the team...there'sa thought

You think O'Shea is lying when he says Younger decides who is on the field on D?

100 percent.....I dont think he has total say....and Osh calls plays and uses hi call sheet...which oncludes player package and the such...I dont believe much of what comes out his mouth at times

And if Younger truly thinks guys like Korn..Thomas....and others deserve the reps they get...then we need a dew D Coord

It's pretty obvious how deployment of our defensive players has changed in the past two years.  The change was Younger taking over.  It's more DB's, fewer DL.  He doesn't use the Canadian/Global/DI depth guys nearly as much.  Most plays we have 7 DB's on the field.  I'm counting Kramdi and Griffin as DB's.  Griffin is basically a starter to me, even if he's not listed first at any position on depth chart.  He plays more than Wilson or Adams.

Jefferson is an every down player under Younger.  Never was under Hall.  O'Shea has been the head coach the whole time.

The only thing I think O'Shea has done this year is given Miller more choice on guys he wants on for cover teams.  In past years they probably would have put a guy like Cobb on over one of the LB/DB types to give the offense more depth.

IMO the bigger issue is likely O'Shea not pulling a bit of autonomy from the coordinators when things are going south than the opposite.

Snafu, we kept bridges because he was pencilled in as the starter going into camp.  Only mos’ pencil drips pen ink and still shows through considerable amounts of white out.
Db was a tough battle at camp. Gowan could’ve been a pr guy for a while and I wouldn’t be stunned if he was in camp next year.
A ton of guys performed well at db, other than bridges lol. Out back up and cut defence might’ve been better than our first month starters. If not it would’ve been pretty close.
