Status report
Each team held an optional morning skate. … Scheifele’s father, Brad, died unexpectedly overnight and the center's status for the game is undetermined; If Scheifele does not play, Schenn, a defenseman, could enter the lineup. ... The Stars will continue to dress 11 forwards and seven defensemen; coach Pete DeBoer said that allows Dallas to continue to manage minutes for Heiskanen, who returned in Game 4 following knee surgery in January, and get forwards extra minutes.

Jets are playing way more energized after that goal.

Marchment keeps leaving his feet when he's making his hits... The refs warned him the first time but they still seem to let him do it.

Damnit all. Another goal over helly's shoulder

That does not look good for Josh....

Now they call a penalty.  They better f****** even it up if we get to overtime.

He didn't get into the skates or hook, a bit of a weak call. Jets need to fight to get this one

It was a tripping call at minimum and probably should have been a penalty shot. It was clear cut.

F***** sake.

******* Appleton should have ended the game.

This was the best road game they played and they still f****** lost.

What could have been.  See you later Ehlers.

Yup, floating

Amazing season. Division title, President’s Trophy. Thrilling win for the ages over the Blues. Frankly played the Stars even if not outplayed them if you look at the series as a whole. Just too much adversity to overcome, not enough puck luck, and just enough missed opportunities to make the difference. Now we’ll hear the injury report that Morrissey likely playing with a busted shoulder and now torn knee ligaments. Scheifele playing with a concussion. Valardi a back or shoulder injury that never healed. Ehlers coming off a broken leg and not 100%. And I’d wager a bunch more we don’t know about (Schoen, Gus, Stanley, maybe Connor). Loss stings now, but what a tremendous year.

Can’t say Jets didn’t have their chances. Thought they were the better team in the game honestly just a tough break going into OT. That was tough watching 55 in the box with his head down. You could tell at that moment he was hurting. Gotta enjoy the Helle and Scheifele hug tho. That seemed like 2 really good friends having a moment. Helles dad was close with Scheifeles. Next year Mark. Hopefully without tragedy and suspect reffing in a couple/all of the games and a full healthy roster. And I’m not gonna say they lost because of reffing. That was a legit call there but i go back to game 3 and the kicked in goal. I’d love to see a series where refs maybe don’t decide the outcome.  This isn’t the group who bent over and took it from a few years ago. The boys have become men and they fought and fought and fought till the end. Should be proud. I think what they did was get people excited about the Winnipeg Jets again. Let’s find a 2 center and see what happens with Ehlers.

id prob let apples walk. Same with Tanev. ( just 2 much $$$ for 4th line) I’d try to trade Schenn and Stanley for draft picks. (No not 1sts)

sign samberg long term. Not sure about gabe as his California born gf apparently might not be a winter fan so if that’s the case, who knows. He’s RFA… offer sheets a possibility   Or trade possibility also.  Injuries are a concern there also.

id take a hard look at Nino also and prob have to make a tough call there  trade keep or even buy out

jets could be a bit younger next year  I think Chibrikov if healthy is a guy. Lambert? Not a great year for him. Salo could be ready to take a RHD spot. Yager? That’s likely the 2 center

I wonder if they sign Jonathan Toews tho. Not necessarily as 2C. I think lowered expectations there.

could be an interesting off season.

Order of priority

Ehlers. He’s UFA July 1. Heard they want to sign him but perhaps they have an internal team cap that 55 and 37 set with the 8.25 aav or and maybe nik wants more (he’s not really worth more tho ) but could see a Chicago giving him a ridiculous like 5 year 50 million  to play with Bédard to create a soft super talented individuallly but not in a system line

samberg. RFA.

gabe. RFA.

I think Ehlers has played his last game as a jet.

We really need some depth scoring additions and sandpaper and grit.    We also need to work on the faceoffs.

Yes it was a great season, and I think this was a missed opportunity.   Jets deserved a better fate.

I'm tired of next year country but we are there again.    Maybe Chevy can work some off-season magic.

yeah but at least  "there's always next year" came later than normal this year.....actually this is around the same time we were bounced in round three seven years ago

I can take some kind of comfort knowing that we outlasted Vegas, and we got revenge against the Blues

That reminds me how long were the Bombers between games when Richard Harris died? I still remember the day the news broke my parents and I were on our annual two day shopping trip to the states in July of 2011

Toews as a vet guy who has won would be huge for this team imo.
