Believe it happened right after we scored and I was sitting at the far end of the stadium but you could feel the crowd react to that.  Definitely a statement play in a game full of statement plays.

Agreed. Comes down to not good enough or not learning the Canadian game as quickly as others. 

Interesting about gowanlock.... Wonder if that's an injury thing or what.

Would think that’s what this is too, also maybe Laing. But as the roster is I don’t think we need a generic utility big body. We are gonna be loaded with big tweeners who can do a lot of situational stuff.

Just because he was released doesn't mean he was at rookie camp.  He missed most of last year so maybe he wasn't going to be ready for main camp so cut him now and use that roster spot elsewhere.

I haven’t seen anywhere that the BBs have actually signed Connor Shay.  Is he participating in NFL tryouts, or is his signing just a formality prior to TC.  Didn’t see him on the rookie camp list either.

From what I see he accepted mini camp with the jets, which wraps up today. The packers ended on the 3rd, the bills on the 10th. 
 So I would expect either he gets an ota/tc deal or he probably signs with us this week. 
 Elgersma was rumoured to be getting a full tc deal, then it was him going for a final set of interviews that could yield the deal but that hasn’t been finalized yet either. 
Hopefully the nfl delays won’t lead to kids like them sitting hoping for some thing that doesn’t come. 

Looks like the jets signed two other udfa tweener lbers and I don’t see any thing from them in news about Shay other than that he attended rookie camp. 
Similar with the packers camp news. So I bet Shay signs with in a week here.

I think Parker and Bridges are just being given opportunity to determine their versatility in other positions.  I'm not saying either are at specific risk but we have 10 rookie DB's fighting to make the roster. COMPETITION at both of those positions is somewhat open.

It's only day 1 so in the grand scheme of things doesn't mean much yet. It's whether specific players get extended looks at specific spots for several days.

I'm not quite sure what to think about Lawson and Schoen moved to " injured veteran " list.  Does this mean they may not be available to start the season? That changes several things.

 

I mean I don’t think it’s any secret we’re going American at safety

Never thought of Parker at safety...he'd be lethal there...Best closer in the secondary in my opinion...and one of if not the fastest

I don't think Parker is in jeopardy of not making final roster in the least...he can play all the db spots..and Sam.. and is probably best form tackler on team...same with closing ability..mind u I havnt been to camp yet to see the new guys..but he hasn't been kept around 2+ yrs outta charity

Love Parker. Hopefully he can bounce back nicely from injury.

I'd have to imagine they want a vet playing safety to quarterback the secondary. Can't think of a better fit from our roster
