Round 3 - Game 2: Golden Knights at Jets

1718JETS029_BMTSP-VS-Graphics_525x525_VG

Monday, CBC, Sportsnet, NBCSN  at 7:00 p.m.

Tagline: "Sin City vs. River City"

Storyline: After a quick start and workmanlike performance in a Game 1 win, the Jets look to continue feeding off of the whiteout and take a 2-0 lead into T-Mobile, as the rest of the NHL and the American media start to take notice of the whiteout pandemonium and the top team still remaining in the playoffs.

Quote: “They're like a pack of wolves the way they keep coming at you" - Ken Hitchcock on the Jets

Quote #2: “Who are these guys?" - Paul Newman and Robert Redford repeatedly in "Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid"

Fun facts: Marc-Andre Fleury only gave up 3 first period goals in his first 10 playoff games this year before giving up 3 against the Jets on Saturday.......the Jets playoff opponents so far had 101, 117, and 109 points in the regular season for a total of 327, the second highest total in NHL history for the first 3 rounds (LA in 2014 faced San Jose, Anaheim and Chicago and their total of 334 points....Saturday's appearance on NBC was the first time ever the Jets appeared on American network TV....the decibel meter in Bell-MTS Centre hit 112.4 on Thursday night at the viewing party as the Jets wrapped up their series against Nashville, with only about 7,000 fans in the building.....Winnipeg and Vegas are the first two rookie participants in the Western Conference Final since Anaheim and Minnesota in 2003.....with 8 years of combined residency in their respective cities, this is the youngest franchise match-up in the playoffs since Colorado (1st year) and Florida (2nd year) met in the 1996 Stanley Cup Finals....this is the first time either team has trailed in a playoff series this year.

Who else wants to beat Vegas in 4 just to shut them and their fans and the media up?

Pretty simple - Enstrom comes out, Kuli goes in.  This is not rocket science.

Thats what I was thinking but personal feelings aside, Toby has played well.  Kulikov hasnt played in a long time.  I'd wait til one of the LHD plays their way out of the line up rather then make a change right now.

Yeah, either Toby or Chiarot would have to have a really bad game at this point and even then Toby probably would be given more leeway.  I'm shocked Kuli is back though.

I was really worried it would keep him out long term.  Bodes very well for next season.  Morrissey-Kulikov-Chiarot starts next season probably.  Maybe Morrow gets a contract as the extra D with Niku as the first call-up.

Great news about Kulikov!

Him, Morrow and Poolman as the extras moving forward is wonderful D depth for the final 2 rounds.

Well that settles it.  Enstrom has to come out of the lineup now that Jan Kostalek is available.

Let's do this, I've got the tunes ready, I've got Anna and the King ready

2-0 knights after 1....not a good start guys

Is there a song  called Even Numbered Game Blues?

Refs need to call the hook on connor that lead directly to the 1st goal. Brutal line change tho. Wake up.

Refs need to call a balanced game. There are two teams out there....

The fix is in.

no change in scoring after 2

come on guys, where's the team that almost chased Fleury out of the net two days ago

Vegas getting away with trips hooks holds all game long. Wheeler gets a penalty. Fix is in.

Well bettman needs to make this a series to appease the owners.

Ive notice a distinct bias in reffing during the first four games of most series. Usually to keep one team running away with the series.

Agreed. Also how dont u call that trip on Morrissey or McNabb laying the lumber to Scheif with no puck near.

Next game is odd numbered :D

Lol. Jets won 3 of 4 in Nashville. Uphill battle? Lol its 1 1. Jets haven't had much rest and it showed .. For about 10 minutes in the first... 3 giveaways.. 3 goals. Clean it up. Jets better on the road.

Vegas got all the bounces. Could have been 2 0 Jets early.

The chances were there, next game they will bury them.  Trouba makes a mistake like that maybe one play in a thousand.

I still say Jets in 5.
