Current FG Made Streaks: An update of CFL Kickers current FG made streaks with Sean Whyte and Justin Medlock now each at over 20 in a row dating back to 2016. Justin Medlock is on the longest streak of his career (previous high: 22), while Sean Whyte has matched his previous long run (24 in 2011):

Of the seven winning teams thus far, only two have been on the positive side for Possession Time. Five losing teams have won the TOP battle and on average clubs who have lost have averaged 31:15 to 28:45 for the opposition.

This year there have been very slow starts to scoring as the by-quarter breakdown shows. Scoring in the opening quarter has averaged just 6.4 points per game and only 11% of the total:

The average points per game across the CFL through the first 8 contests is 56.1 points per game, the highest it has been since 2008 (56.2 ppg).

Among the teams with at least two games played the Lions have drawn the fewest penalties in the CFL at 6.5 per game. They have just two defensive calls against them compared to Edmonton whose defence has been flagged 13 times.

Montreal's defensive unit comes into this week ranked #2 with just 19.5 opponent offensive points allowed. Overall as a team they are #1 at 19.5 per game ahead of Toronto and BC both at 21.5 per game against.

The Argonauts lead the league with 9 sacks followed by BC Lions and Edmonton Eskimos each with five.

DeVier Posey (TOR) leads the league in receiving yards in 2017 with 218.

-Greg Ellingson has the most targets this season with 23, followed by Bryan Burnham, Marquay McDaniel and Posey each with 20.

How would you like to be a DB in this league? Fight for 50/50 ball.....penalty Receiver runs into you......penalty You make a brush on an un-catchable ball......penalty You touch a receiver

What a garbage review... ruining the game.

Why does the Command Centre always get it wrong?

Like I said, the biggest complaint was the Incidental Contact rule & coaches fishing for penalties. The CFL decided to leave it status quo. I agree 100%.

Someone tweet at the new Commissioner that the command centre is a farce.

how is there not holding on BC oline there?

Ambrosie needs to take the CFL back from  the clutches of Glenn Johnson.

THAT WAS A WEAK CALL THAT WILL INFLUENCE THE GAME..

Weak call of the week, or week call of the weak

Bede should tone down his antics, his next FG slump is a few games away.

I followed the swing.  He hit a pop fly to left.

Wow, Durant. Maybe Jones was right.

Wally chewing thru his cheek.

Wally reaching for a cheese burger....

BS PI call, the ball never even made it to the reception point, Burnett made an excellent read.

Refs still call the D for PI when the receiver initiates contact. Gotta get rid of that too.

Great time for the Als defense to go S-A-W_F-T.

What a waste for Lulay to be the short yardage qb.

Decent game...  refs and review really influenced it.  Its now one minute since I stopped watching and I can hardly remember who won.

Durant and Chapdelaine have no chemistry.  Jennings very lucky to have Lulay in his corner.

BC Sucks.

Need them to lose this one. Lets have a long drive from Durant for a TD to tie this thing up. Anything can happen in OT.

Montreal O sucks..

?

Are you saying he should be starting?  If so, take a look at his 2015 season.  His shoulder is shot.

Montreal looks horribly disorganized in all phases.  Decent amount of talent though.  Thorpe playing a lot of soft zone, like second and eight and the first level of zone is at 11 yards.

Jeremiah Johnson is the best RB in the league

Not sure he was even the best RB in that game.

I think it was Suitor who said the first Lions game of the year (it may have been exhibition) that Lulay's shoulder is now 100% & may even be stronger than before the injuries, If so, he is too good to sit on the bench. He should ask for a trade. Why end up being another Jarious Jackson or Drew Tate?
