Do we go 8-1 or 7-3-1?

I would think that Scheif, Wheeler and Little are locks to be protected and we have to protect Enstrom and Buff because of their NMCs.

Opinions will change as the year goes on and some players play better/worse and some might be traded but right now they would go 8-1.

Helle for a goalie but who is the 8th player we shold protect?

MP? Lowry? Armia? Dano? Copp?

I say send them a draft pick so they take Copp. A 3rd rounder or so.

It's a win win for Enstom he stays where he wants and gets an extension and a little bit of security.

Yeah. But meh, it's one more year and it doesn't hurt us in any way since we have no salary constraints. There's no way he'll get that kind of money on his extension.

According to the twittervese of speculation it'd only be a one year extension, so again, meh if he gets paid a bit more than he probably should.

That's what I said all along. The enticement is an extension. Surprised it's only one year. But of course Vegas can still take him unless the jets make a side deal. 

 

If the Jets only lose Dano then that's a great expansion draft for us...  We already have a bunch of mediocre flash in a pan once in a while young guys like Armia ,  Petan ,  Copp , Connor , Etc.....

Well it doesn't make sense for the Jets to ask Enstrom to waive his nmc then work out a deal to keep him. Pretty sure Vegas passes on him if not...meh.

Huge props to Enstrom for doing us a solid. We look as well set as anyone in the league and don't stand to lose a real valuable player.

McPhee has said he'll talk to every team prior to making each selection, that coupled with Toby's comments about how much he likes it here tells me there's a very slim chance he'd be taken even if Vegas wanted him. 

Of the guys who have been exposed, many are rumoured to have side deals already in place to not be selected. I don't see Vegas getting Vatanen, Manson, Mrazek, Marchessault maybe even Raanta. 

Its going to be fascinating to see how much youth & picks Vegas can acquire by taking other's scraps with heavy deals.  The next few draft boards are going to have a huge number of VGK picks, if they do it right.

There's some real nice tendy's available... so I'm looking at losing Dano, then hopefully packing a prospect & pick for a G.

Be interesting to see if there are any leaks.  If Vegas has several of their pics at the arena for the announcement then they obviously are being told ahead of time and trans'ed in.

It's a huge game of chicken.  Will Vegas take Enstrom?  Are they trying to extract a pick or prospect from the Jets?  Have the Jets just accelerated the move away from Enstrom by a year and decided to sacrifice him to Vegas?  In the big picture I think the Jets are ok to lose any of the exposed players.  I'm kinda hoping they don't make a goofy deal to hold on to Enstrom.

They can't pass up on dano. He simply has more value

Unless Vegas sees Enstrom as a top-pairing defenceman.  There aren't many other guys available that can fill that role...

I think if they take Toby it's because they see him as an asset that could bring in something better than Dano. 

But Dano seems like a good get for Vegas.
