Now all the true blue loving Republicans want the FBI gutted and defunded.   Hypocrites,

Although appropriate I find the word hypocrite much to soft a term to apply in certain situations. I don’t care who you are and what political stripe you wear, everything is transactional for extreme hypocrites. Other than Twitter shaming, they never feel pain for this behaviour. It’s exhausting, maddening, frustrating, suffocating etc etc.

So Trump didn't want to tell the people of America what he had taken so AG Garland says no problem we will

Merrick Garland Says He ‘Personally Approved’ Seeking Mar-A-Lago Search Warrant

Attorney General Merrick Garland announced Thursday that he had “personally approved” the decision for the FBI to seek a search warrant to raid former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home on Monday.

The Department of Justice has moved to make the warrant public, he said, citing the clear public interest in the investigation.
Law enforcement authorities had been searching for any potentially sensitive classified government documents that had been improperly kept at Mar-a-Lago, according to reports that the Department of Justice appeared to confirm Thursday in a court filing.

The spectacle of executing a search warrant at the home of a former president led to speculation that the contents of the possible materials were highly sensitive. Garland declined to give any detail about what the FBI may have found at the Florida resort.

“Federal law, longstanding department rules and our ethical obligations prevent me from providing further details as to the basis of the search at this time,” Garland said.  “There are, however, certain points that I want you to know, “First, I personally approved the decision to seek a search warrant in this matter. Second, the department does not take such a decision lightly. Where possible, it is standard practice to seek less intrusive means as an alternative to a search and to narrowly scope any search that is undertaken.”

A Trump-appointed federal judge reviewed the evidence at hand and approved the search warrant, as is the usual procedure.

Abortion pill "reversals" are "unscientific." Anti-choice groups are hawking them anyway

Some crisis pregnancy centers run by anti-choice groups are pushing a procedure called an "abortion pill reversal"
Last weekend, outrage ensued in the wake of a disturbing profile in the Washington Post of anti-choice advocate Jana Pinson, who is building a massive $10 million crisis pregnancy center in south Texas. In one of the more shocking moments in the profile, Pinson explains how pregnant girls who are barely post-pubescent should embrace motherhood.

"I've seen a lot of 13-year-olds do phenomenal" as mothers, Pinson said. "It doesn't have to be a negative thing." The comments went viral on social media, obviously due to the horror of them, as Salon's Amanda Marcotte recently opined. In the profile, Pinson — whose crisis pregnancy center is far from a pipe dream in part thanks to an already purchased plot of land, blueprints, and a vision for a "coffee shop and a thrift store visible from the road" — also explained how she plans to expand their offerings for "abortion reversals."

Good grief- I don't know how long the effects of his presidency will continue to ripple throughout the world...

 but really, is not surprising.

"WASHINGTON — Jared Kushner's application for a top-secret clearance was rejected by two career White House security specialists after an FBI background check raised concerns about potential foreign influence on him — but their supervisor overruled the recommendation and approved the clearance, two sources familiar with the matter told NBC News.

The official, Carl Kline, is a former Pentagon employee who was installed as director of the personnel security office in the Executive Office of the President in May 2017. Kushner's was one of at least 30 cases in which Kline overruled career security experts and approved a top-secret clearance for incoming Trump officials despite unfavorable information, the two sources said. They said the number of rejections that were overruled was unprecedented — it had happened only once in the three years preceding Kline's arrival"

nbc news.

2019

"the report provides fresh evidence of the ease with which some corporate and foreign interests have gained access to Trump and other senior members of his administration.

Documents obtained by the Democratic-led U.S. House of Representatives Oversight Committee raise “serious questions about whether the White House is willing to place the potential profits of the President’s friends above the national security of the American people and the universal objective of preventing the spread of nuclear weapons,” the report said."

publicly stopped, but just continued to do the sale to saudi. nuclear weapons tech.

price two billion.

would not be surprised to see him move there, while he can still leave usa.

Trump Basically Admits He Had Nuclear Docs At Mar-a-Lago

Everything that Trump listed in his post was true. Trump was impeached twice. That’s not a hoax. The Mueller investigation found that the Trump campaign had a relationship with the Russians.
The strongest point that suggests that there were nuclear documents in Trump’s position is his claim that the FBI planted evidence against him.

It is not complicated. If there were no top secret nuclear documents at Mar-a-Lago, Trump could say that there were no nuclear documents at Mar-a-Lago, but by claiming that the evidence was planted, he was trying to discredit what the FBI found.

Trump Believes That He Had Unlimited Power As President
The arrows point toward Donald Trump stealing top secret documents because Trump’s concept of presidential power is that he was the United States and has unlimited power. Under that belief system, Trump would feel like he can take whatever he wants, including top secret documents.

Not enough attention is being paid to the fact that Trump withheld documents from the FBI and the National Archives. He lied and said that all materials were handed over when they were not.

The question needs to be asked every day what was Donald Trump planning on doing with the stolen documents?

Trump is the first former president to steal classified information on his way out the door, and his claim that the nuclear weapons allegation is a hoax, but the evidence was planted, is an admission of guilt.

Question of the day:

What would make this paper-shredding, toilet flushing president......... opt to keep a safe with documents that might incriminate him in federal crimes?

hell, why does anyone store paper documents these days?  scan 'em, put 'em on an encrypted flash drive, burn the originals, scatter the ashes.

New word I'm really beginning to dislike how some media and others are inappropriately using.: Mishandling.

It totally downplays the seriousness of what is going on here and deflects it to making inappropriate comparisons to much less serious situations.

More like stealing and concealing.

Stop the Steal

FBI Director details the 'deplorable' threats he’s received since Mar-a-Lago search

The director of the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) recently shared details about the disturbing threats he's received since agents searched former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago property in Florida.

On Wednesday, August 10, Christopher Wray called the threats leveled toward the FBI and U.S. Department of Justice “deplorable and dangerous.”
"I’m always concerned about threats to law enforcement,” Wray said during a news conference at the FBI's Omaha, Neb., office. “Violence against law enforcement is not the answer, no matter who you’re upset with.”

Many of the threats have been made via social media platforms that typically cater to far-right extremists and Trump supporters. Per HuffPost, "reactions included the ubiquitous 'Lock and load' and calls for federal agents and even U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland to be assassinated."

On the social media platform Gab, one social media user who only goes by the name Stephen said that he was "awaiting 'the call' to mount an armed revolution.  “All it takes is one call. And millions will arm up and take back this country. It will be over in less than 2 weeks,” the post said.

Another posting on the same platform also said, “Let's get this started! This unelected, illegitimate regime crossed the line with their GESTAPO raid! It is long past time the lib socialist filth were cleansed from American society!”

Gunfire With Police: Reports
“Law enforcement has traded shots with a male suspect who is wearing a gray shirt and body armor,” an alert said.

Police have exchanged gunfire with an armed man after he made threats at an FBI building in Cincinnati, according to reports.

The incident began Thursday morning after a man armed with a gun showed up to the building and began making threats, the FBI said in a statement.

“At approximately 9 AM this morning an armed subject attempted to breach the Visitor Screening Facility at #FBI Cincinnati,” the FBI’s Cincinnati bureau said on Twitter. “After an alarm and a response by FBI special agents, the subject fled north onto Interstate 71.”

Why is body armour readily available for purchase to the general public?  What other purpose could it possibly serve other than protection when engaging in gunfire with another human?  It should be a registered sale item only available to licensed specialists and include a heavy deposit so it can not be resold on the black market for profit.

BBC World Service is reporting that, according to an unnamed FBI agent, they recovered "Top secret" documents relating to nuclear security as well as correspondence with Estonia detailing their military positions. And that is only part of what they found- more to come and these boxes were stored in a storage room in a basement at Mar A Logo. Republicans are frantic.
