Lets see if we can keep this thread a little more civil.

I found this interview very interesting.  A lot of soft balls thrown at Trump, he explained his back pedalling on his more extreme issues as a lot of his claims as opening bids for negotiation purposes.  Which .. whatever .. I still think that those are insincere claims he used to get elected.

He does now come across way more presidential then he did prior to the election.  A lot of his noise, yelling, and rhetoric has been scaled back.

Comparing the Democratic party to the French army in 1940 doesn't feel so off-base though

the democrats are a huge spectrum of people, everyone from "please can we just have competent people running the american hegemony?" to "let's turn Bloomberg into meatloaf for the unemployed and tax five zeroes off everyone else."

whereas the Republicans are solidly united to force the birth, starve the child, imprison the teen, enslave the adult, silence the uppity, own the libs, and to tax for the sole purpose of enriching the entrenched interests

Perhaps. but Sanders would have to pretty well kill off some sectors of the lobbyist industry, to make some of it happen.   The doner class will fight that tooth and nail.

30% of dem support might win. But it means 70% votes for other Dems.  If everyone by Biden or Warren quit today we’d see a real battle.

trump will have a good shot at beating anyone. He's stacked the deck in his favour...  Whether it be mini mike and his height and low energy, Liz Warren and her bogus heritage claim, Pete not representing the values of the nation, or Biden being a ******* relic... 

trump's going to have crazy illegal support- anyone is going to be in tough. Bernie and his socialism will get hammer too... but Bernie seems to be the only one in the field that has real momentum.

The threat of shutting down of entire fossil fuel industries wont just freak out the multi nationals and the donor class....

 ordinary people with good paying jobs in previously depressed areas ( after going years without one) will tell Sanders to take his repackaged Marxism and shove it.

Barring an even crazier cheating effort than last time or a crazy last minute scandal, trump would get whooped by anyone. But not Bernie.
