US Politics

Lets see if we can keep this thread a little more civil.

I found this interview very interesting.  A lot of soft balls thrown at Trump, he explained his back pedalling on his more extreme issues as a lot of his claims as opening bids for negotiation purposes.  Which .. whatever .. I still think that those are insincere claims he used to get elected.

He does now come across way more presidential then he did prior to the election.  A lot of his noise, yelling, and rhetoric has been scaled back.

Do respect this one though:

Quote

Lesley Stahl: Are you gonna take the salary, the president’s salary?

Donald Trump: Well, I’ve never commented on this, but the answer is no. I think I have to by law take $1, so I’ll take $1 a year. But it’s a -- I don’t even know what it is.

Donald Trump: Do you know what the salary is?

Lesley Stahl: $400,000 you’re giving up.

Donald Trump: No, I’m not gonna take the salary. I’m not taking it.

After Trump is done patting himself on the back telling America how great he is tonight Jimmy Kimmel might be interesting if Daniels decides to elaborate on her relationship with Trump.

She should just come out and say it.  I saw one legal advisor on CNN saying she was dangerously close to violating the NDA by her acting coy and she was likely daring Trump to sue her.  he cant sue her.  Can you imagine?  The reason he never sues anyone is because he's **** scared of being deposed.  Plus you KNOW he loves that people know he nailed a porn star.  if anyone should deny it, its her, not him.  She's pulling $75,000 a night right now.

She should just reveal all.  In fact, let one of these TV shows pay the $130,000 back and get the story.

Her friend Alana Evans said she declined an invitation to go up to the room where Daniels and Trump  we're having a "party" because he is not Brad Pitt , your right she should sell her story to whoever  pays her the most and let Trump sue her.

Read somewhere that Putin has 200 billion dollars.

probably not from his salary.

That's explains why getting rid of the sanctions is so important to him and his friends

If he has stashed that much, he's got to move his billions to where it can't be recovered.

That's Trump's job. So far, so good.

He certainly appears to have Trump by the balls. Cause not signing that sanctions  order is going to be hard for even those characters to ignore.

I seem to recall that it was the Americans under Obama that led the sanctions charge. Europeans jumped in, now Americans are walking away.

LOL, for following  along so meekly in the first place.

Eventually countries will tire of this sh%t. if it continues.

Loved the crutches! Great SOTU by Trump last night. I really enjoyed it whenever the camera panned to the peed off Dems including confused old man Bernie and angry Peloser.  That was classic!

WHat exactly about the sotu address struck a chord with you? WHat made it "great"?

Who cares.

I was just curious if it was something in the address that made it great, of whether it was just the "sticking it" to the liberals that made it awesome.

Doesn't matter what Trump says or does, it's all good as long as the snowflake libtards are mad.

Despite the obvious baiting post, lets not let this thread be locked.  If someone is a right wing supporter here, by all means, explain your position maturely.  Im very perplexed why any conservative would defend, let alone embrace Trump.

Lot of truth in this actually

Lol. If we want to stay unlocked, how about anyone who says anything remotley positive about Trump not just be dismissed as "baiting", which I wasn't actually doing.

As for your second question, if you want an honest answer, I can give you my perspective. I have been in Hawaii for 10 days now, proudly wearing my Bomber hats and shirts, and when not engaging in "Riders suck!"chants with Saskatchewan types (or explaining to them how indoor plumbing works) I've been talking to Americans here about their government.

My sense is that they are starting to settle in now and have stopped panicking. The stock market is up and the economy is strong. Are they 100% happy with Trump? Of course not. But things aren' as bad as some may represent either. It's easy as a foreigner to judge, especially if you don't talk to any Americans and just listen to the media.

Thats interesting.  I spent 10 days in Mexico in December at a resort where the overwhelming population was Americans.  It was during the time of Moore campaign/election so there was a lot of chatter.  And it was slanted largely against Trump with some people offering apologies to the non-Americans (in jest of course, but their feelings were clear).  I did meet one couple that was pro-Trump and we had a nice conversation.  He was staunchly anti-CNN and pro FOX but when I offered my opinion that I cant take FOX seriously because they are far more biased than CNN (or at least overtly biased) he said "give me an example" and I mentioned Hannity and he agreed and said dont ever watch hannity.

He also went on to say that he hated the more extreme methods of FOX and others because it clouded the issue.  He felt that a lot of what Trump says/does and who he surrounds himself with and how thats presented by the FOX-type media made it hard for people to agree with.

Then his wife took off her top and we did shots.

Now this is what brings everyone together! :)

I have been watching both Fox and CNN and while I agree that Fox hosts like Hannity are awful, CNN hosts like Don Lemon are equally biased. Watching MSNBC last night the anti Trump pro Democrat cheerleading was vomit inducing. They were basically crowning the Kennedy  kid that did the response as the next president in waiting.  Then I switched over to Fox and the pro Trump rhetoric was equally nauseating. It's easy to see why society is so polarized.

Yeah but he's a Kennedy, until he kills someone or has some other scandal he's the next President in waiting. And maybe he will be!

I always like how liberals paint Republicans as pure evil and then celebrate when something like this train accident happens.  Disgusting.
