the McDavid joke was already done.  And Edmonton has no D and needs D men.  That's why.  Jets have some other spare parts to throw in the deal like Armia/Stafford/Burmi.

Edmonton already got bent over a barrel and shown the 50 states to get a defenseman, they don't need to do it again. Best we can do is Yakupov and Reinhart. Maybe Brandon Davidson if you want a current top 4 guy.

very good point.  Too bad Chevy didn't get to Chiarelli before New Jersey did.  Not sure what Chiarelli was drinking that day but it must have been some good stuff.

Edmonton probably isn't an option. 

I think Trouba is headed East if traded.

Philly, Canes, Rangers and Isles could be trade partners.

If he is traded for a LHD, I hope it is an "exempt from the draft" one.

EDM needs veteran D-men IMHO.

Klefbom alone is probably better than Trouba he just missed too much time being injured. So under rated. Rnh too. Don't want Trouba unless it's cheap anyway. Too much of an American

Probably not as a result of his asking price AND not exactly sure if he's as good as he thinks.

Probably wont be traded to any Canadian teams so were are down to 23, of the those who can afford 5-6 m long term, not many Detroit is probably where he wants to go so i will play along. Detroit has cap problems but i would take Dekeyser and Tatar for Trouba plus a small add

Whats his asking price? He said himself it's not about money. Nobody will give him 6 7 million long term. The comparables are in... Reilly got 5. Trouba will be lucky to get that.

It's called salary cap for some teams and I'm betting that some won't want/can't pay 3-5 mil for a non-slam dunk proven commodity.

A 22 year old right handed D man will bring back a Damn good haul and every team will have interest.

This is very interesting because it's counter to what we had been told. And actually if you take the player and agent at their word they are saying playing here is not an issue. But I can understand trouba position to a degree

his agent has probably laid out his future compensation based on being a 1RHD. And laid it out for him if he plays a diminished role on the left because he isn't as good or comfortable. 

Keep in mind it seemed the jets plan last season was to trade Buff. If they did this is moot 

clearly the jets feel the player should sign and play where he's told  Maurice has said recently that he sees trouba as 1LHD so knowing the player doesn't want to do that they have publicly said that's his role  

The agent has a strategy but if it's to stay in wpg and get what he wants the posturing could backfire. Chevy could say going public cooled the market and they won't take less than they want so trouba sits out

it could be thi drags til December when Trou a would have to lose the whole season. 

It sucks because the optics will be star players wanting out of winnipeg. Kane and now trouba publicly asking to trades.
