Maybe Huf will come over to be HC/GM if the Stamps want Dickensom to take over.

Interesting Bob Irving says Boyd could be Drew Willy’s backup next season. Bob’s usually pretty plugged into what the Bombers are thinking. This could suggest Nichol’s isn’t re-signing before testing free agency.
I would say it's pretty obvious that he'll test free agency, why wouldn't he?
-
Crompton would be an upgrade over Brohm and Marve, but I'd much rather have Nichols.
At the moment, I agree. I would like to see Nichols against Montreals defence as opposed to Saskatchewans before I completely buy in.
Regardless, Nichols is way better than Brohm or Marve.

Agreed 100 per cent. If he comes here, he'll be a project. This isn't a bad move though by any means.Reminds me of Troy Smith in terms of raw skills. Hopefully he can learn how to pass in this league.
Personally...I think everybody gave up on Smith too early.
Smith was also around 30 when he finally came up here. He had bounced around for a while in the NFL. Boyd only turns 25 this month.

6'2" and 222lb is short and stocky???
I'm pretty sure he's 6' 0", which is definitely short by NFL standards (most 6'3" guys' scouting reports will say they 'lack ideal height')

Sammy Watkins wore #2 at Clemson.
Sammy Watkins is 6 and he's playing with the bills of the NFL.Two things:
- I wish our o-line gave any of our QBs the kind of protection this guy is getting.
- Where the heck is #6 playing now?? We need to sign that guy!
You're totally right.
#6 is Deandre Hopkins. Also a first round pick in the NFL.

Drafted 4th overall and had nearly 1000 yards as a rookie with among the worst QBing in the NFL.

Not totally new players but Bass' pick 6 was a great play. However, he sure seems slow getting into the end zone. What was noticeable is that is own player, Bruce Johnson blasted up the field to escort Bass for the score. I did not know this and just learned but Bruce Johnson scored the first defensive touchdown in the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium. He has also won an NFC Championship and has a Super bowl ring. He's recognized as having burning speed.
Well, I hope all our DBs can out run our LBs.

Why is he ineligible?
Well, he's ineligible for rookie of the year so no worries there.Johnny Adams better play like an adult this week or his rook of the year nomination is in jeopardy.
And if Nichols can actually get the ball away quickly and bring some tempo and urgency to the O, that would be good.
Also, it would be nice to see if Winnipeg can run the ball at all.
Because he dressed for a few games in the NFL.

I think you're going about this somewhat backwards. I doubt the BOD gets involved in that way quite yet. MB will be fired at some point, likely in the off season, but I think MOS starts next season as HC. If next year is another disaster, then he will get canned. Walters, I think, will get another HC to hire, but if that doesn't improve things, then Miller will have to fire Walters and hire a new GM.
None of that starts will Miller getting fired. Not unless they catch him spending cash on cheeseburgers and foot massagers for his basement.
I have that same feeling UNLESS the next 2-3 games how we consistently demonstrate no compete in our game. Then he's gone for sure imo and Hall is promoted to interim.
I certainly wouldn't mind that, although I can't see a situation in which MOS is gone and MB coaches on.
Also, I'm starting to notices that the successful teams across the league seem to be run by offensive minded coaches. The last couple of ours have definitely not been even capable of running an offensive meeting and I might hesitate handing the team off to another DC.

Uh.. Just throwing this out there...
Isnt it kinda hard to expect your offense to be dominating and forcing its will upon defenses when your best QB is in crutches and our second and third strings are shitting the bed?
Just an observation.. Especially since when Willy was capable and able to move the ball, get first downs, etc.
Our record with Willy at the healm is nothing to be proud of though. We also got blown out in games that he's started. It doesn't excuse MBs offense in any way.

Thank you. The Blue Bomber board will fire Miller if they don't believe he is doing the job. I imagine if that happened they could do a total housecleaning if need be by firing Walters & MOS. Not beyond the realm of possibility. However, it's all about timing & when (if) it happens. In reality, firing Miller means the team didn't do well so a trickle down effect would take place anyway when a new President is named.
I congratulate you on your involvement in your community. Boards like that need good people who are prepared to roll up their sleeves and get the dirty work done. Having said that, I can assure you that the type of board you sat on is very different from that of the Bombers. I've been on NGO boards, community boards like the one you have served on and corporate boards. The Bombers will function very much like the corporate boards. They'll approve budgets, set overall goals for the corporation, set policies and by-laws, review various aspects of the organization and receive reports from Miller, and if required, from other senior managers. What they won't do is personnel stuff or football operation stuff. Trust me, you do not want a board messing with that stuff. Ever.
I have experience on one here in Calgary. We did hire 3 head football coaches for 3 different community teams under the same organization when I was on that board over 3 years from 2004 thru 2006. I actually helped set up that very board as our first bantam team went from being an expansion team being run exclusively by the league that set it up to a team part of that league but acting independent of it decisions wise. Under the board, our organization grew from one bantam team with 34 kids (ages 13-15) to 2 atom teams (ages 8-10), a pee wee team (ages 11 & 12) & a midget team (ages 15-17) with nearly 200 players.
I'm guessing you haven't been on a lot of boards.
Ultimately, the **** falls on the BOD if the underling hirings don't work out.
So just so I know, how many times will you have to be told that the BoD had NOTHING to do with any of those hires except for Wade Miller? No one is suggesting that we bankrupt the club. My point was that we might get the BOD 's attention if all the losing affected the bottom line. I don't think they much care as long as the $$$ is there and keeps coming in.
Look at what they have put in place for us ...
Miller, a rookie at running a football club and unproven.
Walters, never been a GM before, not here, not anywhere. Also unproven.
Mike O'Shea, a rookie head coach, unproven.
Marcel Bellefeuille, failed as an OC everywhere he has been. Not even a has-been. A never-was. Unproven.
Pat Tracey, just fired as ST coach. Totally washed out here. Unproven.
Richie Hall, questionable hire but better than Etcheverry who was a total disaster. As yet, unproven.
I'll stop there but this looks like a Walmart list of cheap Chinese knock-offs! Where is the good stuff? The Bob Youngs, Hufnagels, Buonos, Austins, Steinauers, Wetenhalls, Popps, Calvillos, Desjardins, Hunts, Braleys, Stublers, Dickensons, Herveys, Rhodes, Jones, etc.?
Is this what the loyal fans of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers deserve after 25 years of misery? Wade Miller and the Keystone Cops? Please tell me it's not true.

I like this trade and I hope it means we are considering starting 3 American OL.
It's too bad that we put 5 years into Greaves and then he's gone for a second round pick but what can you do? Gotta make a move if it's not working out anymore.
Hey, we picked him up in the 5th or 6th round, got years of service out of him, and have now flipped him for a starter-ish, and a second rounder. That's pretty impressive.
-
Way too much lack of execution and mistakes on ST's.....had to be done. At least MOS is forced to step up and start getting a tighter grip on things......
Say what you want about MOS as a HC, but we just upgraded our ST coordinator significantly.
MOS has been right in the middle of ST for several weeks now. Not sure what he's going to do differently than he already has been.

Hmm I wonder even though he is hurt wouldn't it make more sense to throw that cash after Bret Jones?
Jones is still Giants property. They chose to keep him around despite the injury. He ain't coming back to the CFL any time soon.

If price was the same. Would you take Henoc Muamba or Ricky Ray? I only ask the question because should we be investing more money on the defence?
I don't think Ray would help this team at all.
Seriously! Have you been watching the team this year? Willy cant be depended on to play 18 games in a season.
But again the point of the post is should we be spending probably $250,000on a defensive player.
I remember the Eskimoes having some terrible teams with Ray under centre and I just don't think he would be effective at all in this offence with this OL. I also think he's still not ready to start and trade talks are pointless. Not to mention the fact that he would get injured faster than Willy did. His body is no longer durable enough to take the hits he would here.
Muamba on the other hand is a clear upgrade who would help our team now and going into the future. He is a cornerstone piece.

Um. At some point he has to care about the on field product. That is ultimately what makes or breaks your bottom line. It's clear MOS and Mini Mack are in way over their heads.
And when/if it becomes time to fire Walters, that's on him. I don't quit think we're at that point yet.

@garrettbillan1: @Wpg_BlueBombers Bellefeuille needs to be fired today & Oshea needs to examen how he holds players accountable; he currently doesn't.
@SteveMorley62: @garrettbillan1 Doug Brown tried to ask him after the game about the penalty discipline. Osh wouldn't answer. The jig is up..
@garrettbillan1: @SteveMorley62 Steve as a former player under O'Shea, what are your thoughts on how he disciplines players for stupid/bad penalties?
@SteveMorley62: @garrettbillan1 last year, he would show your penalty on the big screen in team meetings. That's it! Garrett you deserve better!
The guy is a fkn troll because he was cut... Wonder what he would have said on twitter when we were all saying he was the weak link on the OL
He becomes active with the fan base on social media and he's a troll?
If you scroll down his tweets beyond today, he's been disgustingly optimistic about the Bombers and their chances in games. Very supportive of the team and his former team mates. But like the rest of us, today seemed to be a final straw.
-
It's not really his job. O'Shea is the man in charge.

I like that.Bastien and Bruce Johnson are the scratches today according to Bombers twitter...?
EDIT: that was apparently a typo. Derrell Johnson was scratched, not Bruce.
What a SWEET DAY!

With Willy, we're better. Right now I don't think you can make the argument there's much difference between the two teams. I certainly wouldn't call anyone delusional who thinks so.
