  1. @garrettbillan1: @Wpg_BlueBombers Bellefeuille needs to be fired today & Oshea needs to examen how he holds players accountable; he currently doesn't.

@SteveMorley62: @garrettbillan1 Doug Brown tried to ask him after the game about the penalty discipline. Osh wouldn't answer. The jig is up..

@garrettbillan1: @SteveMorley62 Steve as a former player under O'Shea, what are your thoughts on how he disciplines players for stupid/bad penalties?

@SteveMorley62: @garrettbillan1 last year, he would show your penalty on the big screen in team meetings. That's it! Garrett you deserve better!

The guy is a fkn troll because he was cut... Wonder what he would have said on twitter when we were all saying he was the weak link on the OL

He becomes active with the fan base on social media and he's a troll?

If you scroll down his tweets beyond today, he's been disgustingly optimistic about the Bombers and their chances in games. Very supportive of the team and his former team mates. But like the rest of us, today seemed to be a final straw.

  2. I think Henoc should have to sign with us since we released him so he could try the NFL. Otherwise I think teams should stop releasing players to try the NFL.

Doesn't work like that in the CFL - even if he had an 'option' year left - he burned it when he was in Indy. This is why I keep berating the CFL draft here. Normally, in a draft, you draft the BPA or at worst the BPA for a position you have very little depth in. The CFL is the only pro NA draft I know of that you don't do that as if the player is 'too good' you won't get him.

If it wasn't for university rules - I'd like to see the draft completely abolished and just go to two territorial picks and the rest are UFA's that can be 'purchased' - maybe a similar system to the Soccer system- knowing you couldn't do that though until the players uni career was over.

What the hell are you talking about? Muamba played his entire three year contract here and left as a FA. In what league do you keep a guys right after his contract expires?

Of all the possible pickups, Gale looks to be the best. He knows, or should know, the CFL and has more CFL experience than Brohm, Marve, And Dominic combined. Then again, he could be another promising bust.

Gale's been in the CFL for 3 seasons and has 21 pass attempts. He was the short yardage QB in 2014 but otherwise has not had regular reps at QB. Marve alone has more on-field experience than Gale.

In his three years, Gale has to have been in film sessions, watched games, and even run scout teams, so I stand by my statement about CFL experience.

#3 gets zero reps in practice. Unless we have another injury, I'm good with the QBs we have in terms of retreads. I absolutely want out scouting staff out there looking for next year's third string/development guy, but I'm hopeful Nichols can get us through the rest of this season without needing to see the trio of cuts ever again.

If Nichols can elevate himself to being an "adequate" replacement for Willy, I can see him remaining on the Bombers roster for a number of year.  Much like Drew Tate in Cgy. not a #1 QB but a decent replacement in emergencies.

Tate is a good comparison. A guy who seems to have gotten injured during every attempt at being a starter, but has settled into an effective role as a back up.

  4. I get the feeling no matter how Brohm plays he's in for the next two games.

I very much disagree with that. The coaching staff has shown in the past few games that they'll pull Brohm and/or Marve after a certain point of ineptitude.

Whether we see Davis or Nichols go in is up for debate at that point.

job of head coach is to decide on his lineup. O'Shea might be right about Nichols not knowing the playbook. but if poor QB causes a loss ...

Gary's already setting the table, if the riders sweep, I wouldn't be surprised to see the press calling for O'Sheas head.

Win, lose or draw I don't think any changes are going to be made coaching wise from this point in.  The beginning of the bye-week was the best timing to axe MB, Willy out long-term, Nichols starting fresh and the other three QB's not making any progressions within the existing system.

I agree. Walters seems to place more blame on himself than on the coaching staff.

  6.

    Last time I believe Wiecek.

You mean there was a first time?

Trying not to let my dislike of the guy affect my opinion of his reporting - he seems like a decent enough journalist at times (I really enjoyed his interview with Kyle Walters recently), he just doesn't seem to have a good grasp of what's happening in front of him during practice.

  8. I have no problems with the changes but I must say Veltung must be screwing up big time to lose his spot to a newbie.  You cant tell watching the games on TV but maybe he's not running his routes hard enough or still running the wrong routes.

Interested to see Willie on the field.  Maybe he can stretch the defence a bit.

He didn't seem to be a full participant in practice this week. Maybe they had already decided to sit him, but I had assumed he was injured.

  9. There's discussion at riderfans about Dunigan's assertion that Taman was the source for the Lawless article on the firing of Chamblin. Some speculation that he may have given the story to Lawless to in some ratlike way, preserve his own crumbling employment. If true who needs people like that here, we just got rid of Mack ...

I'm sure he was the source. Taman and Lawless seem to be pretty good buddies and Taman is probably the source for a lot of Lawless' CFL tips.

I don't think it was meant as an underhanded thing. Taman easily could have thrown CC under the bus in an effort to save his job, he just waited too long. Although, I'm pretty sure the Rider board always intended to get O'Day in the chair.

  10. Paul Friesen

    @friesensunmedia

Brohm just one-hopped a pass, followed by a Davis pick (sound of clearing throat). #Bombers

    God. What a useless tweet.

Friesen had his back turned away from the field of play to talk to Ed and Bob (although I will say they were all there the entire practice today - must have been to see Nichols).

That one-hopper was literally the only miss Brohm had during the first half of practice and could easily have been the receiver not coming back at the appropriate depth.

IMO, the D hasn't been the problem recently, the O has been, seriously... It's funny to me how people ignore our complete incompetence on O, well it's not being ignored but... at the same time, It's kind of being glossed over, people actually defending Marve and the bunch there, 135 yards of total O last game,

Honestly, that game vs Toronto was lost on Special teams and a fumble by Kohlert... the D played well enough to win, held harris to under 170 yards passing really, Don't think the argos had 300 total yards of O, if our O actually did anything, i mean really, just anything, we win that game for sure. Last game, we had chances, Bucknor interception, couple plays later, Marve throws an INT and Calgary scores a TD.

The D isn't the problem, 3 4 sounds good to me tho but the D isn't the issue right now. The O is.  They can't do anything really.

I think some of us are saying there's always room for improvement controlling for the offense's inadequacies.

Absolutely. I really liked the Richie Hall signing and, even though we got off to a slow start and have been handicapped by our offence, I trust what he's doing to keep us ahead of the game. With Turner coming out, Collins might make a decent nose tackle.
